The heat had cleared the grounds. rswfire arrived to find the place empty — a condition he noted aloud as unprecedented, in all the times he had come here. The pavilions stood unoccupied, the open field unwalked, the bleachers vacant across the far side. He read the emptiness as a function of temperature: nobody else wanted to be here. He was here anyway, camera in hand, already moving.
He had spotted something before he began recording — a spot that interested him, and the question of whether he could reach it. Wires crossed overhead, and he took them as instruction: no cutting across the field. So he navigated around, narrating the route as he found it, turning right where the ground told him to turn right. He passed under pavilions that weren't the ones he wanted. Further down, across the field, the bleachers held shade and a vantage point, and that was where he was going. Along the way he passed the object again — the unidentified thing he had now seen roughly a dozen times, curious enough to remark on, not curious enough to ask. He could ask AI if he really wanted to know. He kept walking.
The site announced itself as he crossed it: an entertainment pavilion, a place built for families and fun activities, for things that happen here. He said he could remember his younger days exploring places like this, always wanting to be outside — the way he does now. He stated that solitude outdoors is a truly magical thing, and in the same breath made room for company, noting that he enjoys his own quite a lot. Somewhere in the crossing, one of his hiking boots began to squeak. Six months old. He read the sound as wear, and wear as a signal: time for new ones.
He settled onto the bleachers, in the shade, above the field. And from that vantage he said the thing he had come to say. He was going to change the name of his channel. He didn't yet know to what — only the direction: something related to being a nomadic thinker, because he is a nomad and he is a deep thinker and he embraces both fully. A large portion of the channel had been about personal growth, and he stated he had reached the pinnacle of that from his point of view. Aspects of it would continue, because that is his nature. But he had reached integration. A deep love for himself, a deep respect, an acceptance he did not have in his youth. He stated he is comfortable with who he is and unconcerned with how others see him, and that this took forty-seven years.
What would replace the growth frame was documentation — day-to-day life, and a format he was still building. He described the text overlays he had begun integrating, surfacing his thought processes in a humorous register, a strategy he had been developing with AI. He said there were many levels to why he liked it and that he could not name them all off the cuff, because that is not how his brain works. As a stream-of-consciousness videographer, he stated, he struggles to share his full thoughts; the overlays reach some of what the speaking does not. Themes were already emerging — the pauses, the mornings when he starts recording before he is fully awake and his cognition runs at a slower speed. He wanted to acknowledge that, humorously, because he is fully embracing who he is. He wanted to take people on hikes without talking the whole time, to let them see and experience what he experiences, and he believed there was a way to do that without it being boring. It would be a process. He said he loves iterating, loves processes.
Then the boundaries. He named the misreading directly: when he works through challenges, people take it for complaining, when someone with integrated cognition and a growth mindset is making assessments — evaluating a skill set, working a problem from a perspective most people do not share. He acknowledged that some of his audience is already turned off by things he says, and let it stand: they are different people, he does not need to be liked, following is a choice, others will replace those who leave. He is looking for his tribe. He stated he does not want sympathy, and does not want answers handed to him for problems he is solving himself, because that misses the point. He would not invest mental energy in the misaligned — no reason to. People think they can leave whatever comment they want on his YouTube, he said, and it does not work that way. He sets the rules.
Mid-sentence, the thread went. He noticed it, named it — losing the thread here, that happens sometimes — and decided to keep it in. Because the channel is first and foremost for himself, a way to document his life. He said he is on a new journey and wants it recorded; six months in, he thinks it is awesome. Second, it is for the people who want to be part of that journey, whom he takes as inputs into a holistic mindset that shapes what the channel becomes. A new chapter, a new name. He stated he had grown into himself, which is exactly what he set out to do when he started the channel and moved into the RV — that he did exactly what he set out to do, and is damn proud of himself. Now he would live his best life. If people wanted to follow along, he thought that was wonderful. If not, he understood. The field stayed empty below him, and the heat held.
