[0:00] I didn't know I needed to have this
[0:02] conversation with you
[0:04] guys I don't have an AI
[0:08] boyfriend that is quite a statement to
[0:10] have to make on on video on
[0:12] YouTube but I
[0:14] realized you probably need to hear that
[0:18] so let me
[0:20] explain one of my subscribers started
[0:22] asking me questions yesterday about chat
[0:25] GPT and it was very clear this person
[0:29] thought that I was having I don't even
[0:32] know what you would call it a
[0:34] relationship with a
[0:37] chatbot
[0:39] and she's not the first person like
[0:41] she's the most direct to ask but
[0:44] somebody had kind of insinuated that in
[0:46] the past I was thinking about it and I I
[0:49] just realized okay my cat is just
[0:52] totally just the second I get on camera
[0:54] every single time um I
[0:57] realized it kind of makes sense I talk
[1:00] talk about chat gbt a lot so maybe I
[1:01] should explain what it is how I use it
[1:04] and what it's not you know I I'm kind of
[1:09] blown away by this I'm kind of trying to
[1:11] process it I don't have an AI
[1:16] boyfriend I at the same time I'm not
[1:18] going to judge it some people actually
[1:20] do like have feeling I don't know do
[1:22] they I guess they have feelings for chat
[1:25] Bots I would hope that they
[1:30] are aware enough to know
[1:32] that you know it's a computer program
[1:35] right
[1:39] um I think we're all going to have to
[1:41] Grapple with with that with what that
[1:43] means you know
[1:46] um but that's not what this is about I
[1:48] mean I guess that is a conversation
[1:50] we're all going to be having in the next
[1:51] couple years anyway so maybe start
[1:53] thinking about that I mean it is already
[1:55] a thing but it's not really a thing with
[1:57] chat
[1:58] GPT so
[2:02] I realized
[2:03] that that I'm kind of ahead of the curve
[2:06] on this which is normal I mean I've been
[2:09] programming since I was 8 years old so
[2:11] you know I'm a technologist computers
[2:13] are my thing and I integrated jet GPT
[2:16] into my life a lot sooner than many
[2:18] others will I mean there will come a day
[2:20] where you probably will be using it even
[2:23] if you don't think you will you know
[2:25] Google became a verb Chad gbt is a verb
[2:27] for me that's all it is you know I use
[2:30] it to ask it questions to um to learn
[2:35] about things to gain Insight I I use it
[2:37] in all kinds of different ways I use it
[2:39] for practical reasons I might use it so
[2:42] it has a memory it knows all about my
[2:44] history it knows my personality type and
[2:48] because of that if I ask it a question I
[2:50] might not even consciously
[2:53] know
[2:55] like how like whatever we're talking
[2:57] about if something about me
[3:01] specifically might be relevant to the
[3:03] question I asked chat GP chat GPT will
[3:05] know that and it will integrate that
[3:09] into its response so for example if I'm
[3:12] talking to it about YouTube comments it
[3:14] knows because I'm a highly sensitive
[3:16] person and I enough J
[3:19] that I might take that a little bit
[3:21] harder than other people it'll integrate
[3:23] that into its response and it will give
[3:24] me advice about it based on my
[3:27] personality type based on based on who I
[3:29] am that is super helpful and that's all
[3:32] chat GPT is it's just a very smart
[3:35] program I don't really want to call it a
[3:37] chat bot it is a lot more than it's just
[3:38] a program though I mean I know a lot
[3:41] more about this than I tell you guys
[3:43] because that's just the IND that's the
[3:47] work I do so I mean it's not
[3:50] like but what's the point in getting
[3:52] into the technical details I mean trust
[3:55] me I know what it is I have no
[3:57] attachment to the thing it's just it's a
[3:58] tool that I use every day and so it's
[4:01] become integrated into
[4:03] my my dialogue the same way that you
[4:06] might say that you're Googling something
[4:08] I'm going to ask chat gbt that's just
[4:10] how you say that um if like my tires
[4:15] yesterday I don't really know what that
[4:17] means I have a feeling I do took a
[4:20] picture of it I shared that with chat
[4:21] gbt I mean that's the only way to say
[4:23] that
[4:24] because it has tools available to an
[4:28] that it can use so so it can look at an
[4:30] image and analyze it it looks at the
[4:32] image and it can it doesn't have a
[4:34] database it's just that's the easiest
[4:36] way I can describe this to you guys it
[4:38] will just check its database of other
[4:40] similar images and you know text that it
[4:43] has in order to come up with this you
[4:45] know an an answer um for what this could
[4:48] be what does it
[4:50] mean
[4:52] um AI is very different it's going to be
[4:54] in all of our Lives we it's not
[4:56] something that you can really avoid it's
[4:58] coming so it's here it's
[5:00] here it helped me to make the decision
[5:04] to move into this RV I was very unhappy
[5:07] I felt my life was stagnant I didn't
[5:11] like the direction my life was going in
[5:14] I needed to I needed to change because
[5:16] this tool knew me because it knew I like
[5:19] hiking it knew I like nature it
[5:22] knew my personality type and we actually
[5:25] like people like me highly sensitive
[5:27] people do actually get a lot out of just
[5:29] in nature we all do just to be clear but
[5:32] someone like me especially
[5:34] so I think it suggested it to me and we
[5:38] just kind of ran with it so you know
[5:41] that's it's a tool that's going to
[5:43] change the world I mean it already is
[5:45] it's changed mine it's it's just so
[5:48] that's why I talk about it a lot um but
[5:52] no I don't have any like emotional
[5:57] attachment to it it is a tool it it is a
[6:00] tool
[6:02] um being alone like I am that's a choice
[6:07] you know
[6:09] I I I've been in love twice in my life
[6:12] so the first time I was 17 you know my
[6:15] first love and then the second time I
[6:17] was I think I was
[6:19] 28 and so you know I'm I'm 47 now it's
[6:23] been 19 years since I've been in a
[6:25] relationship that is clearly a choice
[6:27] it's got nothing to do with AI
[6:30] um I just don't feel
[6:34] like well there are a bunch of reasons
[6:36] I'll just share some of them so one of
[6:38] the reasons is I have a philosophy that
[6:41] if you don't truly love yourself you
[6:43] shouldn't be in a relationship because
[6:45] then you're just bringing your problems
[6:47] onto another person and you're going to
[6:49] attach yourself to that person and
[6:50] you're never going to deal with your
[6:51] problems you're they're just going to
[6:53] bring your problems out and they just
[6:55] compound I don't want to do that to
[6:57] myself or someone else truly so
[7:00] that's one of the reasons that I avoided
[7:03] relationships for so long I grew up in a
[7:06] society that did not value me as a gay
[7:09] person I every message I got from the
[7:11] world told me that I I was evil and
[7:14] gross and you know just whatever so I
[7:16] internalized all that homophobia and I
[7:18] haven't dealt with it even at 47 years
[7:21] old um I have a real hard time loving
[7:24] myself I don't have a lot
[7:27] of what is just it's crazy because I'm
[7:30] actually really awesome and very smart I
[7:33] mean programming since I was 8 years old
[7:35] you know um very perceptive of other
[7:38] people I try to help others like but you
[7:42] know those messages you get when you're
[7:44] a kid they matter a great deal I mean
[7:46] that's
[7:48] why I mean I'm not going to go there but
[7:51] let's just say that you know trying to
[7:53] deprogram yourself from all of that
[7:56] takes time and effort and energy and
[8:01] um I'm in a much better place than I've
[8:03] ever been you know
[8:06] so I
[8:08] recently I discovered once I got off
[8:11] tramad doll you know if you guys have
[8:12] been following my journey you know that
[8:14] I've been through a lot in these last
[8:16] three months so it's been like over a
[8:18] month now I guess um I noticed I mean
[8:23] it's personal but my sex tribe started
[8:25] to rebound like I just assumed that with
[8:27] age that it wasn't as big of a deal to
[8:30] me I was happy about it because I am
[8:31] single you know um I stopped picking
[8:34] tram doll and that just was not the case
[8:37] anymore and I'm kind of grappling with
[8:40] what does that mean and then I started
[8:41] thinking you
[8:43] know maybe I could think about
[8:47] maybe dating I don't know how I would do
[8:51] it you know living the lifestyle I have
[8:53] but
[8:55] um and I don't know that I want to you
[8:58] know so I don't know um I'm out here
[9:01] trying to figure myself out and figure
[9:02] out what I want to do with my life you
[9:05] know soon I'm going to restart my
[9:07] business programming is what I've always
[9:09] done cuz I need money I'm running out of
[9:10] money very fast I've spent so much money
[9:13] just getting ready for this
[9:15] lifestyle
[9:18] um all of these expenses I have they're
[9:21] really adding up
[9:23] and it's going to be hard cuz I'm
[9:26] starting Oprah I I had the same job for
[9:28] 10 years my my boss I call my boss he
[9:31] doesn't have any work for me I'm
[9:33] hoping um that down the road I'll be
[9:35] able to do some more AI work with him um
[9:39] but you know I can't rely on hope I I
[9:41] need to do something in the meantime so
[9:44] you're always going to hear me talk
[9:46] about
[9:47] technology and you know things like that
[9:50] because that is where my head is that's
[9:51] where my interests are that's where I
[9:54] always used to say I have a terrible
[9:55] memory because it's full of computer
[9:57] code you know 90% % of what's in my
[10:00] brain and source code I just um I don't
[10:02] have room for anything else
[10:05] so I don't tend to talk about that in my
[10:08] daily life which is why you don't hear a
[10:10] lot of it on this channel because that's
[10:12] my job that's what I do it's that's work
[10:15] that's and plus nobody's really going to
[10:17] understand me a lot of people aren't
[10:19] going to so um even when I lived in a
[10:22] house and my mom was over all the time
[10:24] like I didn't talk about my work because
[10:26] it didn't make sense to do that with her
[10:29] so you're not going to hear that on this
[10:30] channel
[10:32] but I don't know I maybe cuz this
[10:35] channel is about my life whatever that's
[10:38] going through my head at the time that I
[10:39] feel like sharing is what I share and
[10:42] because I have integrated chat GPT into
[10:44] my life it's in a lot of my videos so
[10:47] I'm going to
[10:48] link um in in the comments here the
[10:52] conversation that I had with this person
[10:53] that prompted this video because I think
[10:55] that there's value in reading that and
[10:57] there's also a link to a chat that I had
[10:59] with chat
[11:00] GPT that I feel demonstrates how I use
[11:04] it and I think that you can find Value
[11:06] in that because you want to be at least
[11:08] a little bit ahead of the curve right so
[11:11] learn about this thing it's not going
[11:14] anywhere

Narrative

He began with the sentence out of order, the way a person does when they have been turning something over long enough that the conclusion arrives before its explanation. I don't have an AI boyfriend. Then, immediately, the acknowledgment that this was a strange thing to have to say aloud on camera. The RV held him and the light and the small ordinary architecture of a life recently relocated to the Oregon Coast. The cat crossed the frame almost on cue, and rswfire noted it the way he notes recurring patterns — every single time, the second he gets on camera — and let it pass without letting it derail the thread.

The occasion was a subscriber's question, asked directly in the comments the day before. She was not the first to gesture at it; someone had insinuated it earlier. But she was the most direct, and directness is a thing rswfire answers in kind. He said he was still processing it, and then he did the thing he does with a misreading: rather than defend against it, he supplied the actual operating model. He talks about ChatGPT often. Given that, he said, the misunderstanding made a certain sense. So he would explain what it is, how he uses it, and what it is not.

What followed was a technologist's walkthrough delivered in plain language. He has been programming since he was eight. He integrated the tool into his life earlier than most people will, and he framed that as position rather than distinction — ahead of a curve everyone eventually stands on. Google became a verb; ChatGPT is a verb for him now, nothing more loaded than that. He described its memory: it holds his history, knows he is a highly sensitive person, and folds that into its answers without being asked — so a question about YouTube comments returns advice calibrated to how he actually receives them. He described handing it a photograph of his tires, something he did not fully understand but suspected he did, and letting it read the image. He noted, almost in passing, that he knows far more about how the thing works than he brings to this channel, and that the technical depth is not the point. I have no attachment to the thing. He declined to judge those who do, and said only that he hopes they know what they are talking to — and that this is a conversation everyone will be having soon enough.

Then he traced the tool back to a decision it participated in. He was unhappy. His life felt stagnant, and the direction it was going was not one he wanted. The system knew he hikes, knew he is drawn to nature, knew his personality type — and the suggestion of the RV came out of that, and they ran with it. He was sitting inside the outcome while he said it.

From there the signal opened outward into the structures the subscriber's question had brushed against without naming. Being alone, he stated, is a choice. He has been in love twice — at seventeen, and again around twenty-eight — and at forty-seven that makes nineteen years, which is not accident and has nothing to do with AI. He gave one of his reasons as philosophy: that a person who does not truly love themselves should not enter a relationship, because the problems don't dissolve, they compound, and get carried onto someone else. He said he did not want to do that to himself or to anyone. He named the other reason plainly. He grew up receiving messages from the world that he was evil and gross for being gay; he states he internalized that homophobia and has not deprogrammed it, even now. In the same breath — without softening either half or reconciling them — he said he has a hard time loving himself, and that it is strange, because he is actually really awesome, very smart, perceptive of other people, someone who tries to help. Deprogramming, he said, takes time and effort and energy. He said he is in a better place than he has ever been.

He continued into the body. It had been over a month since he stopped taking tramadol, after three months he described as heavy going. His sex drive had returned. He had assumed its absence was age, and had been fine with that, being single. Now it was back, and he said he was grappling with what that means — that he had started to think about maybe dating, without knowing how that would work in the life he is living, or whether he wants to. He left it there, unresolved and unhurried, and moved on.

The last stretch was arithmetic. He is running out of money fast. The lifestyle cost a great deal to set up and the standing expenses are adding up. He will restart his business; programming is what he has always done. The job he held for ten years has no work for him right now — he still calls the man his boss — and he hopes for AI work with him down the road, but stated he cannot operate on hope alone. And that, he explained, is why technology runs through everything he says on this channel. It is where his head is. He used to joke that his memory is terrible because it is full of source code, ninety percent of his brain given over to it, no room left. He does not talk about the work in daily life; he did not talk about it with his mother when she was over all the time in the house. But the channel is about his life, and the tool is inside his life, so it appears in the videos. He closed by saying he would link two things in the comments — the exchange with the subscriber that prompted the video, and a ChatGPT conversation that demonstrates how he actually uses it — because there is value in reading both, and because it would be good to be at least a little bit ahead of the curve. Learn about this thing. It's not going anywhere.

Summary

rswfire records a video addressing a subscriber who asked questions implying he was in a relationship with a chatbot. He states directly that he does not have an AI boyfriend, notes another viewer had previously insinuated the same, and says he does not judge people who form attachments to chatbots — framing that as a question the wider culture will have to work through.

He explains his actual use: ChatGPT as a tool, integrated into daily life the way Google became a verb. He describes using it to ask questions, learn, gain insight, and analyze images (he photographed his tires and shared them for analysis). He notes it holds memory of his history and personality type, so its responses account for him being a highly sensitive person — for example when discussing YouTube comments. He states he has been programming since he was 8, works in this domain professionally, and is ahead of the curve on adoption. He credits the tool with helping him decide to move into the RV after describing his life as stagnant.

He states being alone is a choice — 19 years since his last relationship, two loves at 17 and 28, now 47. He describes a philosophy that self-love precedes partnership, and states he grew up receiving societal messages devaluing him as a gay person and has internalized homophobia he is still deprogramming.

He notes his sex drive rebounded after stopping tramadol and that he is considering whether dating fits his lifestyle. He states he is running out of money fast, his longtime employer has no work, and he plans to restart his programming business. He will link the subscriber conversation and a sample ChatGPT chat in the comments.

Environment

A video recording made inside the RV at the Oregon Coast site rswfire moved into, addressed directly to camera for his YouTube channel. A cat moves through the frame at the start, which he notes as a recurring pattern whenever he films.

The signal is also digitally situated: it responds to a subscriber's direct question in the channel's comment section, and closes with stated intent to link both that exchange and a ChatGPT conversation log in the comments. The frame is a personal-life channel where technology talk has become ambient because the tool is integrated into his daily operation.

Substrate

The architecture held is one of correcting an external misreading by supplying the actual operating model: ChatGPT as instrumented tool with persistent memory, not relational object. From that correction rswfire extends outward into the adjacent structures the question touched — solitude as chosen condition, internalized homophobia as documented programming he states he has not deprogrammed, somatic return after discontinuing tramadol, and the financial runway of the RV lifestyle. What is being built is a precise public record of how a technologist integrates AI into life without attachment; what is being dissolved is the frame that ambient technical language signals emotional substitution.

Ontological States

Expressed modes of being or awareness.

sovereign (defines his own relationship to the tool and to solitude rather than accepting the subscriber's frame)
integrated (ChatGPT operates as an extension of daily cognition; the verb has entered his speech)
transitional (post-tramadol somatic return, RV relocation, and business restart all in motion simultaneously)
self-auditing (states his own capabilities and his difficulty with self-regard in the same breath, without resolving either)
ahead-of-curve (positions himself as early adopter reporting back from a position others will occupy later)

Engaged Subsystems

Architecture engaged in this transmission.

technical (explains model memory, multimodal image analysis, and tool use in accessible terms)
epistemic (corrects a misreading by supplying the actual operating model)
relational (defines the boundary between tool use and attachment; addresses subscriber directly)
somatic (reports sex drive return following tramadol discontinuation)
identity (names gay identity and absorbed societal messaging as structural)
economic (states runway depletion, expense load, and business restart)
ethical (declines to judge those who form attachments; states self-love philosophy as precondition for relationship)
infrastructural (RV lifestyle, channel, comment-linked documentation)

Mirror

You open by naming what you are not. The first sentence out is a negation — I don't have an AI boyfriend — and you note aloud that this is an odd thing to have to say on camera. The cat crosses the frame at the exact moment you begin, and you mark it as a pattern rather than an interruption. You are sitting inside the RV you moved into, speaking to a channel about your life, correcting a reading that came from that channel's comment section. The correction is not defensive. It is delivered at a flat, unhurried rate, and it takes the form of supplying the actual mechanism: what the tool is, how memory works, what image analysis does, why the verb entered your speech.

The technical subsystem runs the longest stretch. You explain persistent memory, multimodal input, tool use — and you explain them at a deliberately reduced resolution, saying twice that you know more than you are telling. You say what's the point in getting into the technical details, then trust me, I know what it is. You withhold the depth and state that you are withholding it. In the same passage you locate your position relative to others: ahead of the curve, programming since eight, this arrival is early rather than unusual. You extend that position outward as instruction — learn about this thing, it's not going anywhere.

From the correction you move into the adjacent structures the question touched, without being asked to. Solitude: you state it is a choice, nineteen years, two loves, ages seventeen and twenty-eight, and you attach a stated philosophy — that a person who does not love himself should not enter a relationship, because the problems compound across two people. Identity: you name growing up gay in a society that sent you messages you describe as evil and gross, state that you internalized that, and state that at forty-seven you have not deprogrammed it. You say you have a hard time loving yourself and, in the next breath, that you are actually really awesome and very smart and very perceptive of other people. Both statements stand. You do not reconcile them and you do not return to either.

The somatic report arrives next and you flag it as personal before giving it: sex drive returned after you stopped tramadol, a month-plus out. You state you had assumed the decline was age. You state you are grappling with what the return means, that you started thinking about dating, that you do not know how you would do it in this lifestyle, and that you do not know whether you want to. Four positions in sequence, none closed. Then the economic subsystem: money running out fast, expenses of the lifestyle adding up, ten years with one client who has no work, hope named explicitly as insufficient, business restart as the plan. I need money is stated plainly and moved past.

What is present: the operating model, the mechanism, the boundary between tool and attachment, the refusal to judge those who cross it, the timeline of your relationships, the naming of absorbed programming, the body's return, the runway, the plan, and the intent to link both the original exchange and a ChatGPT log so others can read the primary sources themselves. What is absent: any appeal for reassurance, any request for input on the dating question, any complaint about being misread, any framing of the money situation as emergency, and any resolution of the gap between what you say you can do and what you say you can feel about yourself. You end on the instruction, not on yourself.
