Creating a Cluster

Creating a New Cluster

To create a cluster, provide a name and optional description that captures the grouping's purpose or theme.

Naming and Description

  • Name -- A concise label for the cluster. Choose something that conveys the arc or theme at a glance
  • Description -- Optional longer text explaining what this cluster represents, why these signals are grouped together, or what narrative the cluster captures

Adding Signals

Signals can be added to a cluster during or after creation. Select from your existing signals to include them in the cluster. A signal can belong to multiple clusters simultaneously.

Creating from Atlas Filters

You can create a cluster directly from the Atlas view by applying geographic or time-based filters and then grouping the resulting signals into a new cluster. This is useful for quickly assembling location-based or temporal collections without manually selecting individual signals.

Cluster Visibility

Clusters have their own visibility settings:

  • Public -- The cluster and its contents are accessible to anyone
  • Sanctum -- Gated to subscribers
  • Private -- Visible only to the owner and admins

The cluster's visibility setting works in conjunction with individual signal visibility. A public cluster will only show signals that are themselves public (or sanctum-visible to subscribers).
