[0:00] so we're about to head down this year
[0:04] Mountain definitely need to wash my my
[0:10] windshield for some reason going down
[0:12] the mountain is not as scary as coming
[0:14] up it which doesn't make a lot of sense
[0:17] to me
[0:19] but I it's early it's almost 700 in the
[0:22] morning I am heading south of
[0:25] Alco because there is a place there that
[0:28] should have a neutral B
[0:30] I think it's neutral bonded plug or
[0:32] something like that it's a 15 amp plug
[0:35] that it just has a wire inside of it
[0:38] connecting the crown wire to some other
[0:40] the crown something to something else
[0:42] whatever anyways it will make it so my
[0:45] solar can charge my house
[0:48] batteries which is very important
[0:50] because I charged them with my generator
[0:53] last
[0:54] yesterday for I think it was 4 and 1/2
[0:57] hours 3 and 1/2 or 4 and 1/2 hours I I
[1:00] think it was 4 and a half long time and
[1:02] I didn't like doing that because you
[1:04] know there's other people at the
[1:05] campground and you know that I just I
[1:07] don't it's pretty quiet generator but
[1:09] still right um fully charged them waited
[1:13] until it got to um I forgot how AI
[1:16] described it but it reached a stage
[1:19] where they were fully charged and this
[1:23] morning I looked at them and it was at
[1:26] 11.9 I think which that's bad so
[1:30] um and then an hour later though it
[1:33] jumped up to 12.12 so I don't know what
[1:36] I mean weird right but I don't want to
[1:38] run my generator every day so can't
[1:41] afford to replace the house
[1:43] batteries they probably only have like
[1:46] 200 amp hours I guess that's probably
[1:50] standard I'm guessing here I don't know
[1:52] this for sure and um that can last 24 to
[1:57] 48 hours on average according to AI
[2:00] so I mean it doesn't sound like my
[2:01] batteries
[2:02] are um in super bad shape but they just
[2:06] you know they're just not great
[2:07] batteries so I did not charge them for
[2:11] the first four days I was here I didn't
[2:13] understand like you know at the time so
[2:16] um I'm sure I might have hurt them doing
[2:20] that um but they seem mostly okay right
[2:24] so uh I just need to charge them every
[2:26] day and I'd I'd prefer to do that for my
[2:28] SAR and the only way I can do that is if
[2:32] I get this bonded plug thing so that my
[2:36] Watchdog will allow my RV to be charged
[2:39] for my solar batteries so um we're going
[2:42] to go find that today cuz it's that
[2:44] important and
[2:45] then um I don't know so my
[2:50] plug it's you know the 30 amp plug
[2:52] there's no way to bring that inside
[2:56] through the connections I made you know
[2:59] that have my my satellite and all that
[3:02] um it has to come through my door so not
[3:05] very convenient but you know it is what
[3:07] it is and if I only have to do it for
[3:09] like an hour a day or something then
[3:13] um if that keeps me off G and green
[3:16] so otherwise I'm not sure what I'm going
[3:19] to do I was thinking this morning it's
[3:20] like man I you know I might end up on
[3:23] campgrounds for a while because I do
[3:25] need to kind of restock and stuff but I
[3:28] think I'm doing okay like I mean I don't
[3:30] have water but um I'm very happy with my
[3:34] propane so it uses about 3% an hour to
[3:37] you run the generator um this not
[3:40] counting like adding like maybe using
[3:42] air conditioning or something but I
[3:43] would I would really do that I did
[3:45] yesterday for a little while just to
[3:46] bring the temperature down and and to
[3:48] test it um but it uses about 3% per hour
[3:52] that's really awesome to charge my
[3:55] batteries um charge my laptop charge my
[3:59] um you know my portable you know the all
[4:02] my stuff so um that's not bad but if I
[4:05] could do it for my soul or even better
[4:07] so I forgot my sunglasses so kind of
[4:11] beating myself up for that but the more
[4:15] times I forget something the more likely
[4:17] I am to start remembering it so um you
[4:22] know I'm going on an expedition here
[4:24] which is a new thing for me cuz I've
[4:26] been living on Camron for 6 seven months
[4:28] so
[4:30] um you know my nomadic lifestyle is
[4:33] changing a little bit here and I need to
[4:35] adapt so one thing to remember bring
[4:38] your
[4:39] sunglasses all right so let me just
[4:41] address this while I'm thinking about it
[4:43] so I was contemplating whether or not I
[4:45] would reenable comments on my channel
[4:48] yesterday and I did on one
[4:51] video
[4:53] um just cuz I kind of wanted to hear
[4:56] from you guys it's been you know I don't
[4:59] know how long if had comment has turned
[5:00] off so and I was wondering who was still
[5:03] around you know
[5:05] um so you know I just was genuinely
[5:10] curious and it didn't go so bad so there
[5:13] seem to be some new people hello
[5:17] um which that's nice and um so I'm just
[5:22] going
[5:23] to let me just address this
[5:27] so unless youve been watching my channel
[5:30] in a long time you're not going to
[5:31] understand the
[5:32] nuances that um I'm not like most people
[5:37] okay I'm just not and I'm not going to
[5:40] you know I'm glad I'm not okay so I I
[5:45] don't like YouTube comments because I
[5:47] think that they're largely superficial
[5:50] and
[5:51] just but they're you know I'm I don't
[5:54] also don't like cutting off all contact
[5:57] like that's not something I want to do
[5:59] either so so I contemplated every once
[6:02] I'm like how can I let me just fix this
[6:04] gear here okay
[6:10] um it's it's a complicated thing for me
[6:14] but I'm going to try to adapt and just
[6:17] see the comments as something kind of
[6:18] separate from my videos if you guys want
[6:21] to leave comments that's fine I'm going
[6:22] to I'm going to turn them on for a while
[6:24] just see how it goes can't promise you
[6:27] I'll respond to them I think that um if
[6:29] I'm going to respond to you guys it's
[6:31] going to be on camera I just um I'm not
[6:35] going to be monitoring the comments all
[6:36] the
[6:37] time it's just I don't think it's
[6:39] healthy it's not why I do this and um
[6:43] but I want to keep the channel open so
[6:46] we'll give that a try let's just put it
[6:47] that way let's just leave it there for
[6:49] now you really can't beat these views I
[6:52] mean it's pretty incredible this is
[6:54] where I've been staying all week like I
[6:56] mean that is just
[6:58] amazing he hate that my camera flattens
[7:00] mountains why does it do that like that
[7:03] mountain is
[7:04] huge whatever so let's talk power for a
[7:08] minute here there are a bunch of
[7:10] different ways
[7:12] to charge my house batteries one is to
[7:16] obviously plug it into store power right
[7:18] um you use that same plug to plug it
[7:20] into your solar that's what I'm trying
[7:22] to do now it's just I need this BR
[7:24] neutralizing
[7:26] plug um I can do DC to DC
[7:30] which direct current to direct current
[7:32] I'm learning stuff right um I don't know
[7:35] how that's done exactly I think that
[7:39] um I don't know somehow my solar can do
[7:41] it but I don't have I probably don't
[7:43] have the equipment for it another way is
[7:46] my RV does have zamp solar where I can
[7:49] just plug a solar panel into it but zamp
[7:53] solar uses a proprietary plug so I would
[7:56] have to find an adapter that takes my
[7:59] Sol panel and can connect that to that
[8:02] outlet so I can't do that yet but that's
[8:04] something I'm going to try in the future
[8:07] if I come across this
[8:10] adapter um I don't know if there's any
[8:12] other ways there's I think there's one
[8:14] or two other ways like they they get
[8:16] kind of crazy it's cool how you can just
[8:18] kind of move power around like that but
[8:21] um for me the simplest way is what I'm
[8:23] doing now now if I can't find this
[8:26] neutralizing clock thing you can make
[8:28] one it's just a amp plug I learned I
[8:30] didn't even know that's what they are 15
[8:32] amps and you take the cover off and you
[8:36] put a piece of wire between two of the
[8:37] progs and you know you're done that's
[8:39] all it is so worst case scenario I'm
[8:42] going to figure that out today because I
[8:43] have to be able to charge these
[8:44] batteries somehow so if I can do that we
[8:49] you know we'll find out today how much
[8:52] power um it takes to charge my batteries
[8:54] every day from the solar uh my solar I
[8:57] have it does take a long time to charge
[8:59] card solar so with my one panel that's a
[9:01] 350 W panel up in the mountains in
[9:04] Nevada I've only been gain built to
[9:07] maybe um somewhere between 5 and 10%
[9:12] because I'm also using it at the same
[9:13] time so but it's not a lot I'm under 50%
[9:17] and but you know I do have
[9:22] 6,000 wat hours something like that
[9:24] because they have two batteries you know
[9:26] each are 372 W hours I think so so um
[9:32] that's quite a capacity it's way and I
[9:34] was thinking about it it makes sense
[9:35] those things are so much bigger than my
[9:37] house battery
[9:38] s um their capacity is much greater so
[9:42] this should work for me so um if I use a
[9:47] couple perent a day or something
[9:49] charging my house batteries that's
[9:50] totally manageable for me I don't have
[9:54] great needs I just need to power my
[9:56] laptop my satellite internet and a
[9:59] couple of lights and I'm good I don't
[10:00] really need anything else so um I'm very
[10:04] hopeful that this all works out today
[10:07] find
[10:09] out why is this thing on oh my God this
[10:12] thing I just I don't even
[10:14] [Music]
[10:18] know that explains why my music keeps
[10:22] turning off so when I set this thing
[10:24] down on my lap I guess it detects my
[10:27] face and turns itself on so Noy hello
[10:31] camera you know how these drives are
[10:34] they get me
[10:35] thinking I keep thinking about how if I
[10:38] enable comments I'm going to be getting
[10:40] lots of advice I already got some from
[10:43] that other
[10:44] video and some of you know how I feel
[10:47] about that like I didn't ask so why are
[10:50] you giving
[10:51] it and then it's at the same time I'm
[10:54] like I feel like this is a me issue like
[10:57] I really need to get over it
[11:00] and that's hard though I as somebody who
[11:03] is an integrated person I know how that
[11:06] sounds
[11:07] but
[11:09] I I I don't compartmentalize anything so
[11:15] when that's a there there's a lot to
[11:18] unpack there and it's not it's not
[11:20] really worth getting into now the point
[11:22] is
[11:25] though I've got to find a way if I'm
[11:28] going to allow comments I've just got to
[11:30] find a way like why why does it bother
[11:34] me so much when people give me advice
[11:36] like I just I truly don't like it but I
[11:40] mean that's a me thing right like
[11:43] I that's how people are they just want
[11:46] to offer their opinion on everything
[11:50] like I just got to I don't
[11:53] compartmentalize anything you don't
[11:55] understand like it's not it's not a
[11:57] thing I can even do
[12:00] so um I guess we're going to see how it
[12:04] goes and I'm just going to explore that
[12:07] with AI every single time it triggers me
[12:09] because every [ __ ] time you you can
[12:11] be advised is going to trigger me and
[12:13] maybe I will get to the root cause you
[12:16] got to find a way to
[12:19] integrate that in a way that makes it so
[12:21] that it's just less trigger you
[12:24] so to me thinking I want to work on it I
[12:28] just love there are mountains everywhere
[12:31] it's like all these mountains have names
[12:33] you know they do and I just like want to
[12:36] explore them
[12:38] all we're headed to Oregon so not today
[12:42] obviously but that's that's where we're
[12:45] heading this has been an amazing
[12:47] adventure
[12:48] I still can't get over the fact I left
[12:51] Kentucky and I am so far from
[12:54] home
[12:56] um I'm still kind of
[12:59] I don't know that that's really hit me
[13:01] yet like not really
[13:05] so it's amazing it truly is I and I
[13:09] can't wait to get to the coast I think
[13:10] that I'm going to love it
[13:13] there you know at the same time I'm like
[13:17] this was a hard journey and I have so
[13:18] much further to go and like now I'm
[13:21] trying to do it off grid so that added a
[13:23] whole new layer which I love but
[13:26] also is very uncomfortable still like
[13:29] like um not all of it like you know
[13:32] being on top of the mountain all week's
[13:33] been great it's just you know the
[13:35] driving and the finding places to stay
[13:37] and you know of course you got to manage
[13:41] all your you got to manage your systems
[13:44] and these are all things that I wanted
[13:45] to learn and integrate so but I just
[13:50] know like the fact that I am trying to
[13:52] learn these things and integrate them
[13:54] it's going to get me so much advice from
[13:57] people that I don't want
[14:00] because it fragments my process and I'm
[14:03] not interested in fragmented Solutions I
[14:06] have my own way of learning things and I
[14:08] have been trying to document that for
[14:10] others to learn too I do not prescribe
[14:14] if you watch my channel you can see that
[14:16] I don't prescribe solutions to you guys
[14:18] so don't do it to me but you're going to
[14:22] so we'll see we'll see how it goes
[14:35] look in the
[14:39] evening got to say the
[14:47] [Music]
[14:53] morning with myself
[15:00] a little can't start a
[15:03] fire you can't start a fire
[15:07] without this gun
[15:11] High just dancing in
[15:17] the we're heading into Elco elco's a
[15:20] special little
[15:22] place um I think it's probably like the
[15:26] biggest town in Northern Nevada and this
[15:29] is where all the stuff is at there's a
[15:31] Starbucks here a couple of them one's in
[15:33] the casino I skipped that one they tried
[15:36] to trick you into going into a casino to
[15:38] get
[15:39] coffee I wasn't going for
[15:42] that and I bet it's real busy even
[15:46] though I could use some coffee it's
[15:47] almost 8 in the
[15:51] morning might stop there but we're
[15:53] heading
[15:55] south so I am just
[15:59] that is the accit for Starbucks I do
[16:01] know
[16:09] that my friends are heing take it
[16:14] slow wait for them to ask you who you
[16:19] know please don't make any s
[16:24] moves you don't know the half of the
[16:28] abuse
[16:31] my friend are take it
[16:35] slow wait for them to ask you who you
[16:40] know he
[16:43] Mak
[16:48] mov the
[16:50] abuse all right I guess we're not an
[16:53] alcol losing my voice I
[16:56] noticed know elimation or what
[17:00] there it
[17:02] is nice little town at the base of a
[17:22] mes sitting next to you murder sit next
[17:26] to you you think get next
[17:30] after
[17:32] [Music]
[17:39] all got me some coffee from mud
[17:43] hut got coffee there yesterday it is
[17:46] very like there's hardly nobody out here
[17:49] I'll show you in a second once I can get
[17:51] myself sorted here Saturday morning and
[17:54] everything's closed and there's no cars
[17:56] really there's so few but
[18:00] on what's this guy doing okay you have
[18:03] to stop when that thing's baking
[18:05] [Music]
[18:07] blinking I didn't have even known that
[18:11] we are in Elco we don't have far to go
[18:14] though so I just left the hardware store
[18:16] I got this thing here hopefully it
[18:19] works it's I don't understand like how
[18:23] so my surge protector okay so when I
[18:25] plug my RV into my solar Inver
[18:29] I think that's what it's called
[18:31] um it works it gets power but then my
[18:35] surge protector which is built into my
[18:37] RV now because I did that in
[18:39] Kentucky won't let the charge through
[18:42] because there's no ground so this thing
[18:44] is supposed to make mimic ground but you
[18:48] know this is 15
[18:51] amps and it's plugged into a different
[18:54] Outlet than my RV one so I don't know
[18:56] how it knows but hopefully it knows it
[18:58] doesn't then I'm still not sure how to
[19:01] fix this but we're going to try this as
[19:03] AI tells me this will work so we'll see
[19:07] there's stuff around here I'd like to
[19:08] explore but I know my batteries are
[19:10] getting low and um I just I feel like I
[19:15] need to try this I need to know I oh
[19:17] another thing was so getting new
[19:19] batteries they're not too expensive
[19:21] they're a couple hundred bucks not a
[19:22] couple thousand at least um maybe just
[19:25] the lithium ones are that expensive but
[19:27] these ones they were they have had some
[19:29] there that I could have bought for a
[19:30] couple hundred but I need to make sure
[19:32] that I get the right
[19:34] ones
[19:36] um so you know if I have to replace them
[19:40] I'll just take pictures and stuff and uh
[19:42] do a little bit of research and I'll do
[19:45] that
[19:46] so feel better this morning than I did
[19:49] when I first woke up cuz when I noticed
[19:51] you know the RV batteries look like
[19:53] they're not holding a charge anymore
[19:57] so um there's small batteries they I
[20:00] don't know I don't know how long I you
[20:02] know AI tells me 24 to 48 hours
[20:05] so um with minimal
[20:09] load so I mean that might be my our my
[20:12] batteries might be okay like at least I
[20:15] could replace them if I needed to we're
[20:18] going up the
[20:20] mountain just started okay 926 I want to
[20:23] know how long this takes I'm actually
[20:25] feeling pretty good today I don't think
[20:26] I have much of a problem some days
[20:28] better than others I don't know why it's
[20:30] that way but it's like um my mind is
[20:34] this flowing river and depending
[20:38] on who even [ __ ] know it's just some
[20:41] days are better than others so I'm going
[20:43] to head up this mountain and hope that
[20:46] my solar can charge my
[20:50] RV and in there with
[20:53] me see how we do
[20:56] today of that guy
[21:05] you
[21:10] promised it's a beautiful
[21:18] [Music]
[21:22] day oh I guess you probably rather look
[21:25] at the view than me right okay let's
[21:28] let's wait for this man to M got a van
[21:31] ler
[21:32] here here we
[21:53] go run away are you thinking of me when
[21:57] you [ __ ]
[22:08] kill
[22:10] [Music]
[22:14] me all right slow
[22:17] down get in a different
[22:20] [Music]
[22:22] gear being Reckless today look at those
[22:26] mountains God damn they're gorgeous
[22:29] my phone does not do
[22:32] Injustice we're way up there oh my
[22:36] God all
[22:38] right I got
[22:45] this that is the first time I've seen
[22:48] Wildlife wait that's just a rock never
[22:50] mind wait is that a rock no it's wildly
[22:53] hello
[22:56] cow man that thing like like a cow or
[22:59] like a
[23:07] rock
[23:19] behind we're up there Jimmy Rock second
[23:23] chimney
[23:24] supposedly I always thought it look kind
[23:26] of like a hand but
[23:30] looks like the lower Peninsula Michigan
[23:32] me woo we're going up wow this is kind
[23:36] of fun
[23:37] actually oh my God why am I being
[23:39] Reckless
[23:41] today slow down what are you doing doing
[23:44] 50 and a third gear
[23:50] [Music]
[23:52] crazy
[23:54] beautiful oh my God I'm way up there oh
[23:58] that's going to be
[23:59] scary scary my phone does not do it
[24:02] justice that looks like a little Hill
[24:05] that is a freaking Mountain up there my
[24:07] phone is a piece of
[24:14] [ __ ] oh my ears just popped
[24:34] what am I doing that's terrible oh 3,000
[24:39] RPMs what's wrong with
[24:41] me I mean we're not actually at the
[24:44] mountain
[24:45] yet still that's not good don't do that
[24:49] 30, 1998 miles on this thing that is not
[24:53] good
[24:54] either yeah let me switch gears there we
[24:57] go
[25:04] stupid oh I'm about ready to get back on
[25:07] the road I
[25:08] think I was thinking about staying
[25:10] another week but maybe I won't I don't
[25:13] know I do have I got to get to
[25:17] Oregon man that's so
[25:21] beautiful I don't know I love being up
[25:23] here in the
[25:25] mountains I can't beat it
[25:51] oh yeah I can see the road up
[25:54] there oh
[25:56] my right in got to put it so close to
[25:59] the edge like
[26:01] that oh my
[26:04] God we can do this not been much fear
[26:08] today
[26:10] actually okay explain that maybe I
[26:14] integrated it yesterday I don't
[26:20] know probably did
[26:23] actually
[26:25] interesting we're going to the National
[26:48] Forest so
[26:50] beautiful gosh I could look at that all
[26:53] day
[27:01] very auty
[27:03] colors the Browns and the oranges and
[27:06] the yellows a bit of
[27:08] green so
[27:15] beautiful here it
[27:19] is okay it's
[27:23] 9:35 and now we're really going up the
[27:26] mountain switch gears here there's a
[27:29] grade up here I just don't want to run
[27:30] over it too fast these things annoy me I
[27:34] don't like these
[27:37] things this one's not so bad though all
[27:41] right some are quite bad up we go
[27:48] 9:35 I mean I missed that Campground
[27:51] right there I don't know how I did that
[27:53] it was right
[27:55] there I saw the little parking lot there
[27:58] I'm like what there's just a parking lot
[28:00] here like where's the campground I
[28:03] didn't realize there was a road going
[28:04] back
[28:05] there but there is so I know that now I
[28:08] went and checked it
[28:10] out see I just saw that I'm like okay I
[28:12] could turn around there
[28:14] but I didn't see the road I was too
[28:17] focused on oh we're going up a mile here
[28:20] we
[28:21] go everything you have
[28:24] heard but I'm still in pain
[28:40] honey out
[28:43] away good to throw some
[28:48] ass
[28:51] it heart
[28:55] attack throw it back feel so good
[29:02] [Music]
[29:04] too we are going up this
[29:07] [Music]
[29:19] m I'm merry hyper today I don't
[29:23] [Music]
[29:26] know feel so so good
[29:29] too like I'm going to have to switch
[29:31] gears though it's kind of hard to do
[29:33] while holding this
[29:36] thing arm getting
[29:41] [Music]
[29:49] tired nice clear
[29:55] day feel so good you some
[30:00] ass around you make it
[30:04] clap old man heart
[30:09] attack it back It Feels So Good Ju these
[30:14] trees were so much prettier a few days
[30:16] ago feel like they're losing their
[30:19] leaves already
[30:31] okay I don't feel so bad today
[30:35] interesting maybe I integrated it my
[30:37] ears are I
[30:43] man try yawning or something
[30:51] [Music]
[30:53] here up we go
[30:57] [Music]
[31:00] all right this spot a little bit like I
[31:02] don't know I got this nothing
[31:06] [Music]
[31:08] easy I really did I feel like I'm much
[31:11] to integrate it like I don't know just
[31:15] feels so different than
[31:17] yesterday truly
[31:20] does oh man those trees are
[31:24] beautiful so beautiful I wonder why they
[31:27] like all of those bottom ones are yellow
[31:30] then the middle ones are orange like how
[31:31] does that
[31:33] happen how does that work that is so
[31:40] cool hope I don't get copyright strien
[31:43] from all these
[31:44] songs Bo here we go I I might not be in
[31:47] the best gear for this
[31:49] but in third
[31:51] gear up there is Chimney Rock
[32:00] [Music]
[32:03] up we go up we
[32:06] go we got this up this mountain we
[32:13] go
[32:15] yeah feels different today I don't know
[32:18] very
[32:20] different man did I really like resolve
[32:23] this issue oh that's a little scary okay
[32:26] um all right
[32:28] yeah I still
[32:32] have I mean I was at a little
[32:41] scary up this
[32:43] mountain man it is a long ass
[32:47] Mountain oh there a lot of people well
[32:49] it is a
[32:50] Saturday okay these spots and I think I
[32:53] understand now what it is about them
[32:55] it's because
[32:58] um all you see is the Horizon you don't
[33:00] see anything
[33:03] else so I got to switch gears here this
[33:07] is here we got to get into second gear
[33:11] now
[33:14] okay now for the scary spots see how
[33:17] that
[33:20] is long
[33:24] stretches should be fine
[33:45] up we
[33:46] go up this mountain get up this
[33:52] mountain I am loving this actually o
[33:56] okay woo okay feeling it a little bit oh
[34:01] man that is so fascinating wonder why
[34:05] like there's just something off the
[34:09] Horizon something gets
[34:12] triggered we got this this is nothing
[34:15] okay here come the scary
[34:18] parts
[34:21] man okay so I've got
[34:24] some I mean it is what it is we got got
[34:28] this up we go up we go right into the
[34:32] sky right into the
[34:35] sky
[34:38] y there no
[34:42] problem
[34:44] okay this is no big deal big long
[34:48] stretch here right
[34:51] to you know like what
[34:55] really this is not so bad not so bad a
[34:59] little bit of
[35:01] fear little
[35:04] bit not a
[35:08] lot yeah it is no big deal and we are
[35:14] there
[35:17] 9:43 so 8 minutes to get up the mountain
[35:45] I want you to live your best
[35:47] life cuz life is [ __ ]
[35:50] awesome time for the Moment of Truth we
[35:53] got that plugged in we got my RV plugged
[35:56] in turn that AC on and see what happens
[36:02] here 46% on my
[36:09] batteries we're charging 300
[36:12] watts with my solar
[36:15] panel give it a second to turn on
[36:28] it's definitely on I got to give it a
[36:30] second I
[36:42] guess come
[36:51] on I know this is right let's plugged in
[36:57] surpris it say zero
[37:01] Watts so we should be
[37:04] good didn't hear that thing kick on
[37:07] though which that surprises
[37:15] me all right let me check my I'll check
[37:18] the Watch Dog app and see what it says
[37:20] it's not working it says that it doesn't
[37:22] detect the ground and that's what that
[37:24] thing's supposed to
[37:25] do I didn't think it' works I feel like
[37:28] you would need to connect a 30 amp
[37:31] whatever that thing is in you know a 30
[37:33] amp version of that and then plug that
[37:36] plug my RV into
[37:39] that oh
[37:42] man so I managed to hook it up this way
[37:46] GL I got you know using this but it's
[37:48] still not working it does show it's
[37:50] grounded so that light comes on when I
[37:53] plug that in but my Watch Dog still says
[37:57] that there's no ground so it's a very
[38:00] smart device I guess if I had known that
[38:02] I'd have this problem I never would have
[38:04] gotten that thing this is so irritating
[38:07] I
[38:08] mean I know what I'm doing is safe and
[38:10] this thing doesn't have an option to to
[38:12] just let me do it which is just I can't
[38:14] believe that power watch dog so I just
[38:17] need a adapter oh c up so there's no way
[38:23] to use this blue ID to charge my my
[38:26] batteries my batteries are very big
[38:28] they're some kind of marine style
[38:30] batteries they're bigger than the ones I
[38:31] saw at that store so they probably are
[38:34] pretty expensive and I tried everything
[38:38] to make this work I have my generator
[38:40] running you might be able to hear that
[38:43] um the only thing I that's left is my
[38:45] solar panel hooked up to the RV there's
[38:47] a a spot for that it's by zamp solar but
[38:51] it uses a sa connection and my solar
[38:55] panels use mc4 so so I need an adapter
[38:58] and I could not find one anywhere
[39:01] locally you know hours distance away I
[39:04] couldn't find one so I got an RV shop to
[39:07] order one I'm going to have to stay here
[39:10] until it comes in they think it will be
[39:12] like probably Tuesday or
[39:15] Wednesday
[39:18] so just wait for that and hope that this
[39:21] is really hooked up it's say you know I
[39:24] don't know it says solar ready I think
[39:26] which doesn't necessar barely mean that
[39:28] it's really ready right it just means
[39:30] you could have
[39:31] solar damp powered ready there's this
[39:35] out I'll show you out it here it might
[39:38] you know I need to know the answer to
[39:40] that it's very windy
[39:42] out
[39:44] um doesn't mean that there's a
[39:46] controller hooked up to the inverter
[39:48] right I just I don't know I don't know
[39:49] how to tell that
[39:51] so I bet you it doesn't have one would
[39:55] not surprise me so I'm still trying to
[39:58] figure this out I don't want to have to
[39:59] be using my generator every day I would
[40:02] love to be getting free energy from the
[40:04] Sun but my solar panels won't do the job
[40:08] so I'm even willing to just buy another
[40:10] solar
[40:11] panel that won't it won't hook up to
[40:14] that though see I don't I'm this is this
[40:16] is a problem I have a feeling this thing
[40:18] doesn't actually have solar so I found a
[40:21] solution there's a thing I can buy it's
[40:24] a battery charger it's for marine
[40:26] batteries like mine and it's got dual
[40:29] dual ones so that I can charge both at
[40:31] the same time and you just plug it into
[40:33] a 110 volt Outlet in my solar inverter
[40:38] and I should be good to go and the solar
[40:40] panels can just be hooked up to that and
[40:42] not to the battery charger hopefully
[40:44] this I think this is what I'm doing I'm
[40:46] going to have to go and pick it up like
[40:47] an hour away so it's almost no and we're
[40:50] heading back down the mountain and then
[40:51] back to Alo an hour
[40:53] away oh man
[40:57] this is not a perfect solution
[41:01] because um there's nowhere to really
[41:03] install it my battery take up the whole
[41:06] compartment but I think I know I can
[41:08] kind of put it and this will be a little
[41:11] weird CU I have to do it every day but I
[41:13] much rather do this from solar so don't
[41:15] want to be running my generator and
[41:17] wasting all my propane because it's loud
[41:19] and just I don't want to do it that way
[41:22] I much Ed solar you know some people
[41:25] hiking up there cool haven't been up
[41:27] there
[41:29] yet no check out that view it's
[41:35] incredible I mean it's
[41:38] incredible I mean this is the coolest
[41:40] place I've ever
[41:41] been absolutely love
[41:48] this we are back in
[41:51] Alco hour and a half
[41:55] away pick up part dve an hour and a half
[42:01] back we are
[42:05] young so let's set the world on
[42:09] fire we can grow
[42:12] brighter than the

[43:37] tonight we are

[45:57] [Applause]
[45:58] us come
[46:00] here Google
[46:13] [Music]
[46:32] we on our way back now I got my part it
[46:37] looks
[46:38] awesome so I'm looking forward to trying
[46:41] it out I don't know how fast mile merge
[46:44] onto I8 East I think that it will charge
[46:47] half as fast as my generator because I
[46:50] know that might well so basically I
[46:52] think my generator charges 2 and 1/2
[46:54] times faster because that one uses 20 4
[46:57] volts I think when is charging wait no
[47:01] 14 volts my bad 14 oh it's not going to
[47:04] be that different it uses 14 volts and
[47:07] I'm using 10 Vols this thing uses 10
[47:10] volt so on I8 East for 49 mil it's not
[47:13] that different I was thinking it was
[47:14] going to be like way
[47:16] longer I need to get in the right gear
[47:19] here all right there we
[47:23] go I am loving my wife
[47:27] sixth time up the
[47:29] mountain it's the mountain behind that
[47:32] mountain there's a car way over there
[47:35] looks so
[47:37] tiny can't see
[47:39] now we're almost to the
[47:45] mountain not going to lie it was a
[47:47] little tense at the top I'm up
[47:50] here oh
[47:52] man is what it
[47:54] is any luck this will do the trick I
[47:57] want to read the instructions and
[47:59] there's I got to figure out how I'm
[48:01] going to do it cuz there isn't room down
[48:03] there
[48:04] really um hopefully oh it's 5 amps for
[48:08] each one I had a feeling so yeah that's
[48:12] going to charge slower
[48:13] but that's okay it's got a repair
[48:16] function too I'm very curious about that
[48:19] so I'll probably post that in my next
[48:21] video because I don't want to just
[48:24] install this thing without knowing what
[48:26] I'm doing
[48:28] so didn't look that hard you know but
[48:31] still

Narrative

It was not quite seven in the morning when rswfire started down the mountain, windshield dirty, the grade unspooling ahead of him in the early light. Going down had never scared him the way going up did, which he said aloud and admitted made no sense. Behind him, a week of dispersed camping in a National Forest at the top of that grade. Ahead, an hour and a half of Nevada highway to Elko, and a single small object he needed: a fifteen-amp plug with a wire run between two prongs inside it, a bonded-neutral adapter, the piece that was supposed to let his surge protector see a ground where his solar inverter offered none. The house batteries had read 11.9 that morning after four and a half hours on the propane generator the day before — then jumped to 12.12 an hour later, which he noted as weird and did not resolve. He did not want to run the generator daily. It was loud, there were other people around, and the propane was finite even at three percent an hour.

Somewhere on the flat stretch south he set the camera down and addressed the comment layer directly. He had turned comments back on for one video the previous day, wanting to know who was still out there, and it had not gone badly — some new people, a hello. He laid out his terms without apology: he did not like YouTube comments, he was not going to monitor them, and if he responded it would be on camera. He would try treating them as something separate from the videos and see how that held. Later, still driving, he came back to it. The advice was the part that got him — people offering solutions he had not asked for. He named it as his own material to work with rather than theirs to stop, said he would take it to AI each time it triggered him and look for the root, and then stated the thing underneath plainly: unsolicited solutions fragment a process he runs whole. He does not prescribe to his viewers. He asked them not to prescribe to him, and said in the same breath that they would anyway.

Elko on a Saturday morning was nearly empty — a town at the base of a mesa, the largest in Northern Nevada, closed storefronts and almost no cars. He skipped the Starbucks inside the casino on principle, got coffee at Mud Hut, and came out of the hardware store with the adapter in hand, already narrating his uncertainty about it: fifteen amps, plugged into a different outlet than the RV, and no clear mechanism by which the Watchdog would know. AI said it would work. He would find out. He noted in passing that replacement house batteries ran a couple hundred dollars rather than a couple thousand, that he would photograph them and research before buying, and that he felt better than he had on waking.

The climb back up started at 9:26 and he clocked it deliberately, wanting to know the number. Third gear at fifty, three thousand RPM, and he caught himself — being reckless today, what am I doing, stupid — and downshifted. A cow he first read as a rock. Chimney Rock coming up on the right, the second one, the shape he had always thought looked like a hand and now read as the Lower Peninsula of Michigan. Bands of autumn color stacked down the slope, yellow at the bottom, orange in the middle, a bit of green, and he asked the open question of how that happens. And running under all of it, tracked in real time against grade position: the fear wasn't there. He said so five or six separate times, each time as an observation rather than a mood — not much fear today, explain that, maybe I integrated it yesterday, probably did actually, interesting. When it did surface, he located it precisely: the spots where the horizon is all you can see, nothing else in frame. He named the trigger, downshifted into second, and went through it. Eight minutes to the top.

Then the moment of truth. RV plugged in, batteries at 46 percent, 300 watts coming off the solar panel, the little light on the adapter confirming ground. He waited for the charger to kick on and did not hear it. He opened the Watchdog app. No ground detected. The device he had installed in Kentucky to protect the system was the device now refusing to let it charge, and it was smart enough not to be fooled by a fifteen-amp workaround plugged into a different outlet. He said what he knew — that what he was doing was safe — and that the surge protector gave him no option to override it.

So he kept testing. The RV had a Zamp Solar port, which meant a proprietary SAE connector against his panel's MC4, and no adapter existed within driving distance; he got an RV shop to order one, arriving Tuesday or Wednesday, and accepted that he would be staying on the mountain until then. He also flagged his own doubt about that path — solar ready on a label does not mean a controller is actually wired to the inverter, and he had a feeling it wasn't. Standing in the wind at the top with the generator running behind him, he found the next path: a dual marine battery charger, two banks at once, plugged into a 110 outlet on the solar inverter, with the panels feeding the inverter rather than the batteries directly. It was an hour and a half away. He drove back down, back to Elko, and back up again — the sixth ascent, tense at the top, part in hand.

He read the specs on the way home. Five amps per bank, slower than he'd hoped. He'd assumed the generator charged two and a half times faster, then corrected himself mid-sentence — fourteen volts versus ten, not as wide a gap as he'd feared. Not a perfect solution. There was no real room to mount it; the batteries filled the compartment. He would have to run it manually every day. But it would run off the sun instead of the propane, and that was the thing he was after. He said he wanted to read the instructions before installing it, that he didn't want to put it in without knowing what he was doing, and that he'd probably film that part next. Behind him the mountains kept going, each one with a name, all of them west of Kentucky and still short of the Oregon coast.

Summary

rswfire drives down and back up a Nevada mountain outside Elko across a full day, working a single technical problem: getting his RV house batteries charged from solar instead of running the generator.

He describes the constraint chain — his in-RV surge protector (Power Watchdog) blocks charging from the solar inverter because it detects no ground. He drives to a hardware store for a neutral-bonding plug, installs it, and reports it fails: the Watchdog still reads no ground. He documents the other charging paths he has evaluated — shore power, DC-to-DC, and the RV's Zamp solar port, which requires an SAE-to-MC4 adapter he cannot source locally. He orders one through an RV shop, then finds a working alternative: a dual marine battery charger (5 amps per bank) that runs off a 110V outlet on his solar inverter. He drives roughly three hours round trip to Elko to pick it up and plans to read the instructions before installing.

Alongside the power work, he states he re-enabled YouTube comments on one video and will keep them on provisionally. He states he does not want unsolicited advice because it fragments his process, names that as something to work on, and says he will explore each trigger with AI.

He also notes fear on the mountain grade is markedly lower than the previous day and attributes it to integration. He tracks propane use at 3% per hour and notes he forgot his sunglasses.

Environment

Recorded from the driver's seat of an RV in motion across Northern Nevada, descending and re-ascending a mountain grade near Chimney Rock toward a National Forest dispersed camp where rswfire has stayed for a week. The route runs south to Elko, described as the largest town in Northern Nevada, for a hardware store, a Starbucks, and Mud Hut coffee, then a second hour-and-a-half round trip for a marine battery charger.

The secondary environment is electrical: house batteries, a 30-amp shore plug, a Power Watchdog surge protector, a 350W solar panel with MC4 connectors, an inverter/power station pair, a propane generator, and a Zamp Solar SAE port. A third environment is the YouTube comment layer, addressed directly to camera. Autumn foliage, wind, and open horizon on the grade are consistently noted.

Substrate

The architecture held is systems literacy acquired by direct contact — rswfire builds an electrical model from first principles by testing each charging path (shore, DC-to-DC, Zamp SAE, bonded-neutral plug, marine charger) and reading the failure signal each returns. The ontological position is non-prescriptive sovereignty: he states he does not prescribe solutions to others and does not want them prescribed to him, because unsolicited advice fragments a learning process he is running whole. Running alongside is a live somatic observation — the mountain grade produced markedly less fear than the prior day, which he registers as integration rather than mood, and the comment layer is being reopened as a controlled variable to be explored rather than a channel to be managed.

Mirror

You are driving a mountain you have already driven five times, and you are counting. 9:35 at the base, 9:43 at the top — eight minutes, timed, logged aloud. You call out your own gear selection, your RPMs, your speed. Third gear at fifty. Three thousand RPMs before the actual grade. You name it as reckless while you are doing it and you do not stop doing it. The odometer reads 30,198 and you say that is not good either. You are tracking the vehicle and yourself on the same instrument panel.

The fear is measurably lower than yesterday and you register the difference in real time, repeatedly, without settling it. You ask the question out loud — explain that, maybe I integrated it, did I really resolve this issue — and you leave it open across the whole ascent. You locate the trigger precisely: the spots where all you see is the horizon and nothing else. You state that some days are better than others and that you do not know why. You do not convert the observation into a conclusion. What is absent is any attempt to make the reduced fear mean something beyond what it is.

The electrical work runs as a sequence of eliminations, each one producing a readable result. Generator: four and a half hours, works, costs propane and quiet you do not want to spend near other campers. Shore plug to inverter: powers on, then the Power Watchdog refuses the charge because it detects no ground. Bonded-neutral plug bought in Elko: its own light comes on, the Watchdog still says no ground. Zamp SAE port: proprietary, no adapter within hours of driving, ordered, arriving Tuesday or Wednesday, and you state you are not certain the port is wired to anything at all. Marine dual charger: acquired on a second hour-and-a-half run each way, five amps per bank, ten volts against the generator's fourteen — and you correct yourself mid-calculation from twenty-four to fourteen, then note the gap is smaller than you assumed. You say you tried everything to make this work. Every path you tested returned a specific failure and you kept the specificity.

The numbers you carry are partial and you mark them as partial. The house batteries are marine-style, larger than what the store stocked, probably a couple hundred dollars, possibly more. You read 11.9 in the morning, 12.12 an hour later, and say weird. You estimate 200 amp hours and say you are guessing. You state you did not charge for the first four days because you did not understand at the time, and that you may have hurt them. You attribute your runtime figures to AI by name each time. Your load is stated exactly: laptop, satellite internet, a couple of lights. You say your needs are not great.

The comment layer is opened as one more test with terms stated to camera. You will not monitor them. You will respond on camera if at all. You name what you dislike — advice you did not ask for — and you name the mechanism: it fragments your process, and you are not interested in fragmented solutions. You state that you do not prescribe, that the channel demonstrates this, and that you are asking the same in return while predicting you will not get it. You say you do not compartmentalize, that it is not a thing you can do, and you decline to unpack it further on the drive. You say you will run each trigger through AI as it occurs.

You are still moving west. Kentucky is behind you and you state it has not hit you yet. Oregon is ahead and you say you cannot wait for the coast. You consider staying another week and then say you have to get to Oregon. You forgot your sunglasses and note that forgetting increases the odds of remembering. The autumn bands on the slope — yellow low, orange middle, green remaining — you describe as beautiful and then ask how that works. Your phone flattens the mountains and you say so five times. Nothing about the day is resolved. The adapter has not arrived, the ground fault stands unexplained, the charger is unread and uninstalled, and you say you will not install it without knowing what you are doing.
