[0:00] good morning humans it's 9:00 here it's
[0:04] Sunday um unfortunately last night I
[0:07] discovered that the laundry facilities
[0:09] aren't here anymore I thought maybe the
[0:11] doors were just shut but they're
[0:12] actually repurposed something else now
[0:16] so we're going to go find a laundry mat
[0:17] today I was looking on the map and I was
[0:20] thinking if we go in a certain direction
[0:23] we'll be near Mammoth Caves and there's
[0:25] a state park there called Nolan Nolan
[0:27] River I think and I thought could check
[0:30] that out has a potential place to stay
[0:33] uh for the next place that I go to so
[0:36] that's what we're going to do this
[0:38] morning um it's quite hot already it's
[0:41] like in the 80s already outside it's 73
[0:44] in here um it's going to get into the
[0:47] '90s looks like we still have more than
[0:50] a week of that to go so I have reflec
[0:52] tis up on all the windows feels like a
[0:55] bit of a cave in here we're probably
[0:58] going to do laundry and cas City and we
[1:01] might go check out Mammoth Caves cuz
[1:02] we'll be near that so guess that's kind
[1:05] of a theme so I really want to figure
[1:08] out some kind of solution for
[1:11] showing um my drive but I just I don't
[1:15] know how I'm going to get a GoPro up
[1:17] there pointing
[1:18] outward I'm still thinking that through
[1:21] cuz I would like to be able to do that I
[1:23] don't want to use my
[1:25] phone
[1:26] and like I'm ready to start making
[1:29] better videos so I want to share what
[1:32] I'm seeing maybe I could clamp it to my
[1:34] rearview mirror could give that a
[1:38] try so I have a lot of laundry to do
[1:41] this place looks absolutely busy as hell
[1:43] though got all my stuff here so let's
[1:47] find out if I can actually get it done
[1:49] at this place so they had a drop off
[1:52] service I didn't have to um just going
[1:55] to let them do it for me it was a little
[1:56] bit more but um now we can go and
[1:58] explore we're going to go check out the
[2:00] state park see if that's a suitable
[2:01] place for me to stay
[2:03] next and then we're going to go to
[2:05] mammoth's
[2:06] caves so apparently we are in within the
[2:09] bounds of the Mammoth Cave National Park
[2:12] I'm just driving down the road though I
[2:15] wasn't expecting that but I'm not seeing
[2:18] anything yet we're just basically
[2:20] traveling down a road with a bunch of
[2:22] trees on both sides of it um we're
[2:25] passing through we've got 30 mil to go
[2:29] we're going to no State Park uh it's a
[2:32] little further away than I thought it
[2:33] was but we're going to go check that out
[2:35] and then when we come back here we're
[2:38] going to do some stuff at Mammoth Caves
[2:40] and then we'll pick up my laundry and
[2:43] head back
[2:59] [Music]
[3:02] right to check this out on the way back
[3:07] [Music]
[3:31] and they're closed it's Sunday we're
[3:33] just here to scout out their sight see
[3:36] what they look like and just make
[3:37] assessments about them and see if I
[3:39] might stay here next so let's go do that
[3:41] those prices are outrageous I think I
[3:44] knew this once upon a time and that's
[3:46] why I didn't come here we are not
[3:48] staying here for
[3:50] that that is too
[3:52] much we're just down by the water we're
[3:55] going to hang out here for a minute
[3:56] while I look and see what's around maybe
[3:58] there's some other Campground
[4:01] think we might have a solution for my
[4:03] GoPro put this up here okay let me show
[4:06] you from this Ang over here then this
[4:11] can can mount to this going to do that
[4:14] now I need both my hands that is not bad
[4:17] that should work I also have a remote I
[4:20] have two different GoPros in two of
[4:22] these I don't know which one this goes
[4:24] to let's find
[4:27] out it's got battery power
[4:30] says it's
[4:32] connecting see if it works with this
[4:36] one it does cool so just like that I can
[4:39] press a
[4:41] button and it's recording press the
[4:45] button done
[4:47] recording I can charge it
[4:50] through that little Port right there
[4:54] sorry it's hard to do
[4:58] this um I I have two Chargers I use one
[5:02] of them for my phone that's how I get
[5:05] GPS and stuff but I can use that one
[5:07] with this I actually have something we
[5:09] can use to do that this is awesome I'm
[5:13] so glad that just you got to keep
[5:16] thinking about okay so we can't use that
[5:19] one because we don't have that um that's
[5:22] a usba
[5:23] a I did bring
[5:27] one that's one NE oh that must already
[5:30] been in here but I do have one yeah
[5:32] right here this one's long I got others
[5:34] at home
[5:35] though funny how I call my RV my
[5:39] home because it is it's showing that
[5:43] it's connected to the
[5:46] USB um which means it's
[5:48] charging
[5:54] huh I'm surprised the screen doesn't go
[5:57] away what's that about oh there we go
[6:02] okay so we just put it on video probably
[6:06] I do want to switch this to 30 cuz I
[6:08] feel like we've been having problems
[6:10] with it
[6:12] overheating so we'll do that oh no don't
[6:14] start
[6:16] uploading I guess that'd be okay cuz
[6:18] we're running off of um wait how does it
[6:22] that thing doesn't have internet that
[6:23] doesn't make any sense what does it
[6:24] think it's
[6:26] doing and then there are different
[6:28] settings like whyde and they get pretty
[6:30] crazy but I don't think
[6:33] that I think the L one works the best I
[6:37] experimented with it a little bit but
[6:39] maybe for this view it makes sense to go
[6:42] wide let's see what that looks
[6:45] like okay so we get a little bit more
[6:49] of the sides that's actually pretty good
[6:51] we would want that I think we're going
[6:53] to play with this I'm going to figure
[6:55] out if there's anywhere else to stay
[6:57] around here the lake does look nice I'll
[7:00] show you I mean it's not we're not
[7:01] getting a great view from here right but
[7:03] you know looks like nice Blue Water lots
[7:05] of people are having a good
[7:07] time and we just
[7:10] um need to figure out where there are
[7:12] trails and where there are places to
[7:15] stay that's too expensive I wouldn't
[7:17] want to pay this isn't even a Resort
[7:19] Park in those they're charging those
[7:20] prices that's wild to me so I'm going to
[7:23] do some I'm going to look on
[7:24] recreation.gov and see what's around
[7:26] here I did see some Coe properties Maybe
[7:29] there somewhere there's
[7:31] campgrounds okay it looks like there's
[7:33] three uh cor of engineer campgrounds
[7:35] around here we're going to go check
[7:38] those out and then there is one in the
[7:40] National
[7:41] Park uh A Mammoth Cave National Park so
[7:44] when we're on our way back I think we
[7:46] might go for a hike there if I can find
[7:47] somewhere to go hiking there um we we'll
[7:50] check on that campground to you
[7:57] [Music]
[8:08] are
[8:12] slow for
[8:16] ask please don't
[8:22] make you don't know the half AB
[8:30] [Music]
[8:33] all my
[8:34] [Music]
[8:44] areow
[8:52] itow you don't know the of
[8:57] the my friend are he
[9:02] slow wait for them to ask you who you
[9:06] know please don't
[9:09] make
[9:12] M you don't know the half of
[9:16] [Music]
[9:20] the looks like you might be
[9:36] my take it
[9:39] slow wait for them to ask you who you
[9:44] know please don't make any s
[9:50] moves you don't know the half
[9:54] of so it cost 32 a night at Coe
[9:58] campgrounds I'm back at the noan state
[10:00] one um so we're looking at well it gets
[10:04] pretty high I mean 32 versus 45 and then
[10:08] there's Lake View
[10:11] ones I don't think this place will work
[10:14] we're just going to let's just pass it
[10:15] out
[10:18] [Music]
[10:35] all right so we are at I think I don't
[10:37] know how
[10:43] to Mak
[10:45] sense they are closed
[10:48] today we're just going to look around
[10:51] and see
[10:52] if is somewhere we want to stay
[11:12] so we kind of have a good sense of what
[11:14] to expect but let's just see how busy
[11:17] the place is and if there are any
[11:20] particular sites that look appealing to
[11:24] me and we'll just check out their
[11:26] facilities
[11:29] so we're just going to take a quick look
[11:35] around we are doing the aop
[11:39] now my gopro's recording which is pretty
[11:42] cool so we'll have two different views
[11:44] here okay
[11:48] so I'm not particularly fond of these
[11:56] sites not C busy T camper
[12:07] there so I don't
[12:11] know the rest area is right over
[12:15] there
[12:17] a12 might not be bad let's keep a12 in
[12:23] mind it's nothing special to look at or
[12:26] show you probably I need to get better
[12:29] at this this is a process so now we're
[12:32] going to go look at the
[12:34] beop got a school bus up
[12:38] here I I got a feeling the aop was more
[12:40] T campers but there weren't many there
[12:43] there was only one yeah these ones are
[12:45] so close
[12:48] together lots of people near the lake of
[12:57] course um
[13:06] thought I had hundreds of sights this
[13:08] doesn't seem very big
[13:25] actually pretty standard you know if I I
[13:29] did stay here probably don't need to
[13:31] care too much about
[13:35] where I'm going to have to deal with
[13:37] people no matter what but maybe maybe we
[13:40] can find something
[13:41] better here the a loop looked okay to me
[13:46] actually so we're going to go down
[13:48] further see what's down here
[14:00] yeah it's pretty big so here we
[14:03] have C and D Loops I think also do not
[14:09] under so we would have had to drive over
[14:12] that
[14:13] way okay see what we got
[14:17] here I'd say these are primitive sites
[14:20] I'm not seeing any electric or water
[14:24] hookups should explain why they're empty
[14:31] these are very
[14:33] primitive
[14:35] wow fasinating I haven't seen this in a
[14:39] while especially a loop this
[14:47] size okay so this is definitely a
[14:50] primitive
[14:54] Loop you want to avoid this area
[15:03] I mean if you wanted to get away from
[15:06] people that's where you'd go I just I
[15:08] don't feel like I can get away without
[15:10] electric yet I do have solar but it's
[15:14] you know I have no experience with it
[15:18] and I'm not sure it could really power
[15:19] all of my equipment so I'm kind of
[15:23] unsure like at some and also we know
[15:27] there's lots of trees and stuff getting
[15:29] those things powered every day could be
[15:31] a problem I need more experience with
[15:33] it I feel like that's a thing that would
[15:35] be easier out
[15:37] west to learn and then maybe you know
[15:41] next year maybe if we're back this way
[15:43] then maybe it does make sense uh to stay
[15:46] at like spots like this because there's
[15:49] nobody here I mean it's primitive
[15:52] camping I actually could get into that
[15:55] and it would be cheaper you know we
[15:57] found a dump station
[16:01] okay this place's actually pretty
[16:04] big so now we're heading
[16:10] to all
[16:15] right this is pretty big
[16:17] actually I'm going to guess it this way
[16:20] is more primitive but we're going to
[16:21] check it
[16:24] out well no we got some people over here
[16:27] on the lake let let's keep looking this
[16:29] way though
[16:31] first okay there's all right now we got
[16:34] some Power and Water that's a pulloff
[16:37] site very very tight
[16:45] one but their campers are my side so I
[16:48] guess it's
[16:52] possible that one's down too far um the
[16:55] Ang like that wouldn't be fun to do
[17:00] oh we go this way
[17:05] [Music]
[17:15] okay I
[17:17] think that one seems no I
[17:22] see no I think that one is primitive
[17:25] actually might have water I think it has
[17:28] water yeah water no
[17:32] power or yeah okay I see what's
[17:34] happening here these are definitely for
[17:35] tank campers because it's got water and
[17:38] then it's got standard um electrical
[17:41] hookups that's pretty neat i' never seen
[17:43] that how cool is
[17:45] that very cool that's very
[17:49] cool so here we have one that um this
[17:53] one's not so bad I might actually like
[17:55] this spot
[17:57] C32 just kind kind of pull off and we
[18:00] got this little area
[18:02] here let me just unplug this and make it
[18:06] easier to
[18:07] know well there goes my
[18:10] GoPro C32 seems
[18:14] okay that's the first one that I
[18:16] actually think kind of speaks to me or
[18:19] this one would be even better actually
[18:23] c34
[18:27] um of course if if you had neighbors
[18:29] You' be
[18:31] well it wouldn't be so bad c34 is
[18:34] actually a very good one um this one
[18:38] obviously back end site nice spot for my
[18:41] Jeep not very level
[18:44] though that one would take some
[18:47] effort so I do like
[18:51] c34 these are back in
[18:56] sight um I wouldn't want to be at this
[18:59] one because now you're getting too close
[19:00] to where everything's happening right so
[19:06] um we'd want to avoid
[19:09] that so right now c34 is like our best
[19:13] possibility let's go check out this
[19:15] other
[19:16] loop D the d
[19:19] loop and then there's more over that way
[19:22] so we're going to start
[19:27] here okay most people are going to be
[19:29] over here because of the
[19:31] lake so we wouldn't um this wouldn't be
[19:35] where I'd want to
[19:36] be it's nice to be on the lake actually
[19:39] it's kind of surprising
[19:41] because I was on the
[19:44] lake um in Tennessee and I was back
[19:47] there by myself for a
[19:49] week so it really kind of depends I
[19:53] guess maybe on the time of year I don't
[19:55] know but yeah I wouldn't want to be here
[19:58] well
[20:02] we've got electric and power here and
[20:05] these are pretty private well I mean not
[20:08] necessarily private but you would have
[20:09] some great
[20:10] [Music]
[20:12] views so d10 d11 would be
[20:17] ideal oh wait okay
[20:20] D12 that would be very hard to get into
[20:23] that looks almost impossible to me
[20:26] honestly I don't those are so those are
[20:29] so thin
[20:32] like I would not want to try that so I
[20:37] kind I wouldn't want to try that that
[20:39] just
[20:40] feels it would have be a nice spot if
[20:43] you know this is a very thin Road here
[20:45] so that's a very interesting camper wow
[20:48] I wonder if my Jeep could have told
[20:49] something like that that would have been
[20:52] very cool if it
[20:54] could so that's this one
[21:00] and then there was another loop over
[21:04] here oh I got to get into a different
[21:06] gear
[21:12] here so we're looking at D again
[21:18] um so if I was pulling in
[21:21] here I wanted to take one of these
[21:26] sights it would
[21:32] well I'd go in a circle I'd come back
[21:34] and then I'd reverse in that looks looks
[21:37] a little scary a little bit dangerous
[21:39] for me till I get better d35 is not bad
[21:43] though so we could consider that
[21:48] one um that one well somebody just got
[21:52] their moped or something there
[21:58] I can understand why people would stay
[22:00] at these spots but you're going to have
[22:02] a lot of neighbors
[22:05] and like d33 seem well that's a pretty
[22:09] steep that's not very
[22:12] level I like level and I don't want to
[22:15] put too much effort into being level
[22:18] either
[22:20] so I think that if I was going to stay
[22:23] here it's going to be over near that
[22:26] that one we saw when I've already
[22:27] forgotten it that's why I said it on
[22:29] camera I think it was like C20 or
[22:32] something let's go take a
[22:34] look like there's here c22 we wouldn't
[22:37] want it that's too close to
[22:40] everybody but we would just come over
[22:44] here let's
[22:47] see yeah we want to come up
[22:53] here cuz this is not too bad there's not
[22:55] a whole lot Happening Here
[22:59] so for my last two weeks here in
[23:02] Kentucky we've be near Mammoth Caves and
[23:05] Cave City and it seems like there's a
[23:07] lot of cool stuff to do around here so
[23:10] um I actually kind of want to
[23:13] stay so
[23:16] C30 is okay C32 is
[23:20] better just feel like it's better maybe
[23:22] it's the trees I don't know and then c34
[23:26] that was the one so we'll look that
[23:30] up um I think we might end up here
[23:35] c34 I like
[23:40] that it's possible that I could even you
[23:43] know kind of get a sense of who's
[23:45] staying near me during that time frame
[23:48] based on reservations so one of those
[23:51] three seem pretty ideal so we're going
[23:54] to look into
[23:56] that so I'm just making one last little
[23:59] Loop here these are the B sites they've
[24:02] got Water and Electric lots of people
[24:05] though I need to use a restroom I think
[24:07] there's a and I'll just check out the
[24:09] facilities while I'm
[24:13] here pretty sure we checked all this out
[24:15] yeah there's a facilities over
[24:18] there just want to see how they
[24:23] look those don't seem so bad down there
[24:26] near the water
[24:32] um a little bit
[24:41] hard okay I came the wrong way to get
[24:43] down to the facilities we got to go
[24:47] around curious if you can hear me on
[24:49] that GoPro cuz I'm not using my phone at
[24:51] the
[24:53] moment it does [ __ ] down from heat I
[24:56] don't know if I can solve that or not it
[24:57] gets pretty hot
[24:59] and there's not even a battery in it
[25:00] right now
[25:02] so um we'll have to see
[25:05] like I don't know I mean it is a
[25:08] settings thing maybe like if I were to
[25:10] dial the settings down a whole lot but I
[25:13] would want to do that so I'm just going
[25:14] to have to be conscious of it
[25:17] and
[25:20] um it should be fine like cuz I don't
[25:23] need to be recording for
[25:25] like a long periods of time I guess
[25:30] with that
[25:39] one I need to get down to this facility
[25:42] which seems
[25:44] impossible W this place is kind of
[25:47] amazed yeah cuz I'm right back where I
[25:49] was okay I got to go the other
[25:53] way I'm just trying to get down there to
[25:55] go peeing
[26:09] so we got to take the long
[26:11] round to get down
[26:22] there okay
[26:36] that spot's not so bad cuz that would be
[26:38] easy to get
[26:40] into really
[26:45] easy easy can be
[26:50] good all
[26:54] right we are still not how do you get
[26:59] over there that's
[27:00] [Music]
[27:02] crazy I don't understand how you get
[27:04] over
[27:07] there
[27:10] wow I don't see how you get to that
[27:18] Loop there's nowhere to really Park so
[27:34] wild let's go find out which one I'd be
[27:36] using though anyways cuz I'd be over in
[27:38] that other loop there's got to be one
[27:40] over there
[27:50] somewhere go down to the loop that I'm
[27:52] going to stay
[27:53] on which I think is this one see
[28:01] we will go this
[28:24] way I would hope they have facilities
[28:27] around here
[28:36] all right these are all
[28:37] primitive yeah and they need facilities
[28:40] because of that so boy they're quite far
[28:43] away from me we couldn't walk to
[28:55] them this feels very um remote
[29:12] though I like that this feels very
[29:25] remote okay I think I see a building
[29:31] wait so this is
[29:35] not all right here's the dump station
[29:38] and the dumpsters I didn't see that and
[29:40] then we would be over
[29:42] here yeah we would
[29:45] go make sure I got this rain I keep
[29:47] forgetting the
[29:50] number this feels different than
[29:58] I thought we would be yeah up there
[30:00] right up there so this would be the one
[30:02] right
[30:03] here
[30:06] okay so we would come here I see the
[30:09] men's
[30:13] spot a little unclear how you park
[30:16] here just like
[30:20] this hey we'll be right back
[30:33] [Music]
[30:54] ow
[30:59] okay very basic
[31:01] facilities um they remind me of the ones
[31:03] from Tennessee
[31:06] actually um they're a bit dirty too but
[31:09] I mean it would work this is my life
[31:11] this is how I live
[31:13] so can't complain too
[31:16] much trying to remember if this Loop
[31:20] okay it's both ways so we can go this
[31:23] way
[31:31] and we will be staying up there so we'll
[31:34] just make one last loop around
[31:38] it because that that is the shower room
[31:42] I would
[31:43] use actually need birth here for
[31:48] this okay there we
[31:53] go yeah we will be over there
[31:57] are not great showers honestly
[32:01] but they are what they
[32:11] are I think that we probably stay here
[32:14] but just because uh time's getting short
[32:17] they have so many other
[32:26] priorities and this will work you know
[32:29] it's not and you know we're not going to
[32:31] be spending all our time here we're
[32:33] going to be exploring and doing stuff
[32:36] so I think this
[32:54] works so I want to try something here
[32:57] this didn't tape too well so I I want to
[33:01] try a different view I want to see what
[33:02] this looks
[33:04] like so we're going to go this try
[33:08] because might give you a different
[33:12] perspective okay but I'm going to want
[33:14] to tilt it down see that one this little
[33:18] screen yeah like that let's give that Dy
[33:21] fore and see how that goes I'll review
[33:24] the footage in a little
[33:26] while see a complet completely different
[33:28] view but it's almost like a
[33:30] first how would you describe that it's
[33:32] not first
[33:34] person I mean I guess it's third person
[33:36] but um with a sort of first person being
[33:40] you guys don't often get to see me use
[33:42] my body as part of my language CU it's
[33:44] always so close to my
[33:46] face and you can see like my little Dash
[33:50] here which always has lots of cool stuff
[33:53] on
[33:54] it like the lake and
[33:58] you know I don't know I just think it
[33:59] could be fun I'm going to give it a
[34:03] try hopefully you can hear
[34:05] me we'll find out my when I was hiking
[34:09] yesterday using the GoPro I was
[34:11] surprised um how much I picked up my
[34:14] steps cuz it it's picked up my steps way
[34:16] more than my phone
[34:19] does
[34:21] so lots of experimentation I mean that's
[34:24] what all this is right now we're
[34:26] experimenting to find w works and um
[34:29] what feels like the kind of format I
[34:32] would want to have for my channel and
[34:34] all of that like we're just we're
[34:36] experimenting experimentation is
[34:40] fun iteration is
[34:44] fun so we're going to leave here I
[34:48] think yeah we're going to go to Mammoth
[34:50] Caves now
[34:53] because um there's nothing else to see
[34:56] here really we could go of the other Coe
[34:58] campgrounds but I don't really see a
[35:01] point I'll see over there I'm pretty
[35:04] capy with that
[35:08] spot and it keeps us in a pretty good
[35:11] area I
[35:20] think I'll have to stop the pump put
[35:23] something into the map it won't let me
[35:26] do it one r okay so here's the
[35:32] road figure out where we're
[35:40] going we are going to go to Mammoth well
[35:44] we could check out the Mammoth Caves um
[35:46] Campground I am curious about it it
[35:50] looked really big
[35:58] and then that will get
[36:03] us trying to think I don't think it
[36:05] takes me too far from my laundry
[36:07] hopefully I guess we'll find
[36:09] out so which way are we go left that's
[36:12] interesting I thought we're going to go
[36:16] right um yeah noan noan Lake was north
[36:20] of Mammoth Caves and Cave City I think
[36:23] was where my laundry is I think it's
[36:27] close to Mammoth Caves than it is to
[36:29] this
[36:30] place so we're
[36:47] good up
[36:51] above I was choking in the ground
[36:53] building my brain up in the CL falling
[36:56] my ashes to the ground hopeing my
[36:58] feelings they were drown but they never
[37:00] did never live up and and they never Liv
[37:02] till it broke up when it rain down it
[37:17] rain
[37:20] [Music]
[37:24] me let the gold Let the Rain
[37:32] [Music]
[37:41] my the Flames you're the face of the
[37:44] future the blood in my veins oh
[37:47] ooh the blood in my veins oh
[37:52] ooh but they never did ever live de and
[37:55] flowing in heav lied till it broke open
[37:57] you rain down you rain down
[38:04] [Music]
[38:10] like to meie
[38:14] [Music]
[38:20] [Music]
[38:26] [Music]
[38:27] me
[38:29] [Music]
[38:48] believer I wish I found some sounds no
[38:50] one's ever heard I wish I had a better
[38:53] voice and S some better words I wish I
[38:55] found some chords in an order that is
[38:57] new I wish I didn't have to rhyme every
[38:59] time I sing I was when I get old all my
[39:02] are but now I'm insecure and don't care
[39:04] what people
[39:20] think I just want to stay in the sun
[39:23] where I find I know it's hard sometimes
[39:27] pieces of Peace in son's peace of mind I
[39:31] know it's hard sometimes yeah I think
[39:34] about the end just way too much but it's
[39:37] fun to
[39:39] fasiz all my enemies who wouldn't wish
[39:42] who I was but
[39:44] [Music]
[39:48] it's I'm boring so I'm taking my time on
[39:52] my
[39:53] right oh w w I'm boring so I'm I'm
[39:57] taking my time on my
[40:03] ride taking my time on
[40:09] my I am still experimenting with this
[40:11] thing turned off my laundry is ready
[40:14] we're going to go get
[40:16] that then we'll head to Mammoth
[40:19] Caves I'm loving this
[40:23] [Music]
[40:29] a little scaring
[40:31] [Music]
[40:36] sound
[40:38] Yes W stay
[40:42] there right yes okay orange
[40:50] juice been wondering if your heart still
[40:54] open and if so I want to know
[40:57] [Music]
[41:02] time I'm interrup I'm constantly on
[41:09] the to kiss
[41:12] you I
[41:15] you feel the as I do
[41:21] [Music]
[41:26] [Music]
[41:30] if I told you things I did before told
[41:34] you how I used to
[41:36] be would you go along with someone like
[41:43] me if you knew my story wor for word had
[41:48] a love my
[41:50] history would you go along with someone
[41:54] like me
[41:57] I did before and had my
[42:00] sh
[42:04] didn't I withone like
[42:11] you doesn't matter
[42:19] do around see this
[42:24] night we don't care about the young
[42:32] don't care about
[42:44] the all we care about
[42:49] talking me you
[43:07] fire get high fire
[43:10] get fire get high fire high high high
[43:17] high high high high high high high high
[43:32] why
[43:35] [Music]
[44:18] [Music]
[44:21] fire get higher fire fire get higher
[44:25] higher higher higher
[44:29] High
[44:41] [Music]
[45:10] get higher higher higher higher higher
[45:12] high
[45:13] [Music]
[45:23] [Music]
[45:39] so I figured since we were here I might
[45:40] as well just stop at The Visitor Center
[45:42] they are open hey I'm not surprised this
[45:45] place is packed
[45:47] so there are license plates from all
[45:50] over this country
[45:52] like some of them I don't even know
[45:57] I don't know what that
[46:01] is
[46:03] anyways went in there and got a trail
[46:05] map it's the only thing I cared
[46:09] about okay it's
[46:15] showing wow those are some massive
[46:18] [ __ ]
[46:19] caves these are the
[46:23] caves we'll look at this more closely
[46:25] later but it looks looks like the trail
[46:27] map's on the other
[46:30] side let's see what we got to work with
[46:33] here wow I am loving
[46:38] it so we're here
[46:42] sorry right
[46:47] here we're going to go into Cave City
[46:49] from my laundry I think we came from
[46:52] Brownsville which means we
[46:55] took 70
[46:58] in I passed the
[47:03] trail trying to see if I see it
[47:06] here apparently the ferry is
[47:11] closed wow there's a lot of
[47:15] trails I know we're spending our time
[47:18] there's Cave City down at the bottom
[47:20] that's where we're
[47:22] going wonder what the scale on this
[47:25] thing is
[47:37] this is amazing I love
[47:42] this hello that thing
[47:46] keeps um keeps dying but oh well it
[47:50] lasts a good
[47:51] while I can't really tell what are your
[47:54] got a pretty decent view there don't you
[47:57] can try different settings too right now
[47:58] we have it in wide
[48:00] view there's really nowhere else I could
[48:02] put it so there or it's either up here
[48:05] or
[48:06] there um we're going to go get my
[48:08] laundry because it's ready uh I just got
[48:11] a map from The Visitor Center of all the
[48:14] hiking trails here at Mammoth
[48:16] Caves it's remarkably hot I am sweating
[48:20] just from sitting in this vehicle for a
[48:21] couple
[48:22] minutes
[48:25] so um it's going to be like that all
[48:28] week it sucks but we're going to be in
[48:30] this area I guess if we go to that one
[48:33] Campground we looked at we're going to
[48:35] be 30 minutes from this place that's not
[48:37] too bad that's how far the 47 Bridges
[48:39] was from me so it's
[48:42] doable and I don't think we're going to
[48:44] find anything closer
[48:47] so so it's going to take some practice
[48:50] but we'll get it um it shut down again
[48:53] anyways we're on our way to get my
[48:55] laundry not sure why it keep shutting
[48:57] down doesn't feel
[48:59] hot um it has a
[49:02] battery the portable
[49:05] batteries all right finally got this
[49:07] stupid thing working
[49:11] again seems to be struggling with
[49:13] certain cables with certain setup like
[49:15] all kinds of stuff we will figure this
[49:18] out
[49:35] so I've been working on a new
[49:37] way to help people understand
[49:42] my my thought patterns what's going on
[49:45] beneath the surface of my videos
[49:48] because there's a lot that's happening
[49:51] that just you don't verbalize and I feel
[49:55] like there's a way for me
[49:58] to help bridge that Gap with others I
[50:03] worked with AI on this yesterday a new
[50:04] strategy I actually already uploaded a
[50:06] video where you kind of see me make
[50:09] these little
[50:11] quotes um that are basically about the
[50:16] different cognitive processes and
[50:19] the thoughts that are beneath what I'm
[50:22] saying to kind of give you a another
[50:26] layer
[50:28] into into my thought process and how
[50:32] what it is I'm I'm expressing in these
[50:35] videos I just you know we driving here
[50:38] and I just started thinking about I'd
[50:40] been struggling because there's several
[50:43] different
[50:45] aspects that I wanted to
[50:50] convey like the mental process at work
[50:53] like it could be adapted cognitive
[50:55] synthesis or or um integrated thinking
[50:59] or
[51:00] um a certain type of
[51:04] empathy um there's another thing
[51:07] called cognitive extension like there's
[51:10] all these different things that I do
[51:12] dialectical
[51:14] reasoning
[51:16] and I tried presenting all the different
[51:19] layers on screen and that was just
[51:22] impossible so I came up with this other
[51:25] strategy where I'm just showing kind of
[51:27] my internal thoughts that are
[51:29] happening that
[51:31] explain what it is I'm
[51:34] saying but I I feel like that's still
[51:37] not the full picture and I just been
[51:39] sitting here thinking while we're
[51:40] driving
[51:41] here how I might be able to improve that
[51:45] and I've got a couple of
[51:47] ideas one of them is just little icons
[51:51] that are kind of like a key to the
[51:54] different types of cognitive processes
[51:55] that I'm using
[51:58] what alongside those
[52:00] quotes for those who are interested you
[52:02] know this allows people to look at my
[52:05] content on a surface level which is what
[52:07] I think most people do
[52:11] versus everything else that's below the
[52:13] surface but there are so many different
[52:15] levels to that there's these
[52:16] layers that are really hard to
[52:19] convey and I really struggled yesterday
[52:22] trying to figure out how how can I do
[52:25] that on with text overlays and it just
[52:28] wasn't working so I'm still working
[52:31] through a a system for that but
[52:33] that's that's something I really want to
[52:35] do
[52:38] because I think it's
[52:41] necessary it's the only way that I
[52:43] know to communicate my full message
[52:47] because it is so
[52:52] multifaceted so you know just keep an
[52:54] eye out for that because that's
[52:57] going to be a new thing on my channel
[52:58] that I'm working on but I've just been
[53:00] sitting here while we're driving back to
[53:02] the um to my RV to my
[53:07] home
[53:08] how how that might look and I've got a
[53:11] couple more ideas I'm going to try them
[53:13] today we'll see how that goes
[53:47] I know how many people are here this
[53:49] Sunday afternoon
[53:52] so oh the luck maybe it'll be a little
[53:55] quieter
[54:07] surprised there don't have washing
[54:09] machine there
[54:11] anymore showers were kind of broken too
[54:15] I took one last night and I could barely
[54:17] get any hot water out of it
[54:48] whoa it has cleared out there's one RV
[54:52] over on the
[54:54] head everybody's gone
[54:57] yes oh that makes me happy God damn that
[55:01] makes me happy everybody is
[55:02] gone there are people over there they
[55:05] don't matter they're not part of my
[55:09] area oh my God I'm so
[55:14] happy I didn't think my neighbors were
[55:17] leaving until Wednesday so that's a
[55:22] surprise
[55:24] yeah freedom
[55:30] there one people over at the end but
[55:33] that don't
[55:34] matter they're far enough away that I
[55:37] don't care that much it's basically just
[55:49] me I know how M's
[55:53] doing oh but he's
[55:57] I mean he doesn't have access to any
[55:58] Windows reflector it's all up in the
[56:01] windows but it's too hot and I wanted
[56:03] him to be cool I want it to be cool in
[56:06] there you
[56:09] know so let's switch cameras
[56:13] here hello fellow humans we're going to
[56:16] shut this one down hello fellow humans
[56:20] we're going to shut this one down I love
[56:23] this I think this thing is amazing we're
[56:25] going out to work on this mode it's not
[56:27] perfect cuzz it won't stay up oh I mean
[56:29] it will but um yeah see it's going to
[56:32] come I got to fix it um I think that I
[56:34] can too I think I
[56:36] have I could even go with like a with
[56:39] velcro or something and maybe I we need
[56:41] to look at the footage but you know we
[56:44] could switch between the two locations I
[56:46] might put one up in the
[56:47] front um pointing at me so I'm not using
[56:50] my
[56:52] phone um I have another GoPro I just got
[56:56] to find
[56:57] it so there's a whole lot going on in
[57:01] here I got a lot of stuff to get into
[57:04] the camper
[57:06] so and I'm going to have a lot of
[57:08] footage to go through too I just made my
[57:10] life a lot harder by adding a whole
[57:12] bunch more cameras and you know but I
[57:15] think it will be worth it I I'm I'm
[57:17] enjoying this I
[57:19] like I
[57:21] like the creative process I think that
[57:24] this is
[57:27] I I really hope it works out because
[57:29] this is what I want to do yeah it's
[57:32] still it's 77 in here 79 in the cab area
[57:36] 77 in the
[57:39] office 73 over
[57:42] here not terrible but that's even with
[57:45] reflecting everywhere you know
[57:49] so how you doing Bailey he always greets
[57:52] me he always greets me when I come no
[57:56] yeah

Narrative

Sunday opened at nine with a small piece of intelligence confirmed: the laundry facilities were not closed, they were gone — repurposed into something else. rswfire had suspected it the night before when the doors stayed shut. Inside the RV it was 73 degrees against outside air already in the eighties, with reflective panels covering every window, and he described the effect plainly — it felt a bit of a cave in there. Ninety-degree heat was forecast for more than another week. The showers had run cold when he used one the night before. So the day routed outward, and he built the route on the map the way he builds most things: a laundromat in Cave City, and since the direction put him near Mammoth Cave, a state park at Nolin River he might be able to stay at next. Two weeks left on the current site. The next one needed siting.

Before he pulled out, he was already turning over a second problem. He wanted to show the drive — the road, the thing he was actually seeing — and the phone would not do it. He said he was ready to start making better videos. Maybe a clamp on the rearview mirror. He left the idea unfinished and went to do laundry, where the place looked busy as hell and a drop-off service solved it for slightly more money, which freed the rest of the day.

The road to Nolin River ran him straight through Mammoth Cave National Park without announcing itself — just trees on both sides, thirty miles to go, a boundary crossed without a threshold. The state park office was closed for Sunday, which was fine; he had come to scout the sites, not to talk to anyone. He looked at the prices and made the call in one breath: outrageous, too much, not staying here, and a note to himself that he had probably known this once before and that was why he'd never come. Down by the water, with blue lake and other people's good time in the middle distance, he stopped and solved the mirror. The GoPro mounted. The remote paired on the first try — one button to record, one to stop. The USB-A cable was wrong, then a right one surfaced from somewhere in the vehicle. He dropped the framerate to 30 because the unit had been overheating, tried the wide lens against the linear one, watched the sides of the frame open up, and decided that for this view wide made sense. In the middle of it he called the RV home and caught himself doing it, and let the observation stand.

Recreation.gov turned up three Corps of Engineers campgrounds and one inside the national park. Thirty-two dollars a night against forty-five. He drove to the nearest and walked and drove its loops in sequence — A, then B, then C, then D — with the phone in one hand and the GoPro running on the mirror, two angles at once, which pleased him. A read as tent-heavy and mostly empty; A12 he filed away. B sat close to the lake and packed people shoulder to shoulder. Deep in C and D he found long primitive stretches with no electric and no water, which explained why they were vacant, and he named the tradeoff without flinching: that is where you would go to get away from people, and he could get into it, and it would be cheaper, but he has solar he has never used and no confidence it could carry his equipment under all those trees. Learning off-grid, he said, would be easier out west. Maybe next year, if they come back this way.

Then the sites started speaking. Water and standard electrical at tent sites — he had never seen that, and said so twice. A pull-through too tight to be worth the angle. C30 was okay. C32 was better, maybe the trees. C34 was the one — back-in, room for the Jeep, far enough from where everything was happening, though not perfectly level, and he does not want to put much effort into level. In D, sites 10 and 11 had the views and D12 had an approach he judged nearly impossible, a road too thin to attempt until he gets better at it. D33 sat too steep. He kept saying the numbers out loud into the camera because he kept forgetting them. Somewhere in the middle of this he needed a restroom, and the way down to the bathhouse turned into a small maze — wrong turn, full loop, back where he started, the geometry of the place refusing to resolve until he took the long way around. The facilities were very basic and a bit dirty, the showers not great. He looked at them and said: this is my life, this is how I live. Can't complain too much.

Back at the vehicle he moved the mount to a different position and tilted it down, wanting to see what a wider frame did — his hands, his dash, the lake past the windshield. He reached for the word and couldn't land it: not first person, third person maybe, but with something first-person in it. What he named was that people rarely get to see him use his body as part of his language, because the phone is always too close to his face. The GoPro shut itself down from heat twice more, with no battery in it once, and he decided he would just have to be conscious of it rather than solve it. On the drive back, thinking through the windshield, he laid out the other build: a way to show what is running beneath the surface of his videos. He had worked with AI on it the day before and already shipped one attempt — short quotes naming the cognitive process underneath what he was saying. Adapted cognitive synthesis. Integrated thinking. Cognitive extension. Dialectical reasoning. Presenting all the layers at once on screen had been impossible, so the new idea was icons as a key alongside the quotes, letting people take the surface if that is what they want and go beneath it if they don't. Still not the full picture, he said. He had a couple more ideas and was going to try them that day.

The laundry was ready. He stopped at the Mammoth Cave visitor center on the way through, found it packed with plates from states he couldn't identify, went in and got the one thing he cared about — a trail map — and spread it out, delighted, tracing where he'd come from and how far the C-loop site would put him from the trailheads. Thirty minutes. Doable; the same distance the 47 bridges had been. Outside it was remarkably hot, hot enough that a couple of minutes sitting in the vehicle had him sweating. Then he came back into camp and found it nearly emptied — one RV at the far end, everyone else gone days before he expected. He said it four or five times, laughing: everybody is gone, that makes me happy, it's basically just me, freedom. Inside, the zones read 77 in the main space, 79 in the cab, 77 in the office, 73 where he stood, all of it with reflectors up. He had a lot of gear to carry in and a lot of footage to go through, and he said outright that he had just made his life harder by adding cameras and thought it would be worth it, because he likes the creative process and this is what he wants to do. Bailey met him at the door. He always greets me, rswfire said. He always greets me when I come.

Summary

Sunday morning in Kentucky, rswfire opens the day noting the campground's laundry facilities have been repurposed, requiring a trip into Cave City. He uses a drop-off laundry service rather than waiting, freeing the day for scouting.

He drives toward Nolin Lake State Park, passing through Mammoth Cave National Park boundaries. Temperatures are in the 80s heading to the 90s; he has Reflectix on all windows, holding interior temps in the 70s. At the state park he assesses pricing as too high and rules it out, then checks Army Corps of Engineers campgrounds at $32/night.

He walks the loops methodically — A, B, C, D — evaluating levelness, hookups, backing angles, proximity to neighbors, and facility condition. He identifies C32 and C34 as the strongest candidates and notes primitive loops as viable only once he has more solar experience, which he expects to gain out west. He stops at the Mammoth Cave Visitor Center for a trail map.

Throughout, he engineers a GoPro mounting solution, clamping the camera to the windshield area, testing wide vs. linear framing, cable and charging configurations, and troubleshooting heat-related shutdowns. He describes developing an on-screen system — quotes and possible icon keys — to surface the cognitive processes beneath his videos, including dialectical reasoning and cognitive extension.

Returning, he finds his neighbors gone and the area nearly empty, and greets Bailey.

Environment

Recorded across a single Sunday in central Kentucky, beginning inside rswfire's RV — 73°F interior against outside temperatures already in the 80s, reflective panels covering every window, described by him as feeling "a bit of a cave." The on-site laundry facilities have been repurposed and the showers run cold, so the day routes outward.

The signal then moves through a Cave City laundromat drop-off, the road corridor inside Mammoth Cave National Park, Nolin River Lake State Park (closed office, prices assessed and rejected), and a Corps of Engineers campground where he drives the A, B, C, and D loops on foot and by vehicle, evaluating sites, hookups, road width, levelness, and bathhouse condition. Filming runs simultaneously on phone and a newly mounted GoPro, with a return at the end to a nearly emptied camp area and his dog Bailey.

Substrate

Two build-tracks run in parallel and share one logic: siting the physical vessel and siting the signal. rswfire evaluates campgrounds the way he evaluates architecture — hookup topology, ingress angles, levelness, neighbor distance, cost-per-night against value — and in the same hours works the mount geometry, framerate, and lens width of a second camera because the existing single-angle format cannot carry what he wants to transmit. The ontological position is builder-in-iteration: nothing here is a problem to solve, it is a system under test, with dependency on grid power named explicitly as a current limit and off-grid capacity named as a skill to acquire west.

Ontological States

Expressed modes of being or awareness.

sovereign (site selection made on his own criteria — cost, levelness, neighbor distance — with institutional pricing simply declined)
transitional (two weeks from the current site, actively siting the next one)
iterating (camera mounts, framerate, lens width, and annotation systems all under live test)
embedded (naming the RV as home mid-sentence; basic facilities accepted as "this is my life, this is how I live")
expanding (adding a second and third camera angle, knowingly increasing his own workload)

Engaged Subsystems

Architecture engaged in this transmission.

infrastructural (power, water, dump station, hookups, laundry, showers — assessed as system requirements, not conveniences)
technical (GoPro pairing, USB-A cable resolution, framerate and lens configuration, thermal failure diagnosis)
spatial-navigational (loop-by-loop site survey, ingress angles, road width, levelness, backing feasibility)
economic ($32 vs $45 per night held against value; pricing declined as outrageous)
cognitive-metacognitive (naming his own thought processes and designing a display layer for them)
creative-productive (channel format, multi-angle footage, iteration named explicitly as the enjoyable work)
