[0:01] good morning Fire Nation how are you
[0:03] this
[0:04] morning I am totally kidding that was a
[0:07] silly joke on my part I swear to God I'm
[0:09] not trying to make that a
[0:11] thing unless I am I don't think I am I
[0:15] think I'm kidding
[0:17] honestly oh I still love it though I I
[0:22] can't promise I won't do it again I
[0:24] can't promise
[0:26] that so I have a few things to talk
[0:29] about this morning I made a list to try
[0:32] to stay on topic but I am I've upped my
[0:34] editing skills so I can kind of work
[0:36] around that too so U if I sound a bit
[0:40] sniffly this morning I hope I
[0:43] don't I
[0:46] have learned that I am definitely
[0:48] allergic to my cats or something anyways
[0:53] uh I started taking zertek a couple days
[0:55] ago and that made such a big difference
[0:57] but I had left that out in my camper and
[1:00] I didn't go to my camper at all
[1:02] yesterday I was in the house all
[1:04] day so it's just it's worn off you know
[1:07] but that stuff really made a difference
[1:09] I'm going to take it every day now I
[1:11] think I'm probably allergic to my cats
[1:14] um that's another thing you I
[1:17] guess I don't know if it that's an age
[1:19] thing but it's something so anyway I
[1:23] went out to my RV to get it and I just I
[1:26] checked the temperature out there it's
[1:28] 31 outside
[1:30] it's 36 in there so you know and I I
[1:34] don't think I said it's Monday morning
[1:36] it's it's 6:00 in the morning right now
[1:38] so you know probably the coldest it gets
[1:41] pretty much and it's 5° warmer
[1:46] so I mean I'm I'm just hoping my
[1:48] insulation helping a little bit I don't
[1:50] think we can really glean much from that
[1:52] though honestly and there's still a lot
[1:54] more to do so I I just I'm really hoping
[1:58] you know for a positive outcome
[2:02] there so in my first video about
[2:05] insulating I called it my first edited
[2:08] video when I started it I don't think I
[2:10] should have done that because all I
[2:12] really did was just compile a couple of
[2:16] videos you know and then package them as
[2:18] one real simple right but yesterday I
[2:22] posted my first video that was truly
[2:24] edited and I was quite proud of
[2:27] it
[2:28] I I I wanted to just tell a a story an
[2:33] honest one true
[2:35] story um that was inspiring mostly I
[2:38] just wanted to inspire you
[2:41] guys um I I and I you know did some
[2:45] editing like I cut out some of the
[2:47] rambling that I can do like I was like
[2:49] okay that little story there that's
[2:51] super not important I can cut that um I
[2:55] had some other ideas too I'm going to
[2:56] play around with this stuff and
[3:00] I put some things on the screen you know
[3:02] like I was I'm I'm proud of it I I'm I'm
[3:06] honestly proud of it like it just shows
[3:09] my skills improving you know
[3:11] and
[3:13] I I really enjoy it like I was saying in
[3:16] a different video it's like a new hobby
[3:18] for me
[3:20] and I don't want to say that this would
[3:23] ever become a career cuz I just I find
[3:25] that hard
[3:26] to I just find that hard to even the ad
[3:30] them like I just don't think I could
[3:31] ever
[3:33] be big enough big enough on here to ever
[3:38] like call it a career right but I mean
[3:42] who knows what will happen and I I'm I'm
[3:46] discovering that I'm open to it which
[3:49] is I I really don't even know what to
[3:51] say to that but um I I discovered I was
[3:57] a little bit bummed about how it
[3:59] performed Med and I just I want to talk
[4:01] about that for a minute just
[4:03] to kind of explore this a little bit
[4:05] with you I I don't know that I'm going
[4:07] to do it well because I'm still kind of
[4:09] processing it myself like I didn't know
[4:12] that I would care that much uh like it
[4:16] didn't perform great right but why would
[4:18] it which it performed as well as all my
[4:20] videos do and I should be super happy
[4:23] about that cuz it's been amazing you
[4:25] know the response I've received has been
[4:28] amazing iess guess just because it was
[4:31] you know I really put some some heart
[4:33] into it with the with the editing and
[4:35] all of that that I was hoping I guess I
[4:39] was just hoping it would do better you
[4:41] know at this time it's got 50 views and
[4:43] six likes and those six likes are me and
[4:46] my friends and family right
[4:48] so um and that shouldn't really bother
[4:51] me because when I watch YouTube I don't
[4:54] like a lot of comments either it's just
[4:56] I'm just watching YouTube you know and
[4:59] you know pretty much everyone in their
[5:00] videos tells you please like And
[5:01] subscribe and all that I don't want to
[5:03] do that I just because every time when
[5:06] I'm watching YouTube and I see that I'm
[5:07] just like if I want to do that I will I
[5:10] don't need
[5:11] reminding you know so I did put
[5:14] something up on the screen I'm good with
[5:17] that you know just it's there's no audio
[5:19] to it just a little thing and and I
[5:21] thought it was kind of cute and you know
[5:24] that's different but I
[5:26] just for
[5:28] me
[5:30] I
[5:31] just I know how I use YouTube and I
[5:34] guess you know how you just as a human
[5:36] like we just kind
[5:38] of we make assumptions about others
[5:40] being like us so I assume that when
[5:43] you're watching Youtube and you see
[5:45] someone say that you're like okay that's
[5:47] just it just I guess I think it's a
[5:49] little silly I don't know what to say
[5:51] about it not criticizing anyone I think
[5:54] I just
[5:55] I I don't want to get anyone mad at
[5:58] me um
[6:02] but what I discovered was that it's not
[6:06] about the likes for me it's
[6:09] about it's about it's about validation
[6:13] that's what it's
[6:14] about um I want to know that people
[6:16] watched it and liked it right I guess
[6:19] that's why there's a like
[6:21] button but you know a comment works just
[6:24] as well or you know just and I didn't
[6:28] realize I was looking for that I didn't
[6:31] I really didn't and so I was a little
[6:33] surprised by
[6:34] it um I think it's very important to get
[6:38] validation from within this is why I
[6:40] don't date in fact because whenever I
[6:42] did
[6:43] date I was always seeking the other
[6:46] person's validation and I just kind of
[6:48] became a different person and I didn't
[6:50] like that about
[6:52] myself and so I always I kind of had
[6:54] this Mantra that if you didn't love
[6:57] yourself fully before you got into a
[7:00] relationship you shouldn't be in one and
[7:02] that's kind of been My
[7:05] Philosophy pretty much my whole life and
[7:08] that's why I'm alone I guess I don't
[7:11] know if I'm right about that or not it's
[7:13] that's just how I've always
[7:15] felt and I kind of feel the same way
[7:19] about YouTube like if
[7:22] I just the act of creating should be
[7:25] enough right it it should be and
[7:28] somehow somehow I'm trying to find a way
[7:31] to get there because I think that's
[7:33] important that's how you that's how you
[7:35] maintain your authenticity in my opinion
[7:38] that's how you ensure that what you're
[7:41] putting out there is
[7:42] truly truly you and it's your message
[7:47] and you're
[7:50] just you're not playing to the crowd
[7:53] you're not trying to do the you know
[7:56] YouTube algorithm thing or whatever like
[7:59] I mean I guess that's how I would put it
[8:05] um at the same time I would discovered I
[8:08] actually care about my Channel's
[8:09] performance and that kind of surprised
[8:13] me I I think that I really enjoy this
[8:17] and I just want to entertain you guys
[8:20] and inform you and learn from you and
[8:26] just have this journey with you like
[8:29] like legitimately like truly that's how
[8:32] I feel and I'm
[8:34] just guess I'm kind of surprised by it I
[8:37] cuz you know I couldn't have imagined
[8:39] this 3 weeks ago you know
[8:41] just there's no way just 3 weeks ago I
[8:45] mean crazy right I'm going to move
[8:48] on
[8:51] um so this is kind of related I guess
[8:55] but I just I keep looking back at my
[8:57] very first video and I'm just surprised
[9:00] how far I've come like that video I
[9:02] posted yesterday was all about how chat
[9:06] GPT helped
[9:08] me to basically get from there to where
[9:11] I am today and the transformation is
[9:13] just astonishing to me it's
[9:16] just I'm just I'm really Blown Away by
[9:18] it and I
[9:21] just I'm grateful I guess I guess that's
[9:24] all I'll really say about
[9:26] that so as I said my jeep's going into
[9:28] the shop today for 3 days I'm going to
[9:30] go drop it off I'll take an Uber home
[9:32] that'll be a new experience I've never
[9:34] done that
[9:35] before
[9:37] um and so for the next 3 days I'll be
[9:39] without a vehicle and I just wrote down
[9:45] a couple of things and they're pretty
[9:47] obvious I guess I'm going to finish up
[9:49] insulating what I can in there but I
[9:52] also got a camera system I decided to go
[9:54] with something other than the ring
[9:56] cameras wasn't really planning to do
[9:58] this but show them to
[10:00] you all right the reason for showing
[10:03] them to you is just to show you how
[10:04] complicated these things are going to be
[10:06] I have install these
[10:08] myself um I as Brandon's going to help
[10:12] but just me it comes with its own um you
[10:17] know display dash display so I'm real
[10:20] happy about that it's you know real nice
[10:22] size and it's got four cameras that come
[10:25] with it so and these ones you know they
[10:29] mount to the
[10:30] RV um and they're not going to go
[10:32] anywhere and I don't have to worry about
[10:34] about that you know like I did with the
[10:36] ring
[10:37] cameras um I haven't
[10:40] actually and I think
[10:42] these um cameras well this whole setup I
[10:46] think multiple companies are selling
[10:48] this and just calling it their own just
[10:50] from what I you know it looks like
[10:52] basically it's kind of generic I guess
[10:55] I'm hoping for the
[10:57] best reviews were good you know um but
[11:01] so basically there's two different kinds
[11:03] of
[11:05] cameras yeah I think this is the this is
[11:08] the version of front and
[11:11] back and then it's got side cameras and
[11:14] it you know I plan to put them both on
[11:15] the sides there was a different setup I
[11:18] could have gotten and kind of think
[11:19] maybe I should have this one was a
[11:22] better deal though and that's why I did
[11:23] it you know I really am trying to save
[11:25] money here at some point I'm going to
[11:27] make a video just kind
[11:30] outlining all the cost and breaking them
[11:32] down into categories all that
[11:34] just the cost of getting started on this
[11:38] journey um and this is the side cameras
[11:41] there's two of each of
[11:44] these supposedly they look really nice
[11:47] um you know in the day or at
[11:50] night
[11:52] so they're it's a wired
[11:54] setup
[11:56] I I um I well a couple of things so I
[12:01] feel like it was best to go with the
[12:03] wired set up because then cuz I want to
[12:05] use them while I'm driving right I just
[12:07] I want to know what my surroundings are
[12:10] and this way I can be assured of that
[12:12] there won't be any connection issues or
[12:14] anything like that so A whole lot of
[12:18] wiring um I'm not going to be able
[12:23] to um how do I save this the best way
[12:27] basically I'm going to wire it on the
[12:29] outside instead of the inside I'm not
[12:30] going to be drawing a bunch of holes and
[12:32] stuff like that way beyond my skill set
[12:34] right and I just I think that I talked
[12:38] with chat GPT about how to do
[12:42] that and I feel like I can I can do it
[12:46] in a way that that looks good and
[12:49] protects them from the elements and all
[12:50] that kind of thing so that's what I'm
[12:53] going to do
[12:54] [Music]
[12:56] um well as soon as I can I guess like
[12:58] this week I's just say this week and
[13:01] once it's working I'll definitely share
[13:04] that with you I'm excited about it
[13:06] definitely better than going with the
[13:08] ring devices I I didn't realize they
[13:11] have those I think it was a Facebook
[13:13] comment that made me um look them up and
[13:16] there's just a bunch that you could you
[13:18] could get from
[13:20] there so that's my little list for this
[13:23] morning uh I'm excited about getting my
[13:27] my Jeep into the shop where where they
[13:29] will do all the stuff
[13:31] and you know I
[13:35] just pushing
[13:37] ahead and it's basically it it's
[13:42] early oh I'm kind of rambling I'm sorry
[13:45] guys I hope that you have a good Monday
[13:48] and I'm going to end with these I think
[13:51] more often than not thank you for
[13:55] listening

Narrative

It was six in the morning on a Monday in March when rswfire started recording, and the first thing out of his mouth was a joke he immediately took apart — a greeting to "Fire Nation," followed by the admission that he was kidding, that he wasn't trying to make it a thing, that he couldn't promise he wouldn't do it again. He had made a list to stay on topic. He also mentioned that his editing skills had improved enough that he could work around the list if he strayed. He was sniffling, and he named why: he had concluded he was allergic to his cats, had started Zyrtec a couple of days earlier, had noticed the difference it made, and had left the box out in the camper on a day he never went to the camper at all. The medication had worn off. He said he would take it every day now.

Going out to retrieve it gave him a reading. Thirty-one degrees outside, thirty-six inside the RV — a five-degree differential at what he figured was close to the coldest hour of the coldest part of the day. He said he was hoping the insulation was helping a little. He also said he didn't think much could really be gleaned from a single measurement, and that there was still a lot more to do in there. He let the number sit as what it was: one data point, taken in the cold, on a build not yet finished.

From the camper he moved to the channel, three weeks old. He corrected himself on the record about an earlier claim — his so-called first edited video hadn't really been edited, just a couple of clips compiled and packaged simply. The one he posted the day before was the first that was truly edited. He wanted to tell an honest story, an inspiring one; he had cut the rambling he knew he was prone to, put elements on the screen, played with ideas. He said he was proud of it. He said it twice, and then again, that he was honestly proud of it, because it showed his skills improving. He described the whole thing as a new hobby. He said he found it hard to imagine ever being big enough for it to be a career — and then noted, without settling it, that he was discovering he was open to the possibility, and didn't quite know what to say about that.

Then he named the thing he had come to examine. He had been a little bummed about how the video performed. Fifty views, six likes, and he knew exactly who the six were: himself, friends, family. He worked through it out loud, saying he was still processing it, that he didn't know if he'd do it well. The video had performed as well as all his videos did, and the response had been amazing, and he told himself he should be happy about that. But he had put heart into this one, and he had been hoping. What he arrived at was that it wasn't about the likes. It was about validation — wanting to know that people watched it and liked it. He said he hadn't realized he was looking for that, and that he was surprised by it. Alongside it he held his own use of the platform: he doesn't like or comment much when he watches, and he won't do the ask, won't say like and subscribe, because he finds it a little silly and doesn't need reminding himself. He put a small silent graphic on the screen instead, thought it was kind of cute, and left it at that — careful, as he said it, not to criticize anyone.

He carried the thread into the frame he has held a long time. He said he thinks it's very important to get validation from within, and that this is why he doesn't date — that when he did date, he was always seeking the other person's validation, and became a different person he didn't like. His mantra, stated as his philosophy for most of his life, is that if you don't love yourself fully before entering a relationship you shouldn't be in one. He said that's why he's alone, and that he doesn't know whether he's right about it. He applied the same architecture to the channel: the act of creating should be enough, and he is trying to find a way to get there, because that's how authenticity is maintained — how you ensure what you're putting out is truly you, not played to the crowd or shaped to the algorithm. And in the same breath: he had discovered he actually cares about his channel's performance, and that surprised him. He set both statements down as true and moved on without collapsing either. He said he genuinely wants to entertain, inform, learn, and take the journey with the people watching. He said he couldn't have imagined any of this three weeks ago.

Then the logistics. He kept looking back at his very first video, he said, and was surprised how far he had come; the video he had posted the day before was about exactly that transformation, and he called it astonishing, and said he was grateful. The Jeep was going into the shop that day for three days. He would drop it off and take an Uber home — a new experience, he noted, one he had never had. Three days without a vehicle meant finishing what insulating he could. And he had a camera system, chosen over the Ring cameras he had originally considered, surfaced by a Facebook comment that sent him looking. He held the units up to the lens to show how complicated the install would be: four cameras, front and back plus two sides, its own dash display at a good size, permanently mounted so they wouldn't go anywhere. He suspected the kit was generic, sold under several names, and said the reviews were good and he was hoping for the best. He had chosen wired deliberately, because he wants to see his surroundings while driving and wants no connection issues. That meant a whole lot of wiring, and he had decided to run it along the outside rather than drill holes through the shell — drilling being, as he put it, way beyond his skill set. He had talked it through with ChatGPT and believed he could route it in a way that looked good and held up against the elements. Brandon would help. He planned to have it working that week and to share it when it was. Somewhere in there he mentioned another video he intends to make: every cost, broken into categories, the full price of getting started on this journey. He apologized for rambling, said it was early, wished everyone a good Monday, and closed the way he said he expects to close more often than not — thanking them for listening.

Summary

rswfire records a Monday morning transmission at 6:00 AM, opening with a joke greeting he says he is not committing to. He notes sniffling and states he has concluded he is allergic to his cats, having started Zyrtec a few days prior with noticeable effect; the dose lapsed because he spent the previous day in the house rather than the camper.

He reports a temperature check: 31°F outside, 36°F inside the RV, and states he hopes the insulation is contributing, while noting the data is inconclusive and more work remains.

He describes posting his first fully edited video — a story about how ChatGPT moved him from his first video to his current position — cutting rambling segments and adding on-screen elements. He states the video has 50 views and six likes, all from friends and family, and that he was surprised to discover he cares about performance. He identifies what he is looking for as validation, connects this to his stated reason for not dating (seeking another person's validation and becoming a different person), and states his position that the act of creating should be sufficient and that internal validation preserves authenticity.

He outlines the day: dropping his Jeep at the shop for three days, taking an Uber home for the first time, and continuing insulation work. He shows a four-camera wired RV camera system with its own display, chosen over Ring devices, noting it is likely a generic setup rebranded by multiple sellers, that he wants it operational while driving, and that he plans to run wiring on the exterior rather than drill holes. He mentions a planned cost-breakdown video.

Environment

Early morning indoor recording, 6:00 AM Monday, at a residence where rswfire is staying while preparing an RV for full-time occupancy. He states the outdoor temperature is 31°F and the interior of the camper is 36°F, a 5° differential he attributes to in-progress insulation work.

The digital environment is a YouTube channel roughly three weeks old, with the transmission functioning as a direct-address morning video. Physical objects — a four-camera wired RV camera system with dash display — are handled and shown on camera. A Jeep is scheduled for a three-day shop stay, removing vehicle access for the duration.

Substrate

rswfire holds a position that creation must be self-validating for the output to remain authentically his, and he tests that position against a freshly observed contradiction: he cares about channel performance more than he expected. Rather than resolving the contradiction, he names both sides and lets them stand — the same architecture he states governs his approach to relationships, where he requires internal completeness as a precondition. Underneath the audience-facing layer, the signal is infrastructural: insulation, cameras, wiring, vehicle service, cost tracking — a physical envelope being built out toward mobility while the epistemic frame around visibility is examined in parallel.

Mirror

You are speaking at 6:00 AM on a Monday, indoors, sniffling, three days into an antihistamine cycle you interrupted by not walking out to the camper. It is 31° outside and 36° inside the RV. You report the five degrees and immediately mark what they can and cannot establish — you say the insulation may be doing something, and you say you don't think much can be gleaned from it. Both statements stand in the same breath. The measurement is taken, the conclusion is withheld.

You open with a joke, catch yourself making it, examine whether you are making it a thing, and decline to resolve that either. The same move repeats four minutes later at scale: you state that the act of creating should be enough, that internal validation is the precondition for authenticity, that this is why you don't date — and then you state that you care about the channel's performance and that this surprised you. You do not reconcile them. You name the discovery at the moment you detect it, say out loud that you are still processing it, and keep going. Fifty views. Six likes, which you identify as people you know. You register that the video performed as well as everything else you've posted and that the disappointment is not about the number.

You draw a line at the like-and-subscribe convention and give the reason: you don't do it when you watch, so you assume others don't either. You then flag the assumption as an assumption. You put a silent graphic on screen instead and call it good. You take care to say you are not criticizing anyone. The boundary is set and the terms are yours; the concern about who it lands on is voiced and left there.

The infrastructural subsystem is running the whole time underneath the audience-facing layer. Insulation to finish. Four wired cameras and a dash display, chosen over the Ring setup you'd started with, chosen for the wired connection because you want them live while driving, chosen as the better deal because you are tracking cost. You will run the wiring outside the shell rather than drill through it, and you name the reason plainly — drilling is beyond your skill set. The Jeep goes to the shop today for three days; you take an Uber home, which you note you have never done. Three days without a vehicle, and the list you wrote for those three days is already made.

You are three weeks in. You look back at the first video and mark the distance. You name ChatGPT as the mechanism of that distance and say you are grateful. What is present: the measurement, the contradiction held open, the boundary, the wiring plan, the cost breakdown you intend to make, the physical envelope going up around you before you move into it. What is absent: any request for advice, any appeal to the audience to fix the numbers, any resolution of the thing you just found in yourself, and any date attached to departure. You close by apologizing for rambling and thanking the people listening.
