[0:00] hey guys so it's going to be super hot
[0:03] today going to try to get a slevel I
[0:06] didn't get I didn't I didn't do it
[0:08] yesterday I just there were so many
[0:10] other things I was doing and I had a lot
[0:11] of cleaning up to do so once I did that
[0:14] I figured i' do that overnight and then
[0:17] when I got up in the morning I'd get a
[0:19] level so that's what I'm doing now um
[0:23] and then once I've done that I can just
[0:24] get reflective on all the windows
[0:25] hopefully keep us cool in here cuz it
[0:27] might get real hot um I just wanted to
[0:29] show you that so that is what I did to
[0:32] my bed
[0:33] platform You' think that's good enough
[0:35] right I mean there is a very small
[0:37] difference it's not a very big one
[0:40] though so maybe it just is this mattress
[0:42] I don't
[0:43] know I mean I don't think there's really
[0:45] any more I could do right I mean if you
[0:48] guys have some thoughts on this I'd love
[0:50] to hear them because I would really like
[0:52] to get some sleep M's been demanding to
[0:54] go out a whole lot
[0:56] more he was a terrorist last night
[1:02] so I'll come get you
[1:06] soon have going have fed anything he'll
[1:09] he'll he'll forget about me in a
[1:11] minute but you know I got to get the
[1:13] slide in so it's best for him to be out
[1:15] there and I have to check carefully that
[1:17] this slide doesn't hit my desktop over
[1:22] here I don't know what I'm going to De
[1:24] with it yet just keep it safe for now
[1:28] it's definitely not fun having to pull
[1:29] this mattress off every single time it's
[1:33] kind of heavy it's bulky you know you
[1:35] got these weird angles you're trying to
[1:36] get it around and so I have been
[1:39] thinking about what's a better solution
[1:41] for me and I was thinking you know do
[1:43] what the van lifers do just get padding
[1:45] for part of this bed platform and use
[1:48] that instead you know as long as it's
[1:50] comfortable I don't care it's just it's
[1:53] not level and I just feel it splitting
[1:56] right in half right where my back is at
[1:59] so that's just been a problem for me
[2:02] then one day I think that I might
[2:04] actually tear this whole thing out see
[2:05] what's under there and see if I can work
[2:08] around it and maybe make it so the The
[2:10] Mattress comes this way instead of this
[2:13] way so it's not even on the slide maybe
[2:15] I could even use my bed with the slide
[2:18] in I mean that would be nice cuz the way
[2:21] it is now if I'm overnighting somewhere
[2:23] you know I haven't had to do that yet
[2:24] but it's going to be in my
[2:26] future
[2:27] um not really sure how how do with that
[2:31] so um yeah see this is the part I hate
[2:34] most having to just stack everything up
[2:36] on the
[2:37] slide cuz it doesn't have a place
[2:40] yet if everything just had a place and I
[2:44] never had to do that I would hate this
[2:46] less you
[2:48] know just there's not that much so I
[2:51] just I need more storage like I just
[2:53] need to redo this
[2:55] area but until then I just got to figure
[2:58] something out cuz I don't like doing
[3:00] this part this part is just not
[3:04] fun I don't mind putting my blankets and
[3:07] stuff up here you know and the things
[3:09] that going under the bed and the solar
[3:11] panels all of that I don't mind this so
[3:14] much
[3:16] really but this this is
[3:19] torture it's almost like things need two
[3:22] places they need their there their space
[3:26] when you're Camp somewhere and they need
[3:28] their space when you're traveling or
[3:30] doing what I'm doing which is just
[3:31] leveling this thing but I will get
[3:34] better at this I know I will I'll come
[3:36] up with solutions to just make this
[3:38] easier just right now it just it's not
[3:41] fun I'm ready to bring the slide and now
[3:43] so the reason I stopped trying to level
[3:45] with that one day a big part of it was
[3:48] because it was making this noise that
[3:49] just concerned me it wasn't that people
[3:51] were watching like I just put that out
[3:53] of my mind did what I had to do but it
[3:55] was making this noise that just sounded
[3:57] awful I'm going to see if it does it now
[4:00] I got to turn my my mic has noise
[4:02] cancelling on it I need to turn that off
[4:04] for this so you can hear it it's this
[4:07] button they you se's on now obviously
[4:10] I'll unplug all of that before I I move
[4:12] it to level it even though I'm only
[4:13] moving like a foot right so hopefully
[4:16] this doesn't go too bad I'll show you
[4:18] what it looks like when I've got to
[4:20] bring everything in I just got to find a
[4:22] better solution you know there stuff
[4:26] everywhere so hopefully it doesn't sound
[4:28] too bad little
[4:31] worried let's
[4:33] see I mean I know I got everything off
[4:37] they still get worried about stuff like
[4:39] this this stuff is not in the
[4:41] way oh I need to move that
[4:45] stuff kind of got this stuff pretty
[4:47] organized it's all just um kitchen
[4:51] stuff those are glass plates
[4:55] though I don't know if that was a good
[4:57] idea or not but it's hard to eat of
[5:00] paper all the time but is not very
[5:02] environmentally friendly I know that
[5:03] area is fine I even moved my computer um
[5:06] a different way just just to be
[5:08] careful I don't think this is a
[5:12] problem so that's supposed to be taped
[5:15] down I don't have a I don't have a big
[5:17] ant problem but I can't help it I
[5:21] don't I don't want to deal with ants cuz
[5:23] they always get into my cat's
[5:26] food
[5:28] so I think we're ready to
[5:31] go oh my God I hate this
[5:34] part I know that I need to grease it
[5:37] somehow but I don't know how to do
[5:40] it let me just check on
[5:43] Bailey I'm always worried he's going to
[5:45] figure out how to get out of there but
[5:47] he's to be honest he's not that smart of
[5:49] a cat I know that's a little messy I'm
[5:51] going to clean that
[5:52] up um all right here we
[5:58] go that
[6:01] noise it didn't used to do that it had
[6:03] the popping noise but not the other
[6:05] noises this is not so bad
[6:09] actually yeah this ain't so
[6:12] bad
[6:15] oops that noise whatever is making that
[6:25] noise that noise
[6:33] that noise is killing me I will take it
[6:36] to that camper place and just ask them
[6:38] to I don't I'll show you when I'm done
[6:41] leveling I just don't think that I can
[6:44] get to it myself I just need to look up
[6:46] here make sure we're
[6:50] good we
[6:53] are okay so I can't I shouldn't be doing
[6:56] this on uh a chair that
[7:02] bues can definitely I mean you could
[7:04] feel it Rock when it came in it was
[7:07] like
[7:11] um definitely off
[7:13] balance let's just take a look at the
[7:15] bubbles
[7:20] here so as good as I can get that
[7:25] one oh I need to bring the awning in too
[7:31] see this one's confusing cuz I'm going
[7:33] to bring the slide out and I think it
[7:35] makes a bubble
[7:36] go this way or that way I don't
[7:42] know it doesn't need a lot actually I
[7:44] put it up too
[7:46] high it doesn't need a lot I probably
[7:49] put this up too high but then when I did
[7:51] this it didn't feel like it was right I
[7:55] didn't the bubbles weren't right either
[7:59] I don't know I got to figure this out
[8:01] today it's already like 80° out and I
[8:04] just need to get Bailey in the cool
[8:08] air
[8:11] so yeah I hate this part but if I get it
[8:15] right
[8:16] today
[8:19] then if I get it right today I can get
[8:22] my level mate Pro Set up that should
[8:25] make it easier in the
[8:27] future so that's what I'm going to do
[8:31] this is another thing I'm this probably
[8:33] won't be a problem because I can bring
[8:35] those down when I have my stabilizers
[8:37] down and I forget to bring them up
[8:38] before bringing in the side I can't get
[8:40] it get it out
[8:43] um but this shouldn't be a problem cuz
[8:45] these work differently but they're not
[8:47] doing a great job it's really Rocky in
[8:50] there
[8:51] so I don't know I need to figure out a
[8:53] better placement for them and I have two
[8:55] more they're not they're not on here
[8:57] anywhere they're just in storage in one
[8:59] of the Bays if I can figure out good
[9:02] placement for these four things I think
[9:04] that would help too guess I can show you
[9:07] my cool new tires now right there they
[9:10] are they all look like this even this
[9:12] spare
[9:14] Cooper Discoverer
[9:18] AT3 they look they look mean you can see
[9:23] them like from a different
[9:26] angle they just look like mean tires I
[9:29] like
[9:30] that always remember your Starling cable
[9:33] I have already snapped one of these some
[9:35] of you know that so just remember to get
[9:38] your Starling cable out of
[9:40] there I would hate to have to buy
[9:42] another one of
[9:44] these I think we're
[9:46] ready got the awning in I think I'm just
[9:50] going to pull this up a little bit and
[9:51] then try from
[9:54] there it was a lot more level last time
[9:57] so hopefully this goes well I'm done
[10:01] it's not perfect but we're a lot closer
[10:03] than we were I'll just show you so I did
[10:06] this on the I figured if I'm trying to
[10:08] LIF this side I have to do it on all the
[10:09] tires so that
[10:11] one then the two back
[10:14] here
[10:17] um and the slide is out
[10:20] so accounted for it it's pretty level
[10:23] it's pretty good you
[10:25] know not sure about this side I was a
[10:27] little confused I think
[10:30] so I put just one little one
[10:34] there and you know it's just it's close
[10:36] to Center but it's not quite there but
[10:38] that's really close I'm pretty happy
[10:40] with that Bailey was outside the whole
[10:43] time I'm right here buddy I'm coming in
[10:45] yeah this definitely feels a lot more
[10:47] level I'm happy with this I would like
[10:50] to you know get the other side working
[10:52] better but um do that another day I
[10:55] think it's kind of hard because when
[10:56] you're on a I mean you have dual tires
[10:58] right they're not necessarily sitting
[11:00] flat themselves so I don't know how you
[11:02] account for that I was I was going to
[11:04] show you that it feels like the you know
[11:07] the two tires on one side are not
[11:09] they're not flat either so I don't know
[11:12] how you account for that feel about
[11:17] that were you stressed out I saw you
[11:20] sitting in the
[11:21] shade near the under the picnic table so
[11:25] you're fine
[11:26] right yeah okay feels like we're going
[11:30] downhill this way well you saw the
[11:32] bubble it's so
[11:34] close I don't know how to solve
[11:38] that cuz you can't just put it on one
[11:41] side and you got to lift the other side
[11:43] but then the other side becomes Unbound
[11:45] I am so why are you doing that oh my
[11:50] God he just clawed my chair never done
[11:55] that yesterday he bit my my shin cuz he
[11:59] was meowing he wanted to go out he bit
[12:01] my shin he has never done that either oh
[12:04] my God this cat is changing the word of
[12:07] advice don't ever get a fulls siiz
[12:09] mattress that you have to take off the
[12:11] bed every time you bring the slide in
[12:13] because you will not enjoy that plus you
[12:15] don't really have the space for it this
[12:17] is not fun I am definitely going to come
[12:20] up with a new strategy for this but I
[12:22] did get a sheets while I was at Walmart
[12:24] yesterday they're still in my
[12:26] Jeep out of breath
[12:29] um so I'm going to put those on now we
[12:32] can sleep like civilized people these
[12:34] are some nice sheets very soft they
[12:38] smell
[12:41] wretched what is that
[12:43] [Music]
[12:53] about oops forgot to turn on the noise
[12:56] cancelling turn it back on I don't know
[12:59] that I really want that on there it is
[13:01] so hot at night and everything like I
[13:05] don't really like blankets
[13:07] anymore I know what that one's thinking
[13:09] I'm not done
[13:11] though you're not going to let me make
[13:13] the bed are
[13:16] you I got to put the comforter on
[13:21] Bailey I know this is vironment isn't
[13:23] really conducive to the color white but
[13:25] I just needed to brighten it up in here
[13:28] it's too dark everything's too dark
[13:30] that's about as good as it gets making a
[13:32] bed in
[13:34] here can't forget the final touches
[13:38] though right Bailey we need our teddy
[13:43] bears Samantha Bastion never named this
[13:48] one he's cute though or she I mean
[13:51] probably as a mother
[13:53] right all
[13:57] right let's get Bastion up here
[14:01] first never get him to stay we are more
[14:04] level
[14:05] now that will
[14:08] help of course it
[14:10] will
[14:12] Sebastian they're both
[14:15] male why are your heads
[14:20] backwards all
[14:22] right
[14:25] [Music]
[14:26] there looks good doesn't it Bailey
[14:30] H how are we
[14:33] level this feels more level
[14:36] wow it's amazing how little tiny bits of
[14:39] degrees can make such a
[14:41] difference if I'll sleep
[14:45] better it feels better nope I started to
[14:49] get up and it just I'm telling you it's
[14:52] because of that little Gap like I know
[14:55] that this is down further Here Comes
[14:57] Bailey you're going to make me sneak
[15:00] KN all
[15:03] right was it a stressful
[15:06] morning but it's
[15:08] stressful I do have to get reflected cuz
[15:10] on the Windows buddy it's going to get
[15:12] hot in here
[15:13] today time is
[15:15] it it's
[15:17] noon I learned something today it's like
[15:21] I asked you at DBT why does it get
[15:23] hotter in the afternoons I forgot what
[15:25] it said it was
[15:26] called but it explained it to me
[15:29] I always thought you know noon was the
[15:31] hottest don't work that
[15:36] way would really like to get some sleep
[15:39] I
[15:40] just you think a mattress like this
[15:42] would be enough I don't
[15:45] understand it's just not
[15:48] comfortable and that g my back like it's
[15:52] just got to figure it out mey I really
[15:56] need to get up
[15:59] can you go look out that window H go
[16:01] look out the
[16:03] window hell no what are you
[16:07] doing
[16:09] Bailey I can't be stuck
[16:12] here can't be stuck
[16:16] here that you
[16:18] can I take priority I can't believe you
[16:20] bet me last
[16:22] night and you clawed my chair why would
[16:25] you do that you never do stuff like that
[16:29] what's going on with
[16:33] you you're a lot of work
[16:36] Buddy please go look out the window come
[16:38] on go look out the window oh my God he
[16:41] is resisting me
[16:43] bile
[16:45] seriously please go look out the
[16:48] window can't open it from
[16:53] here Bailey come on come
[16:57] on blanket here's
[17:01] his here you want your
[17:04] blanket it's normally at the end of the
[17:06] bed
[17:07] but here you go
[17:10] buddy I hear you purring see you didn't
[17:13] need to be on me to be happy you did
[17:17] not don't think it's psychological I am
[17:21] positive that that that goes down
[17:23] further I don't like it should have
[17:26] brought out my you know that b thing and
[17:29] looked at it I don't know if it makes
[17:32] sense to put it on a mattress I don't
[17:34] know check it that
[17:37] way I'm going to have to fix this
[17:39] somehow I actually haven't even been
[17:41] sleeping like a normal person I've been
[17:43] kind of like my hat is right there just
[17:45] at an angle like I'm trying to sleep on
[17:48] half the bed now now that we are
[17:50] basically level I am going to do all the
[17:53] extra steps which includes these things
[17:57] here um if you guys go back back to my
[17:59] like earliest videos you'll learn when I
[18:01] discovered this and it just helps
[18:03] insulate it a little better on the slide
[18:06] area see if I can show you while holding
[18:09] you and trying to do it all right so the
[18:11] longest
[18:13] one goes under this side piece
[18:17] here this is very
[18:20] interesting
[18:22] because it's got a little
[18:26] Gap oh man probably need to better at
[18:31] that so make sure your gap's on top I
[18:35] guess push that in
[18:39] there then you can go like that and just
[18:42] slide it I love
[18:44] this must have been using this for
[18:47] something else that's as far as that
[18:50] went you know what I think I have to put
[18:52] two
[18:54] here so yeah yeah that one covers all
[18:58] the way to the end and I'll show you in
[18:59] a sec so
[19:02] probably feels kind of long maybe it's
[19:05] this one yeah it's this one okay so this
[19:08] one I can slide under
[19:13] this probably should have started with
[19:15] that one it's a little hard to do while
[19:18] holding you guys
[19:20] but basically I can get it all the way
[19:23] to the end like
[19:27] this there
[19:29] that is as far as it goes then I just
[19:33] squeeze this in
[19:35] here I mean it can even be like that
[19:38] it's all good I guess and then just get
[19:40] that one in there as good as I
[19:45] can all right so then I come over
[19:49] here you know squeeze this one all the
[19:52] way to the
[19:54] end the length is right so I do that
[20:00] just push it in under the
[20:04] slide and that one gets it to the length
[20:07] of yeah I can feel it under here
[20:10] basically they
[20:13] fit not perfectly very very close though
[20:17] I'm sure it
[20:18] helps can feel something under here that
[20:20] I don't know what that
[20:24] is is that
[20:27] insulation sure hope that's supposed to
[20:30] be
[20:31] there is that feels like some kind of
[20:36] insulation can feel wires and stuff I
[20:40] think that's meant to be
[20:42] there okay and then one goes under my
[20:46] bed so you just got this area
[20:50] here I'm show
[20:54] you you know it goes all the way and
[20:57] then I just push it under the slide like
[20:59] that all the way
[21:02] across and I I don't know that it helps
[21:04] I assume it does
[21:09] though M's like what's what's going
[21:14] on all right I just s this all the way
[21:19] under sorry
[21:22] way man wonder how much of that I didn't
[21:25] show you my video wasn't on I'm going to
[21:28] have to check that anyways in case I
[21:30] didn't see it put another one under my
[21:33] bed because the slide mechanism if you
[21:35] have one like me you'll see it and just
[21:37] slide it under there and then on the
[21:40] side side
[21:43] here sometimes I put the last one I have
[21:46] there I have to tape it in place though
[21:50] so um cuz it just doesn't look perfectly
[21:53] sealed to me I mean it
[21:55] is it's it doesn't look like
[21:59] um it's broken it you know it just looks
[22:01] like a design fla I guess that's i'
[22:03] would say that because it is so hot
[22:06] today or going to be I'll probably put
[22:08] that on the front window I want to get
[22:10] something else that I can put on the
[22:11] outside I saw someone who had one here
[22:13] and then I started looking them up but
[22:16] um that curtain like is amazing it will
[22:19] keep it 10 to 15° cooler in here versus
[22:22] what's in there like that's incredible I
[22:24] don't know how it does that makes me
[22:27] want to get get them for all my windows
[22:30] really even if it looks stupid or
[22:33] they're hard to deal with or I just it's
[22:36] amazing that is such a difference but
[22:39] I'll probably put that on the
[22:41] windshield but I would like to get this
[22:43] for out what it was called but it just
[22:45] kind of wraps around your windows you
[22:46] got to get one that
[22:48] matches the type of vehicle you have um
[22:51] but I did find one it's a couple hundred
[22:53] bucks and I don't know how I'd get it
[22:54] delivered to me but I definitely want to
[22:57] get one cuz then I can put my stuff up
[22:59] on my Dash again you know so I had to
[23:01] take all that down in order to put that
[23:03] up I'd like to put that stuff back up
[23:05] there these are the rugs I got from
[23:07] Walmart yesterday love them uh they
[23:11] didn't have any more of these Runners
[23:13] and I wouldn't have bought it but now
[23:14] that I know kind of how it looks in here
[23:16] and how much space it's taking I'd like
[23:18] to replace that rug that rug is I've had
[23:20] it for years it's probably and it's been
[23:23] well it's not a rug that I should really
[23:24] be having in here I wanted to just get
[23:26] another one of these for there and then
[23:28] another one of these for here so I'm
[23:32] going to check in a few days and see if
[23:33] they have any more maybe they restock
[23:35] them think I'll leave it there um for
[23:39] today I hope that you guys are having an
[23:41] awesome week I really do I hope you are
[23:43] have a good day

Narrative

He had put it off a day. There had been cleaning to do, and other things, and the reasoning he states is simple enough: do the cleaning overnight, level in the morning, then get reflective covering on all the windows before the heat arrived. So rswfire began the morning already behind a rising number — eighty degrees outside and climbing, Bailey needing cool air, and a rig sitting slightly wrong on its tires. He started at the bed, showing the camera what he had done to the platform the day before, asking whether it was good enough. There was still a difference. Small, he said. Not big. Maybe it was just the mattress. He put the question out to whoever was watching, because what he wanted from all of this was to get some sleep.

Bailey went outside first — the cat had been demanding out, had been a terrorist the night before, and it was safest to have him beyond the walls while the slide came in. Then came the part rswfire says he hates most. The full-size mattress had to come off, heavy and bulky and awkward at its angles, and everything that had no place of its own had to be stacked onto the slide floor. He narrated the redesign while doing the labor: padding instead of a mattress, the way the van lifers do it; or tearing the whole platform out one day to see what sits underneath, rotating the bed so it runs the other direction and clears the slide entirely, so he could sleep with the slide in when overnighting somewhere, which he hasn't yet had to do but says is coming. The stacking, he said, was torture — not the blankets, not the solar panels, that part he doesn't mind. It was that things need two places: one for camp, one for travel. He said he would get better at this. He said he would come up with solutions. Right now it just wasn't fun.

Before retracting, he ran the diagnostic he had abandoned once before. The slide had made a noise that concerned him enough to stop mid-attempt on an earlier day, and he wanted it recorded properly, so he reached over and switched the noise cancelling off his mic so the sound would carry. He walked the interior first — the kitchen shelving with its glass plates, which he wasn't sure had been a good idea but paper all the time isn't great either; the computer, already moved a different way just to be careful; a strip of ant tape that was supposed to be down and wasn't, because he doesn't have an ant problem but doesn't want one, because they always get into Bailey's food. Then he brought it in. The popping came first and it wasn't so bad. Then the other noise arrived, the one he says is killing him, the one that didn't used to be there. He decided he would take it to the camper place and ask, because he doesn't think he can reach whatever it is himself.

The leveling itself was arithmetic against uncertainty. The awning had to come in. The stabilizers were down and not doing much — he says it's still rocky in there, that he needs better placement, that two more sit unused in a bay. He read the bubbles and doubted them, because the slide was coming back out and he wasn't sure which way that shifts the reading. He raised one side too high, brought it back down, worked the blocks under all the tires on that side rather than one, and stopped when the bubble sat close to center but not quite. Somewhere in there he turned the camera on the new Cooper Discoverer AT3s and said they look mean, and he said it approvingly. He reminded whoever was watching to always pull the Starlink cable before moving, because he has already snapped one.

Then the slide went back out and Bailey came in, and rswfire said it felt different immediately — that it was amazing how little tiny bits of degrees make such a difference. He put the new Walmart sheets on, soft ones that smelled wretched out of the package, and a white comforter he chose because everything in there is too dark and he wanted to brighten it. Samantha and Bastion went up last, the teddy bears, one of them also called Sebastian, both of them male, their heads facing the wrong way. And then he lay down on the finished bed and found the gap still there. He got partway up and felt it. He said he knows it's down further on that side, that it isn't psychological, that he should have brought the level out and checked it directly though he isn't sure a reading on a mattress means anything. He mentioned he hasn't been sleeping like a normal person — angled across, using half the bed.

By then it was noon, and he noted that he had learned that day that noon isn't the hottest part of the afternoon, that he'd asked and gotten an explanation and forgotten the name of it. Bailey was on his chest, purring, refusing repeated requests to go look out the window, and rswfire pointed out that the cat had bitten his shin the night before and clawed the chair that morning, both new behaviors, and asked him what was going on. Eventually he got up and ran the extra steps: the insulating pieces fitted under the slide, gap side up, sliding each one to the end, two where one didn't reach, one under the bed, one under the slide mechanism, the last taped along a seam that has never looked properly sealed to him — a design flaw, he figures. He talked through what he wants next: reflective on the windshield today, and eventually the exterior wrap covers he saw on someone else's rig, a couple hundred dollars and no clear way to get them delivered out here, but worth it, because that curtain runs the inside ten to fifteen degrees cooler and he doesn't understand how. He'd want them on every window, even if they look stupid. That would free the dash again, get his things back up there. He showed the new rugs, said he'd check in a few days to see if Walmart restocked the runners, decided that was enough for today, and told everyone he hoped they were having an awesome week.

Summary

rswfire documents a morning leveling operation on the RV ahead of forecasted heat, having deferred the task the previous day for cleaning and other work.

He walks through the slide-in sequence: pulling the full-size mattress off the bed platform, stacking loose items on the slide, securing the desktop computer, checking clearances, and bringing in the awning. He states this stacking step is the part he dislikes most, attributing it to a storage deficit — items lack dedicated places for both camped and traveling configurations.

He records a mechanical noise from the slide mechanism, disables mic noise cancelling to capture it, and decides to take it to a camper shop rather than attempt the repair himself.

Decisions and observations:

  • Lifts the driver-side tires plus two rear points; reports the result as close to level, not perfect
  • Plans to set up his LevelMate Pro now that the baseline is established
  • Considers tearing out the bed platform to reorient the mattress off the slide, or switching to van-lifer-style padding
  • Installs reflective/insulating panels under the slide and bed, notes one panel keeps interior temperature 10–15° cooler
  • Adds new Walmart sheets, comforter, and rugs; shows new Cooper Discoverer AT3 tires

He describes Bailey, his cat, biting his shin and clawing his chair — behavior he states is new — and keeps him outside during the slide operation. He asks viewers for input on the mattress gap at his back.

Environment

Interior of an RV parked at a campsite on a hot summer day, filmed handheld while moving through the living space — bed platform and slide-out area, kitchen shelving with glass plates, desktop computer station, dash and windshield. Exterior context appears through the door and windows: a picnic table with shade, dual rear tires, awning, Starlink cable running inside.

Ambient temperature is rising through the recording — stated at roughly 80°F early, with noon reached by the later portion. Walmart is referenced as the previous day's supply run. Bailey the cat is outside during the slide retraction and inside afterward.

Substrate

This is a signal about calibrating a mobile dwelling to physical tolerances — degrees of level, thermal load, storage placement — and documenting the calibration process as it happens rather than after it resolves. rswfire holds the position that the rig is a system under adjustment, not a finished object: every complaint is paired with a stated redesign hypothesis (padding instead of mattress, rotating the bed axis, adding storage, Level Mate Pro, exterior window covers). The architecture being built is a set of standing solutions that remove repeated manual labor; what is being dissolved is the assumption that the factory configuration is the correct one.

Actions

Performed

  • •put the cat outside
  • •cleared the desktop and kitchen area for slide retraction
  • •pulled the mattress off the bed platform
  • •stacked belongings on the slide
  • •toggled mic noise cancelling to record the slide noise

  • •checked bubble levels
  • •drove up onto leveling blocks on multiple tires
  • •re-extended the slide
  • •verified improved level
  • •put new sheets and comforter on the bed
  • •placed teddy bears on the bed
  • •installed foam insulation strips around the slide seams
  • •showed the tires, stabilizers, and rugs on camera

Referenced

  • •skipped leveling the previous day
  • •cleaned up the interior
  • •modified the bed platform
  • •bought sheets and rugs at Walmart
