[0:00] I'm
[0:01] home um I didn't stay long because I
[0:04] knew Bailey was here he's only been here
[0:06] like 36 hours know it's an adjustment
[0:08] for
[0:09] him um he needs to know this is
[0:11] permanent this time
[0:13] so and I didn't you know I left him in
[0:16] kind of a bit of chaos I guess I'll just
[0:18] show you that before Bailey's outside by
[0:20] the way he just want
[0:22] out so this is our bed right now because
[0:25] you know I got us a new
[0:27] mattress um there's one issue that we
[0:29] might have I put that sock there just so
[0:31] he had my scent I don't
[0:32] know anything to help right is how I
[0:35] looked at it I had all this is what I
[0:37] put up yesterday and I had all this
[0:39] stuff on it but I couldn't even really
[0:41] sleep well because I was so worried
[0:43] about it falling down I used a bunch of
[0:45] these
[0:46] things and when I looked at it this
[0:48] morning they definitely shown signs that
[0:50] they just can't be fully
[0:52] trusted um I'm going to put on some
[0:55] command
[0:56] strips and I'm going to put on some duct
[0:59] tap
[1:01] just think of I don't care if it hurts
[1:03] the wall I truly don't it's more
[1:05] important my safety is more important I
[1:06] was worried about Bailey and I think
[1:07] that might have been what caus that
[1:09] dream like it was just a ridiculously
[1:11] scary
[1:12] dream so I got all my movies and some of
[1:15] the books um Game of
[1:18] Thrones some Minecraft stuff I put it
[1:20] all up there it looked really nice but I
[1:22] had to take it down and I'll put it back
[1:23] up today after I secure that better
[1:26] going to put the bed in here um I might
[1:29] have
[1:30] to I think maybe the problem with the RV
[1:33] mattress is that there's that 1in Gap
[1:36] there you know and it's right split
[1:38] right down the middle you know or you're
[1:40] sleeping right the middle of your body
[1:41] like that can't be good and I'll have
[1:43] the same problem with this mattress
[1:45] right so I'll just find something
[1:47] that go to the store like a hardware
[1:50] store or something and I'll figure
[1:51] something
[1:53] out so yeah um and this is this will
[1:57] look messy but hold on let me just show
[1:58] you this first clean up all the stuff
[2:00] that was
[2:01] here so that Bailey had as much room as
[2:04] possible and
[2:06] then you know a lot of it ended up over
[2:08] here it looks completely messy but some
[2:10] of this stuff belongs in my Jeep um cuz
[2:13] I had to clear that out for the mattress
[2:15] and a lot of it's a lot more organized
[2:16] than it might appear at first glance you
[2:19] guys will see that cuz that's what I'm
[2:21] doing today it's a priority um I wanted
[2:23] Bailey to have as much space as possible
[2:25] I had up so he could just access the
[2:27] window over here you know he had the
[2:31] stuff over you know this area these
[2:33] pillars weren't here I brought these
[2:34] with me I wanted to try different pills
[2:36] I didn't like the ones I brought you
[2:37] could jump up there and then up there
[2:38] and I had all the windows
[2:40] cracked um you know I did everything I
[2:42] could and I knew you know I knew it
[2:45] would be kind of rough cuz it was like 5
[2:47] or 6 hours we're in here right
[2:51] Bailey but he immediately wanted to go
[2:53] out so I don't know brought some things
[2:56] with me so I'll show you that got all my
[2:58] booknook um there's one here here
[3:00] too whole bunch of book ducks to put
[3:02] together those will take forever it's
[3:04] not going to happen
[3:05] quickly um I grabb McDonald's I was so
[3:07] hungry the strawber duckies I'll explain
[3:09] to you later it's a deep a Jeep
[3:11] thing and I got a new camera if that
[3:14] camera doesn't take better pictures
[3:17] of um nature then you know it's going
[3:20] back but if it does take better ones in
[3:22] my um my phone then I'm happy to have it
[3:26] my mom gave me a bunch of nicotine
[3:27] patches then there's my bed I have to
[3:29] put put that thing together well you
[3:30] know open it up hey
[3:34] biley what's up I thought you wanted out
[3:38] you don't want out
[3:40] anymore
[3:41] okay I did bring some popsicles for him
[3:44] with me cuz he loves them but they
[3:45] started to um melt a little
[3:48] bit um so I put him in the freezer for a
[3:51] while I'm going to try to get him to eat
[3:53] wet food by mixing it in with dry food
[3:55] he's never ate wet food he just doesn't
[3:57] like it because of an incident from his
[3:59] childhood he almost died
[4:01] from um from a
[4:04] vaccine you know very rare it just it
[4:07] triggered a condition that he has it's I
[4:10] forget what it's called but it has
[4:11] something to do with
[4:12] arthritis I think um and I've been
[4:16] wondering if it's coming back because
[4:17] he's been sleeping a lot more lately and
[4:20] I don't think it's just
[4:21] like the stress of all these
[4:24] changes cuz it was ongoing like before
[4:27] before I moved it's been going for on
[4:29] for a couple months I'm going to get him
[4:30] to a vet and have his blood checked and
[4:31] stuff like
[4:33] that so yeah that's all for now
[4:36] until clean all this stuff off and get
[4:39] that mattress on
[4:40] there took a bit of effort but not much
[4:43] I mean it wasn't too bad it says it'll
[4:45] take up
[4:46] to 3 days to fully decompress I read a
[4:49] review that said 12 hours so you know
[4:52] probably be all right you can't see it
[4:54] like dipping down I think you can even
[4:56] feel
[4:58] it um
[5:02] yeah I don't
[5:04] know definitely going to want to do
[5:05] something about that but the bed
[5:12] itself I think it might work so that's
[5:16] good happy about
[5:19] that definitely you know a little bit
[5:21] tilted here
[5:22] so you know that one inch does make a
[5:25] difference um hopefully Bailey likes it
[5:28] you know I'll get all the sheets and
[5:29] stuff F here finally I hadn't been
[5:31] sleeping with those cuz I knew I was
[5:33] going to do this
[5:34] and fix these shelves and then get the
[5:38] stuff that belongs in the Jeep back in
[5:40] there that'll clear out a lot of space
[5:42] in here and
[5:43] then deal with the rest of it I think I
[5:46] might be able to do it today and
[5:47] tomorrow and be just finally be done
[5:49] with
[5:55] that I think he's happy to be
[5:58] here he didn't like being locked up all
[6:01] day that cat does want to run around the
[6:04] more freedom you give him the more he
[6:05] wants
[6:07] so it's always a challenge but he's
[6:10] worth every
[6:22] moment you're never leaving here without
[6:25] me
[6:27] okay this is our home here in
[6:36] mine that's a good barrier from your bir
[6:40] what do you see out
[6:42] there say hi
[6:50] bab we need some
[6:54] brushes doing
[7:01] can't on my
[7:03] hand can't see
[7:08] anything okay he's happy I'm
[7:12] back he doesn't want me doing anything I
[7:15] guess all
[7:22] right I need to make the bed
[7:25] baby will you let me make the bed
[7:30] [Music]
[7:31] H come on let me make the
[7:37] bag this one makes eye contact a lot I
[7:40] don't know many cats that are like that
[7:42] this one wants to look
[7:53] at you lonely
[8:10] here that's one task done now to just
[8:13] give it time to you know get better and
[8:15] filled out don't particularly like this
[8:17] mat um this bed sprad my mom likes it
[8:21] because he says it's so hard to make a
[8:22] RV bed that it always looks like crap so
[8:25] this actually makes it look better which
[8:28] is kind of true but I kind of want to
[8:30] change the color I
[8:31] think I went I'm doing the same with
[8:34] these
[8:34] rugs I actually got some different
[8:37] colored
[8:38] ones you happy Bailey H you like the
[8:45] bad so this is
[8:48] next I just realized I hadn't shown you
[8:50] guys what's next to my bed over here on
[8:52] this side on my game consoles my steam
[8:54] dag Nintendo
[8:56] switch Kindle
[8:59] uh F game
[9:02] controllers I think that one's for my
[9:04] laptop which you know I haven't really
[9:05] used much yet but I will probably end up
[9:08] just using on my bed when I want to do
[9:09] some gaming or something and this one's
[9:11] for cell phones if I ever get into a
[9:13] mobile game I probably won't because
[9:14] they're all they're they're all designed
[9:16] to just take as much money from you as
[9:18] possible do have a couple of different
[9:20] game consoles up there
[9:23] um don't remember the names of them one
[9:25] of them are sort of like an Android one
[9:27] but the other one is actually really
[9:29] good
[9:31] I actually almost prefer it to the steam
[9:33] dab because it natively runs Windows 11
[9:36] oh very old PlayStation beat up
[9:39] there look at Bailey you're so funny
[9:42] Bailey
[9:44] really so you know I got all my basic
[9:47] stuff over here that you know makes
[9:48] sense as like sort of personal
[9:50] things yeah I'm going to have to figure
[9:52] this out cuz not working
[9:59] y I mean eventually I will do you know a
[10:03] normal tour of this place once I am
[10:08] ready basically everything in this area
[10:10] jut told me make it feel like a home
[10:14] because I had been struggling to do
[10:17] normal home like things like watch TV or
[10:20] even read a book like for some reason I
[10:25] just sit in the space and it just
[10:27] doesn't it's just something something
[10:29] about it I I don't know I Jud you
[10:31] because just make it feel like a home so
[10:32] that's what I'm trying to do put all my
[10:34] gaming stuff over here on that shelf put
[10:36] my movies and books over there the few
[10:38] books that I kept I didn't take many um
[10:42] like I said just Minecraft books cuz
[10:44] they were just kind of special and
[10:47] they're pretty basic books but they're I
[10:49] just find them interesting and then um I
[10:52] have you know Game of Thrones on on
[10:56] Kindle I think um but the these ones
[11:00] are they're just they have leather like
[11:04] you know they're Bound in leather and
[11:06] very small PR but I've actually read
[11:08] them up to like the fourth book or
[11:10] something they're really good so I will
[11:12] I do find to read them
[11:14] again M's still sitting on my legs
[11:17] so I've just been sitting here and I
[11:20] started thinking have no idea where my
[11:23] life is going I just need to be
[11:27] patient and maybe it'll be somewhere
[11:31] wonderful and then I started thinking
[11:34] and I looked it up I started my my
[11:37] YouTube Journey with you guys on
[11:38] February 24th so it's been 2 and a half
[11:42] months and I'm just curious have I
[11:45] inspired any of you have you made any
[11:48] changes in your life you know have
[11:56] you has this channel done anything for
[11:58] you
[12:00] I need to know because I don't know that
[12:02] I can keep doing it unless I know it's
[12:05] doing something positive in the
[12:09] world I don't think that's unre you know
[12:13] un unreasonable of me either because you
[12:17] know I look at my analytics and most
[12:19] people don't really watch my videos for
[12:21] very long
[12:24] so and it's an average
[12:27] so it's quite low for each videos so I
[12:30] just you
[12:32] know think that most people don't really
[12:34] watch me even when they are when there's
[12:36] you know whatever the views are it's
[12:40] just it's a lot of effort it takes a lot
[12:43] of really does take a lot of emotional
[12:48] energy and it just
[12:52] feels unnatural I mean this isn't how I
[12:55] would normally live I keep my thoughts
[12:57] to myself I allowed myself to do a thing
[13:02] that does not feel normal to me I just
[13:04] need to know it's worth
[13:09] it just need to be patient because I do
[13:13] believe good things are
[13:15] coming I don't want to do this
[13:17] forever I think that there's this I just
[13:21] have this problem on YouTube where
[13:24] I'm an RV Life channel which is accurate
[13:27] but this is just the backdrop of my life
[13:29] that's not it's not what I really share
[13:32] with you guys really so I think that
[13:35] that gets overlooked a lot you know and
[13:38] not by the ones who watch me but just in
[13:41] general you know I don't think
[13:44] that I don't think that I've learned to
[13:47] label and Target my content correctly
[13:49] yet
[13:52] so but this is a self-improvement
[13:55] channel this is about being vulnerable
[14:00] and finding strength in it because there
[14:02] is a lot of strength in doing and being
[14:04] vulnerable there really
[14:06] is you know I'm still sad about Oliver
[14:09] but I I do feel better like still sad
[14:12] about it I love that cat a lot I'm going
[14:15] to miss the hell out of
[14:18] him but you know I've I think I've found
[14:24] acceptance It's for now there's always a
[14:26] part of me that will have hope it's
[14:27] impossible for they not
[14:30] and like I was saying I don't want to do
[14:33] this forever I might you know I want
[14:36] some land and I might live in this on
[14:37] that
[14:39] land but I don't know that I like the
[14:41] whole traveling part I mean that dream
[14:43] tells you a lot about how I feel about
[14:45] it maybe it gets better I guess we'll
[14:48] find
[14:49] out I did learn that my propane can last
[14:52] a very long time even if I were cooking
[14:54] with it um cuz it's just me and because
[14:59] last me many months that's pretty
[15:02] cool I mean that is really
[15:07] cool I just more time you know I
[15:11] can't can't judge the situation yet I
[15:13] have to give it more time so in theory
[15:17] all those command strips should add 60
[15:20] lbs capacity to that show a I'm finding
[15:25] the silence
[15:27] difficult it's all I heard for over a
[15:29] month now you know and but I can't
[15:33] handle heavy emotions right now so I
[15:35] just needed
[15:36] something just to play in the background
[15:41] that i' had never seen this boy there
[15:44] are a lot of adult references in this
[15:46] thing
[15:48] um just thought you know what set that
[15:50] thing up and and just play something
[15:52] real casual
[15:55] that's just for the background noise I
[15:57] guess it's an adjustment
[16:00] M's over here he is an expert
[16:04] sleeper always so
[16:08] adorable all the work on these shelves
[16:10] is just to keep that cat right there
[16:12] safe because I love him so
[16:15] much yes I
[16:19] do hell no I do not want that song stuck
[16:24] in my head I will be screaming in my
[16:25] head until it's
[16:27] over ready to go
[16:29] [Applause]
[16:31] 60 lbs for each one plus you know
[16:34] whatever I don't know what those
[16:36] see-through ones but I'm probably going
[16:39] to put duct tape on it still probably on
[16:42] those see-through things cuz it just
[16:43] feels like there's air bubbles in them
[16:47] eventually they'll just stop working I
[16:50] actually think it's probably safe
[16:53] now it's a lot of command strips two
[16:55] boxes of
[16:57] them CH GB so to make this place feel
[17:00] like a home that's what I've tried to
[17:04] do nothing's more like home than my cat
[17:07] of
[17:07] course my game consoles that I showed
[17:10] you I'm going to do some work on these
[17:12] baskets try to put some up here all the
[17:14] way up to the ceiling but they fell down
[17:17] it's why I'm so concerned about this
[17:20] stuff but I did do feel this is
[17:23] good feels like that feels like
[17:27] home yeah it's mostly movies a few books
[17:32] all my peter Hamilton books are gone
[17:34] very sad about that I love Peter
[17:36] Hamilton's books I love owning his whole
[17:39] collection
[17:41] um real sad about that but you got to
[17:45] make sacrifices and these were the
[17:47] things I could not part with so this
[17:50] kind of gives you a window into the kind
[17:52] of entertainment I like I
[17:54] guess this is all Battle Star Galactica
[17:56] stuff Target
[17:58] I didn't like Universe of course I do
[18:01] have it in this collection somewhere but
[18:03] it's kind of hidden because I don't care
[18:04] for it that much I all I love all star
[18:08] track you'll find lots of that Mr
[18:12] Robot Harry Potter fantastic Beast The
[18:16] Hobbit Lord of the Rings all of Game of
[18:18] Thrones and the books The Land Before
[18:21] Time that is like a
[18:23] childhood the first movie anyways I've
[18:26] not seen all of them but when I
[18:28] discovered there was a collection they
[18:29] had to get it my Minecraft
[18:33] books Hunger Games more Minecraft books
[18:37] back there Iron Will is one of my
[18:38] all-time favorite
[18:40] movies True Blood that's something my
[18:42] mom and I share
[18:44] together Lo of the Flies The Matrix fan
[18:48] and the City of a thousand planets
[18:50] Fringe the
[18:51] expanse there's some random stuff back
[18:54] there that some is you know less
[18:56] important than others land of mine is an
[18:59] excellent movie if you can find
[19:01] it um it's a very powerful
[19:06] movie that's from Rainbow briti a
[19:08] childhood thing that I'll maybe tell you
[19:10] about
[19:11] someday and those are you know B EO F
[19:16] EOS for my Nintendo
[19:18] switch so there we
[19:22] are I feel pretty confident that's not
[19:25] going
[19:27] anywhere and this face is starting to
[19:29] feel like Cal right
[19:31] Bailey yep it
[19:38] is I've noticed my camera does not
[19:41] really reflect what I look like it's
[19:44] like I don't get phone cameras I look at
[19:46] myself in the mirror I look I'm way
[19:48] hotter than this I just
[19:51] am so did get my camera I put it
[19:55] together and
[19:58] I don't have a memory card for it so
[20:01] can't use it yet but
[20:04] um looks interesting I'll show it to you
[20:06] guys later still a lot to do around here
[20:09] but this is
[20:12] progress there is a spot up there for a
[20:14] television and I thought maybe one day I
[20:16] might get one but there's definitely not
[20:18] room now and honestly I think a tablet
[20:22] is good enough I really do I don't know
[20:25] if I can hook my Blu-ray player up to
[20:28] I'm going to try this I'm just curious
[20:29] if that would work or not but if it
[20:31] doesn't that's what my laptop's for I
[20:34] guess but yeah we've made progress in
[20:37] here and it might not look like it but
[20:39] if you compare it to earlier got a bunch
[20:41] of stuff out of here that's all art
[20:43] supplies just got to figure out what I'm
[20:45] going to do with
[20:47] that um most things are in baskets now
[20:52] um or really not like some of the
[20:54] baskets are pretty empty
[20:57] so um I really feel like I can get
[21:01] organized it looks messy it's just
[21:06] because it's just not organized yet and
[21:09] I feel like I can do it I feel like it
[21:11] is possible now I feel like I'm getting
[21:13] so
[21:14] close so I'm really happy about that I
[21:17] just I need it it will help I know it
[21:20] will help I think that's one of the
[21:22] reasons why this feels so hard it's
[21:25] just you you really need to
[21:29] you really need to be organized oh I
[21:33] when I first put those shelves up I had
[21:34] on my George Carlin I don't know you
[21:36] know a lot of you guys might know great
[21:38] comedian I got all of his DVDs recently
[21:42] so I could not part with those I mean I
[21:44] got all of them but I was thinking you
[21:46] know what they don't really need to be
[21:47] in those boxes I can just you
[21:50] know there's eight of them right so you
[21:54] know just ate this and put them in um
[21:57] you know back here I've got I've got
[21:59] lots of
[22:01] discs you know you want to save space
[22:04] like maybe some of the things over there
[22:06] belong that way too um maybe some of the
[22:10] randomness or you know a lot of them I
[22:13] wouldn't want to do that I mean I
[22:14] actually like to expain them it's one of
[22:16] the reason I bought them that way CU of
[22:17] course you could stream any of these

[22:29] I just sounded like a fun idea but
[22:32] that's not going to happen I don't even
[22:34] know what happened to him
[22:35] actually no idea it's raining and pretty
[22:40] tired it was a long day didn't get
[22:42] enough sleep then they have that weird
[22:45] nightm and then I had to leave I had to
[22:47] go you know get our new mattress and all
[22:50] that
[22:51] and got back and immediately got to work
[22:54] and yeah I think it's time to chill hope

Narrative

He came back earlier than he had to. Bailey was thirty-six hours into the RV and rswfire had left him in what he called a bit of chaos — shelves half-loaded, gear stacked in the aisle, windows cracked, pillars arranged so the cat could climb to the window and back down again. Five or six hours alone, and by his own account he had done everything he could to make the space survivable in his absence. The cat wanted out the moment he opened the door, then didn't, then followed him through the frame for the rest of the day, making eye contact the way he says few cats do.

The shelf wall was the first thing he showed. He had mounted it the day before and loaded it with films, the Game of Thrones set in small leather bindings, the Minecraft books, and then lay under it all night unable to sleep because he was worried it would come down. In the morning the adhesive strips showed him what he already suspected — they could not be fully trusted. He had a nightmare he traces to the same worry. So he took everything back off and made the call plainly: command strips, duct tape, and no concern for the wall. He states the wall does not matter. His safety matters more, and Bailey's matters more than that. Later he counted it out — sixty pounds of rated capacity per anchor, two boxes of strips gone into one wall — and said the point of all of it was to keep the cat sleeping right there, safe.

The mattress came in from the Jeep, which had to be emptied to carry it, which is why so much of the RV's floor was covered in things that belonged somewhere else. It took effort but not much. The box said three days to decompress; a review said twelve hours; he decided it would probably be fine. The bed itself he thinks will work. The one-inch gap down the middle of the RV platform is another matter — a seam running exactly under the length of a sleeping body, a tilt he can feel. He named it as a hardware-store problem and left it there, unsolved but scoped.

Between the structural work he moved through the smaller registers of the day. McDonald's, because he was hungry. Popsicles for Bailey, already going soft, into the freezer. A new camera assembled with no memory card to run it — a conditional purchase, he said: if it photographs nature better than his phone it stays, and if it doesn't it goes back. Nicotine patches from his mom. Book nooks that will take forever and won't happen quickly. A plan to fold wet food into dry, because the cat has never eaten wet food since an early reaction to a vaccine, and a plan to get his blood checked, because Bailey has been sleeping more for a couple of months now — before the move, not because of it.

Then he made the bed, with the cat interfering, and afterward sat down and the cat settled on his legs and he stopped working. The tablet was playing something in the background because he says he has been finding the silence difficult — a month of it — and he can't take heavy emotions right now, so he picked something casual he had never seen. Sitting there, he said he has no idea where his life is going and needs to be patient, and then he looked up the date: February 24th. Two and a half months of the channel. He asked directly whether it had inspired anyone, whether anyone had changed anything, and said he needs to know, because the retention numbers are low and the effort is high and this is not how he would normally live — he keeps his thoughts to himself. He named the labeling problem too: RV life is accurate but it is only the backdrop, and what he is actually making is a self-improvement channel about vulnerability and the strength inside it. He did not resolve whether to continue. He said he has to give it more time.

He mentioned Oliver, still sad, and said he has found acceptance for now while keeping the part of himself that hopes. He said he wants land someday, might keep the RV and put it on that land, and that he isn't sure he likes the traveling part — the dream told him that much. He noted, with genuine pleasure, that his propane will last months even if he cooks with it. Then he went back to work.

With the shelves resecured he walked the collection: Battlestar Galactica, all of Star Trek, Mr. Robot, Harry Potter, the Hobbit and Lord of the Rings, Game of Thrones and the books, The Land Before Time, Hunger Games, Iron Will, True Blood, Lord of the Flies, The Matrix, Valerian, Fringe, The Expanse, Land of Mine, a Rainbow Brite disc with a story attached to it he might tell someday, George Carlin's whole run recently acquired. The Peter Hamilton books are gone and he said so twice. These were the things he could not part with. He said the shelf of consoles and the wall of discs are what a friend told him would make the place feel like a home — because he had been unable to do ordinary things in the space, watch something, read something — and that this is what he is trying to do. He glanced at the camera and remarked that it does not show what the mirror shows. There is a spot for a television he doesn't need; the tablet is enough. Art supplies still without a place, baskets still half-empty, and his read on it: it looks messy because it isn't organized yet, and he can do it, and he is close. By the end it was raining and he was tired, on not enough sleep after a nightmare and a mattress run and a full day of work, and he called it: progress, and time to chill.

Summary

rswfire documents a work day inside the RV following Bailey's arrival roughly 36 hours prior. He states Bailey needs to know this placement is permanent, and describes leaving a sock out so the cat had his scent while he was away for five or six hours retrieving a new mattress.

The primary task is re-securing the wall shelves that had come down. He reports not sleeping well from concern about the shelves falling, attributes a nightmare to worry about Bailey, and rebuilds the mounting with two boxes of Command strips plus duct tape, stating he does not care about damage to the wall because safety takes priority. The reinstalled shelves hold movies, DVDs, and a small retained book collection.

Other items covered:

  • The new mattress has the same one-inch center gap as the RV mattress; he plans a hardware-store fix.
  • Bailey's health: increased sleeping for a couple of months, a childhood vaccine reaction that triggered an arthritis-related condition, plan to get bloodwork done and to introduce wet food.
  • New camera purchased, unusable pending a memory card.

He reviews his YouTube channel at two and a half months, notes low average watch time, states the effort takes significant energy and does not feel natural to him, and asks viewers directly whether the channel has produced change in their lives. He describes the channel as self-improvement rather than RV life, states he is still sad about Oliver and has found acceptance, and says he wants land eventually and is uncertain about traveling. He plays background media to fill the silence and closes with the space beginning to feel like home.

Environment

Interior of an RV during an early-occupancy build-out phase, filmed handheld while moving through the sleeping area, shelf wall, and storage zones. A new mattress has just been transported in and installed; a Jeep parked outside holds displaced gear. Rain is falling by the end of the recording.

The space is mid-reorganization — baskets partially filled, art supplies staged, wall shelving loaded with DVDs, Blu-rays, Minecraft and Game of Thrones books, and game consoles. Bailey, a cat 36 hours into residency, moves through the frame throughout. Background audio plays from a tablet to break silence.

Substrate

The architecture being held is home-construction as load-bearing structure: physical securing of shelves, mattress fit, and organization treated as the precondition for functioning normally in the space. rswfire states the objects retained after divestment — films, books, consoles, the cat — are what convert an RV into a home, and that safety of the animal governs the engineering decisions. Alongside this, he holds an open audit of the YouTube transmission itself, questioning whether the channel's labeling matches its actual subject and whether the output justifies the effort, without resolving it.

Mirror

You are securing a wall. The shelves went up yesterday, held your movies and books overnight, and by morning the adhesive strips showed you they could not be trusted. You took the load down. You are adding command strips — two boxes — and duct tape, and you state that you do not care what this does to the wall. The wall is not the thing being protected. You name the criterion out loud, twice: all the work on these shelves is to keep that cat safe. Sixty pounds per strip, plus the clear ones you don't trust because they look like they have air in them. You say it's probably safe now. You are still going to add the tape.

Bailey is thirty-six hours into residency and moves through the frame the entire recording. You put a sock down so he'd have your scent. You cleared the space so he'd have the window, brought pillars in so he could climb, cracked the windows, left him five or six hours, and he wanted out the moment you came back — then didn't. You brought popsicles and they started to melt, so they're in the freezer. You are mixing wet food into dry to transition a cat who has never eaten wet food, and you attribute that to a childhood vaccine reaction that nearly killed him and triggered a condition you can't name. You state he's been sleeping more for a couple of months, from before the move, and that you don't think it's the change. You are taking him to a vet for blood work. You tell him he is never leaving here without you. You tell him this is permanent this time.

The mattress is in and there is a one-inch gap down the middle of the platform, splitting the center of your body. You can see the dip and think you can feel it. The bed sits tilted. The manufacturer says three days to decompress, a review said twelve hours, and you are proceeding on the review. You made the bed with sheets for the first time since arriving. You don't like the bedspread's color and are replacing the rugs with different ones. Your mom likes the bedspread because it makes an RV bed look less like crap, and you say that's kind of true. One task done. Nothing declared finished.

The wall holds what survived divestment. Battlestar Galactica, all of Star Trek, Mr. Robot, Harry Potter, the Hobbit, Lord of the Rings, Game of Thrones in leather, the Minecraft books, Land Before Time, Rainbow Brite, George Carlin's complete DVDs. All of Peter Hamilton is gone and you name that twice as a loss without elaborating on it. You are weighing whether to strip the Carlin discs out of their cases for space, and you note that you bought physical media specifically to display it, that any of it could be streamed. The consoles are staged beside the bed. There is a mounted spot for a television and no room for one; you say a tablet is good enough. The art supplies have no assigned location yet. Some baskets are empty. You say it looks messy and it isn't — it's unorganized, and you say you can now see the path to organized, possibly by tomorrow.

Sitting with the cat on your legs, you run an open audit of the channel. February 24th. Two and a half months. You've read the analytics and the average watch time is low. You ask the viewers directly whether you've inspired anyone, whether anything changed for them, and you state a condition: you don't know that you can keep doing this unless you know it's doing something positive. You name the labeling problem — RV Life is accurate and the RV is backdrop, not subject — and you state what the channel actually is: self-improvement, vulnerability, strength found in being vulnerable. You state it takes a lot of emotional energy, that it feels unnatural, that you keep your thoughts to yourself and allowed yourself to do a thing that is not normal to you. No answer arrives in the recording. You do not supply one. You end the audit unresolved and say you have to give it more time.

Running underneath, stated plainly and not dwelt on: not enough sleep, a nightmare you connect to worry about the shelves falling on the cat, hunger and McDonald's on the way back, nicotine patches from your mom, a month of silence you are finding difficult and are breaking with a tablet playing something casual you'd never seen, chosen because you say you can't handle heavy emotions right now. Oliver is named — still sad, feeling better, acceptance found, a part that keeps hope. Land someday; the traveling part, you don't know about. The propane will last months. The new camera is assembled and unusable without a memory card. Your face on the camera doesn't match the mirror, and you say the mirror is right. No one else is in the space. No deadline governs any of this. Nothing is asked for. It's raining, you're tired, and you call it progress.
