[0:00] good morning Fire
[0:02] Nation did I get away with it did you
[0:06] just let that
[0:07] Slide Fire
[0:10] Nation I like it I really like it I do
[0:14] and if this thing takes off we're going
[0:16] to need some gear this Say Fire Nation
[0:19] on it with cool pictures of trees or
[0:21] something not on fire cuz I'm not that
[0:24] kind of person you know but I've always
[0:26] gone by RSW fire there's a story behind
[0:29] that I'll share someday part of it is
[0:32] just the RSW R my initials my name is
[0:35] Sam I go by my middle
[0:37] name um I just like it I hope you guys
[0:41] do too you're going to have to let me
[0:43] know cuz it does feel a little weird to
[0:44] say I guess but I don't know what to
[0:47] call you calling you viewers just sounds
[0:51] strange so I just don't know and you
[0:54] know I have worked for eight years with
[0:57] an apparel company does a lot of other
[0:58] stuff in the music indust I've been
[1:00] managing his platforms for nearly a
[1:02] decade and he makes some really good
[1:05] high quality UND demand merchandise and
[1:10] I would just love it so can we give that
[1:13] some thought well Bailey's decided to
[1:15] take a visit hi Bailey do I get a
[1:19] headbunt
[1:20] headbunt no okay on the
[1:24] arm he loves head butting it's a cute
[1:27] thing he does a lot of cute things so I
[1:30] wanted to okay so we spent the night in
[1:32] the camper and it went pretty well the
[1:34] inting thing that I did helped the bed
[1:37] area is a lot better now I
[1:39] think I posted two videos
[1:42] yesterday one of them took 6 hours to
[1:45] upload and the other one came much later
[1:47] in the day and it only took like an hour
[1:50] and they ended up posting at exactly the
[1:52] same time so you might have missed this
[1:53] news on April 11th I'm going to a
[1:57] campground um for 2 weeks and then after
[2:00] that I'm going to go to another
[2:01] campground for another two weeks I think
[2:03] it's a good way for me to start just
[2:04] being on the campgrounds while I get
[2:06] accustomed to this new lifestyle I think
[2:09] just jumping right into boondocking
[2:10] could be really difficult for me I need
[2:13] kind of a an intermediate stage for this
[2:18] and I think it's going to be awesome now
[2:21] when that happens I think it's time for
[2:22] me to maybe change my YouTube format the
[2:25] whole first part of this was just about
[2:27] me getting ready um just everything that
[2:31] I went through getting to this point now
[2:35] technically I'm not going to be
[2:36] completely ready once I'm there because
[2:38] I still will have this house until April
[2:40] 30th and I still have to get rid of all
[2:42] of my things so I'm kind of debating
[2:44] that um one person suggested that I
[2:49] start a second Channel and just once a
[2:52] week post on this one with a big update
[2:55] and then on the other channel just post
[2:56] my you know little Snippets that I do
[2:59] during the the day and I like that idea
[3:01] I'm just not sure about when I'll start
[3:03] doing that it's going to be when I
[3:05] decide to switch over from RV life prop
[3:08] in my thumbnails to just RV life so from
[3:10] z.x to
[3:12] 1.x uh another thing I wanted to I
[3:14] wanted to ask you guys this I want to
[3:17] tell you where I'm staying I just do I
[3:20] want you to know where I'm going to
[3:22] be I just don't know if it's safe like I
[3:25] just but if I'm on a campground like
[3:28] that seems pretty safe right and if I'm
[3:30] boondocking someone would have to really
[3:32] be looking for
[3:33] me they'd have to really want to find me
[3:37] right and I'm you know I'm obviously I'm
[3:40] an older guy like who's really going to
[3:42] be interested in me but at the same time
[3:45] just takes one person who's off their
[3:48] rocker they're like oh my God there's
[3:50] this gay dude on YouTube who's out there
[3:52] camping let's go and you know hurt him
[3:56] so what do you think you know I want I I
[4:00] want to post my updates in real time I
[4:02] just if I'm going to be somewhere for
[4:03] two
[4:05] weeks I don't want to wait until like
[4:07] week three or four or five to tell you
[4:10] about
[4:11] it so we're back in the house because
[4:14] when we got up this morning the cats had
[4:16] a great time all night but when we got
[4:17] up in the
[4:19] morning the cats were ready to go
[4:21] they're like okay this was fun take us
[4:23] back to the mansion and I was like guys
[4:26] we don't live in the Mansion anymore
[4:28] this is our house now now this is where
[4:30] we live and they said no this is where
[4:32] you live we live in the mansion and I
[4:34] said fine you can go into the
[4:36] mansion and so that's what we did cuz
[4:38] you know how cats are they were driving
[4:41] me absolute nuts and until I took them
[4:44] inside I'm hoping it will be easier on a
[4:47] campground because then they're going to
[4:49] have their outdoor stuff and I can just
[4:50] take them out there and let them get
[4:52] some exercise out there or
[4:55] something I can't do that here because
[4:57] I'm in my driveway you know I'm kind of
[5:00] I'm a little bit intruding on my
[5:01] neighbor's property you know they're
[5:03] really great people and they understand
[5:05] and but I can't put their stuff out
[5:07] there I can't put my solar out there
[5:10] like there's a lot of stuff that I'm
[5:11] just I can't do yet
[5:14] so but they're not going to have a lot
[5:16] of time here cuz on the
[5:18] 11th you know that's when we leave I
[5:21] that pause was cuz I was like did I tell
[5:23] you guys and I did I told you um I'm
[5:27] excited about it the little fears that I
[5:30] have I don't even know if I should call
[5:32] them fears at this point they're just
[5:33] more
[5:34] like I don't know I guess I would just
[5:36] call it anticipation with just a small
[5:39] amount of reservation I guess that's how
[5:42] I would describe it cuz you know I
[5:44] started planning my trip in RV trip
[5:46] wizard that's things really
[5:48] awesome and I even you know scouted the
[5:51] gas stations I'm going to go to so I
[5:53] feel like I'm planning my trip and I
[5:56] know what I have to do so when I get to
[5:59] that g gas station I will just be like
[6:01] okay let's this is my next challenge
[6:03] let's just do it we do this and then
[6:05] we're back on the road to the next
[6:07] stop and I think if I do it that way
[6:10] it's going to be a lot easier for me so
[6:12] that's the
[6:12] plan so I'm mostly just excited we're
[6:16] going to spend most of the day inside
[6:18] though um I got a bunch of stuff to send
[6:21] back to Amazon cuz I didn't know exactly
[6:23] what I needed for my camper and so that
[6:26] will be nice getting some money back I
[6:29] just need to package it up and get it to
[6:31] UPS do some cleaning up in here figure
[6:34] out what else can go into the camper all
[6:38] of my outside storage
[6:40] Bays they work the locks work I maybe I
[6:43] wasn't pushing them in far enough they
[6:46] seem to work so I'm not going to change
[6:47] the locks
[6:48] yet um and I have a strategy for how I'm
[6:52] organizing them basically I've already
[6:54] thought through like what each storage
[6:55] pay is for and so I'm going to just do
[6:59] them as as much as I can I do want to
[7:02] insulate the the doors to those because
[7:04] I feel like if I do that it might even
[7:06] help on the inside a little bit it'll
[7:08] certainly help in the storage B but it
[7:10] might even cuz you know they they're
[7:11] pushed up against the walls in a sense
[7:15] maybe it'll help so I'm going to try to
[7:18] do that like not today but maybe you
[7:20] know this
[7:21] week um I I need to use my artboard
[7:24] somewhere you know I guess I would say
[7:26] this I feel like I am ready like I'm
[7:30] mostly ready like I'm my camper is in a
[7:33] good
[7:35] place as far as organization and my
[7:39] stuff and I just I feel ready to get out
[7:43] there I just have to deal with this
[7:45] house and that part is just overwhelming
[7:48] it's challenging like I don't know how
[7:51] I'm going to get rid of all of this
[7:52] stuff by the end of the month I mean
[7:55] that's I just feel that's super
[7:58] challenging I
[7:59] I will sell my stuff D super cheap if I
[8:02] have to I would like to try to get a
[8:04] fair value out of it because it will
[8:06] just help me on the road you
[8:08] know but I only have a month and I have
[8:10] to keep considering that and so when I'm
[8:13] and I only have 11 days before I'm at a
[8:15] camground that's an hour and a half away
[8:18] and so I have to drive here to let
[8:19] people
[8:20] in you know and I bet a lot of people
[8:23] end up canceling at the last minute it's
[8:24] just going to be a wasted trip and it's
[8:26] just going to be a frustrating
[8:28] experience and that's why I feel
[8:30] like this chapter of my adventure isn't
[8:34] over yet and
[8:36] so I'm just going
[8:39] to I'll spend some time over the next
[8:42] couple days thinking that through and
[8:44] then I'll come up with a good game plan
[8:46] for
[8:47] it and so I'll just leave it there I'm
[8:50] going to just do stuff around the house
[8:52] today kind of try to take it a little
[8:54] bit easy and I will touch B with you
[8:57] guys tomorrow thanks for listening
[9:00] one other thing I just want to say is I
[9:02] signed up for escapes even their mail
[9:04] service and I'll let you know how that
[9:05] goes I'm really excited about it they
[9:08] have so many like deals with other place
[9:10] things that you're going to need like I
[9:12] had already signed up for RV trip
[9:14] planner but I could have gotten a
[9:15] discount if I was an escapee members
[9:17] already but they have all kinds of
[9:19] discounts for other things too I'll let
[9:21] you know how that goes over you know the
[9:23] weeks and months to come and we also got
[9:25] a few Random clips from like the past
[9:28] like just yesterday probably and I think
[9:30] I missed one the other day I don't know
[9:33] and I just I I make these little Clips
[9:35] cuz I want to share them with you I try
[9:37] to incorporate them into you know my
[9:40] main video for the day and I've missed a
[9:43] couple I think that's what my second
[9:45] channel will end up becoming and you
[9:47] guys you can let me know if you like
[9:49] that idea I'd love to know what you
[9:51] think about it for now I'll just share
[9:53] what Clips I have well everyone I went
[9:56] shopping with my mom the other day for
[9:58] some new clothes
[10:00] I didn't buy a single pair of
[10:02] shorts there's no way I can live like
[10:05] that you can probably guess what I'm
[10:07] buying
[10:09] next there's no way for me to run my air
[10:12] conditioner if I run it here it'll just
[10:14] blow a fuse in my house I don't know if
[10:16] you can do it at a campground I'll find
[10:19] out thank God for this fan I don't think
[10:22] I can take this either I need to find
[10:24] something I can
[10:27] mount maybe two that I can Mount cuz
[10:30] that's what I'm going to be living off
[10:31] of I I just can't when I'm boondocking
[10:33] there's no way no air conditioner I
[10:35] won't be running my generator very much
[10:38] it's loud it just it's not how I want to
[10:42] live so I'm just going to live with the
[10:44] weather and just do the best that I can
[10:46] I'm sure lots and lots of other people
[10:48] do the same thing
[10:49] [Music]
[10:51] so yeah I need shorts and I need short
[10:55] sleeve shirts a lot more of those too
[10:59] okay are back in the camper and they're
[11:01] doing good they seem to like it in here
[11:05] they're just not ready to be in here all
[11:06] the time yet huh put my coats up there
[11:10] they look nice hope they stay this time
[11:14] oh I put these up four of them three
[11:18] over
[11:19] there Bailey do you see some birdies H
[11:23] do you see
[11:24] birdies it's Oliver tracking them too we
[11:27] hate those birds don't we I know they're
[11:29] spying on
[11:31] me what are you
[11:34] doing there's nothing in here
[11:38] Oliver there is nothing in
[11:41] here don't freak me out making me think
[11:44] there's something in here either cuz
[11:46] there isn't there's a draft over here
[11:50] it's not ghost or anything like that
[11:52] it's
[11:56] just it doesn't matter how much
[11:58] insulating you do there's you just
[12:00] there's no way to do one enough I guess
[12:02] I don't know I'm guessing our viers just
[12:07] accept it and live this way I mean do
[12:11] they cuz I don't want to I I want to do
[12:15] everything I can possibly
[12:19] do now Bailey's doing the same thing
[12:22] what are they up to well this is
[12:25] interesting I'm about to go inside to
[12:27] get some coffee and I don't think my
[12:28] cats have any interest in following me
[12:30] in
[12:32] there they found their new
[12:35] home well it would appear I spoke
[12:39] prematurely what's up
[12:41] guys you that desperate to get out of
[12:44] here
[12:47] seriously hey nice to him you all right
[12:51] buy he's so mean isn't
[12:54] he yeah you just go
[12:57] around he's going to get you for that
[12:59] Bailey he's going to catch you I'm going
[13:02] to let him too going to let
[13:07] him you guys stay in here I'm just going
[13:09] to get some coffee this is home now okay
[13:13] got my coffee and my M's just in his his
[13:18] thing Albert's over
[13:21] here guys what's going on we live here
[13:25] now April 11th is right around the
[13:28] corner what's the point in going inside
[13:30] there
[13:31] now that house ain't ours
[13:34] anymore you don't want to be in there
[13:38] Oliver just bit me Oliver you stop
[13:44] that no
[13:47] biting well I don't know what to do with
[13:49] you guys this is a small
[13:52] space but it's home
[13:55] now this is
[13:58] home you can get used to
[14:01] it Bailey are you going to come out of
[14:05] there

[14:20] work what's going
[14:24] on Bailey you don't want to be in
[14:28] there I wouldn't want to be in there you
[14:31] know you can get out right I mean you
[14:33] put yourself in there I KN you do
[14:36] that oh I never touch that one when he's
[14:39] in a in a cage or a box or
[14:45] something I'm just trying to lift the
[14:47] thing for
[14:48] you I don't trust you
[14:54] ow
[14:56] jeez why I'm leaving you alone I'm not
[14:59] even helping
[15:01] dude that
[15:04] hurt come on out of
[15:07] there you're being very
[15:17] weird sure ate a lot of fish flakes and
[15:19] food last
[15:21] night it's crazy you guys eat a
[15:27] lot have a feeling I'm not going to be
[15:29] able to pack that up when we get
[15:32] somewhere it's become a space for
[15:36] him that thing takes up a lot of
[15:39] room are you going to join us
[15:43] really
[15:45] wow so I'm inputting all my RV life trip
[15:48] wizard details and I've been using chat
[15:51] GPT and it's been giving me all kinds
[15:53] information that's useful to me Oliver
[15:55] you're not so oh my God so it's just
[15:59] it's really helpful I just I just love

Narrative

The morning of April 1 began inside the camper, which was the first thing worth reporting: rswfire had spent the night in it, and it had gone well. The insulating work he'd done around the bed area had held — the space was better than it had been. Outside the walls of the camper was the driveway, and past the driveway was the house he still rented, and past that a neighbor's property line he was mindful of not crossing with solar panels or cat enclosures or anything else that would make the arrangement more than temporary. He opened by trying out a name on the people watching. Good morning, Fire Nation. He asked whether he'd gotten away with it, then answered himself — he liked it, he really did. He noted he'd always gone by rswfire, that the RSW was his initials, that his name was Sam and he went by his middle name, and that there was a story behind the fire he would share someday. The story stayed where he put it. He moved on to merchandise, to the apparel company he'd managed platforms for across eight years, to the idea of trees on a shirt, not on fire, because that wasn't the kind of person he was.

Bailey arrived mid-thought, as cats do, and took his headbunt on the arm instead of the head. The logistics resumed around him. Two videos had gone up the day before, one taking six hours to upload and one taking an hour, both landing at the same moment, which meant some viewers had missed the news: April 11, a campground for two weeks, then a second campground for two more. rswfire stated the reasoning plainly — jumping straight into boondocking could be really difficult, and he needed an intermediate stage. He described the same staging logic applied to the channel itself. The first part of this had been about getting ready. When the format changed, the thumbnails would change with it: RV Life Prep becoming RV Life, 0.x becoming 1.x. Someone had suggested a second channel, a weekly long-form update on one and the little daily clips on the other, and he liked the idea and hadn't decided when to start.

Then he raised the question he'd been carrying about disclosure. He wanted to tell people where he was staying. He wanted them to know where he was going to be. He described weighing it: a campground seemed safe enough, and boondocking meant someone would have to really want to find him. He named himself an older guy and questioned who would be interested, and then named the other side of the calculation directly — that it takes one person off their rocker deciding there's a gay dude on YouTube out there camping. He put the question to the viewers and left it open, adding only that he wanted to post updates in real time, that if he was somewhere for two weeks he didn't want to wait until week three or four to say so.

The cats had their own position on the transition. They had enjoyed the night, and in the morning they were ready to go back to the mansion — the prior residence, still their reference point. He told them they didn't live in the mansion anymore, that this was their house now, and reported their reply: this is where you live, we live in the mansion. So he let them in. He expected the campground would make it easier, since they'd have their outdoor setup and room to move, none of which he could give them in a driveway that was partly someone else's. The day's work was interior work: Amazon returns to package and take to UPS, some cleaning, deciding what else could go into the camper. The exterior storage bays had been a question and were now answered — the locks worked; he probably hadn't been pushing them in far enough, so he wouldn't be changing them. Each bay already had an assignment. He wanted to insulate the doors, thinking it would help inside the bays and maybe help the interior too, since they sat against the walls. Not today. Maybe this week.

He said he felt ready — mostly ready. The camper was in a good place. What remained was the house, and he described that part as overwhelming, as challenging, as something he didn't yet know how to solve. Everything had to be gone by April 30, and he would be an hour and a half away from it starting on the 11th, driving back to let buyers in, expecting a share of them to cancel at the last minute and waste the trip. He would sell cheap if he had to, though fair value would help him on the road. He named what that meant for the story he was telling: this chapter of the adventure wasn't over yet. He'd spend a couple of days thinking it through and come up with a game plan.

The clips ran after that, the small pieces of the days around it. Shopping with his mother for new clothes and coming home without a single pair of shorts, which he flagged as a problem — no way to live like that, and he needed short sleeves too. The air conditioner, which he couldn't run in the driveway without blowing a fuse in the house, and wouldn't run boondocking anyway, since the generator was loud and that wasn't how he wanted to live; he'd live with the weather and mount a fan, maybe two. A draft along one wall that no amount of insulating seemed to close, and his refusal to simply accept it the way he guessed other RVers did. Bailey and Oliver at the window tracking birds he described as spies. Oliver climbing into a box and refusing help, then biting the hand offering it. rswfire heading in for coffee and finding, for a moment, that the cats had no interest in following — they found their new home — then finding a moment later that he'd spoken prematurely. He said it anyway, twice, to the cats and to whoever was listening: this is home now. This is home. You can get used to it. Later he sat with RV Trip Wizard and ChatGPT, entering the route, having already scouted the gas stations so each stop would arrive as a defined challenge to clear before the next leg. He'd signed up with Escapees for mail service and the member discounts. The last clip was brief. He said he'd woken up super afraid, and then said it was time to get on with the day, and that he had to deal with his cat.

rv transition camper setup youtube format trip planning downsizing house cats location disclosure

Summary

rswfire records a morning transmission from the camper and the house, opening with the "Fire Nation" audience name he floated the prior day, noting he goes by rswfire (initials plus middle name Sam) and raising the possibility of merch through an apparel company he has managed platforms for over eight years.

He reports the first overnight in the camper went well — the insulation work improved the bed area — while the cats, Bailey and Oliver, wanted back inside in the morning. Later clips show the cats settling into the camper.

Logistics covered:

  • April 11 departure to a campground for two weeks, then a second campground for two weeks, described as an intermediate stage before boondocking
  • House retained until April 30; he states getting rid of all his belongings in that window is challenging, and will sell cheap if needed
  • Trip routing built in RV Trip Wizard, gas stops scouted, ChatGPT used for supporting information
  • Signed up for Escapees including mail service
  • Amazon returns, storage bay organization and door insulation, and a stated need for shorts and short-sleeve shirts
  • No air conditioning while boondocking; fans and generator restraint instead

He raises a channel format change — a possible second channel for short clips, and a thumbnail shift from RV Life Prep 0.x to RV Life 1.x — and asks viewers whether disclosing his location in real time is safe, naming visibility as a gay man on YouTube as the specific variable.

Environment

Recorded in and around a camper/RV parked in the driveway of rswfire's rented house, with movement between the camper interior and the house for coffee and daytime work. The prior residence — referred to as the mansion — is named as the cats' former reference point. Two cats, Bailey and Oliver, are present throughout, moving between camper and house.

The digital environment is a YouTube channel in early build phase, with references to upload times, thumbnail versioning, a proposed second channel, RV Trip Wizard, ChatGPT, Escapees mail service, Amazon returns, and an apparel/merch operation he has managed for eight years.

Substrate

The architecture being held is a staged migration: two dwellings run concurrently while function transfers from the house to the camper, with campground stays deliberately inserted as an intermediate layer before boondocking. rswfire is building both a physical system (storage bay assignments, insulation, airflow, power constraints, routed fuel stops) and an audience-facing one (naming the viewership, version-numbering the channel format, splitting long-form from clips), treating each as an infrastructure problem with defined stages. The ontological position is operator of his own transition — he declares the camper 'home now' before the house is emptied, and treats visibility, safety, and disclosure of location as design parameters he decides rather than defaults he inherits.
